  1. Agree, the up close the E-wing looks awful, also why would you design a ship that has a gun blocking your pilots vision? That defender tho, my god its awesome. Something seems a little off about the Phantoms cockpit too but I can't quite place what.
  2. Sounds like fun but, "Swarm Cracken Land" The images, oh my god the mental images xD Just makes me think of some kind of Mario game cross over.
  3. Ninja'd! So who might you be? =P I came 4th. I believe third was. Boba: HLC + Engine upgrade + Push the Limit + Proton torpedos + Cluster Missiles + Seismic charge + Gunner for 68 points Backstabber 16 Dark Curse. 16 Total 100. I came 4th with Outer Rim Smuggler. 27 Green Squad + PTL 22 Biggs. 25 Gray + Ion cannon. 25 Total 99 points. Also Darth Vader shuttles, pretty good. Jesus.

    bit of a moan

I know that feel, I've been lucky to get 2 A-wings. But if you can just wait 3-4 months. A-wings and Tie Ints are most likely restocking with Wave 4/Corvette, Maybe even the Rebel Transport. If not and you are desperate for Interceptors, get Aces, at least one of the none unique is legal currently, as it is also contained in the Tie Int pack.
  5. I feel A-wings will be much better with Imp Aces alone, that hull upgrade Omnom. The amount of times I've had 2 hits and a crit slip through 3/4 and even 5 defense and the crit be 2 damage, instead death A-wing is uncanny. That being said, I have also done the same to interceptors with 4/5/6 dice, but once you add the new Pilots and the -2 upgrade I feel people will start to fear A-wings and give them the respect they deserve. Both are High Risk/High Reward, with the interceptor being stronger due to its attack dice and barrel roll I feel. However that being said, with Opportunist and/or good use of Expose the A-wing is just as good if not better due to the shields. Edit: Very good point made by Leo about the Flechette Torps.
  6. I will update this with the new Missiles, etc. Once they are released and we have some playtest feedback. Otherwise it's all pure speculation. As for current stuff I will update soon, still gathering some feedback from local playhouses as well. I'm at two tournaments this weekend so will update after those.
  7. Anyone figure out what Proton/Photon rockets do? Missile slot, but it's an action. It looks like it has something to do with having or not having something. Stress maybe? And the 2nd half looks like it says something about dice.
  8. As a Rebel player and A-wing fanatic I am so HYPED. Cannot wait to see the A-wing pilots, also wishing it was a A/Y pack.
  9. After seeing this thread, I couldn't help but go and make a Rebel 4 ship list. http://xwing-builder.co.uk/view/55328/harder-better-faster-stronger---rebel I do love the firespray idea however xD
  10. Hey all, is there anyone near Birmingham who would be willing to Host myself, and possibly other X-wing players, for the Open/National at the end of May? I'd most likely be for 2 or 3 nights Max. If not, those who are interested in going, would you be willing to put in together to get a hotel room/a few rooms, cheaper together, this could include a few sleeping on the floor such as what happens with Convention groups so prepare sleeping bags. If interested please post here before the 16th March as I believe that is when the tickets go on sale - I know this has been left a little late but =P

    The E Wing

Since they do seem to be drawing more from the X-wing series of PC games, I do hope the Imperials get the Assault gunboat. Not sure what else to give Rebels except maybe more Large ship types such as different YT's.

    The E Wing

Revanchist is correct, The Tie Phantom comes from Rebel Assault 2.
  13. Both have straight 2's and the A's are surprisingly tanky, a little less so without PTL. But I agree once you get in to it it will be hard do chain unless you keep the A's close to each other so you just boost those as wedge already being a 9 doesn't really need it.
  14. At a local store tournament (None FFG Store Tournament just a local thing) winner had 2 Fire sprays (Basic pilot) with Recon specialists and 2 Obsidian ties, he went 4-0. and I believe 2nd place was a Tie Swarm with Howl and Vader. I ran a AABY list - Two greens PTL, Dutch, Ion turret, Dagger Ion Cannon. Came 5th 2-2 lol. Tempted to keep the two A's and maybe sub out the B for something else, as all games were pretty close.
  15. My Mistake, I thought I saw someone asking if you could PTL on a free action that you are given and then again for your own action.
  16. I'll report back on the two I posted about as I've signed up and am going to both.
  17. No, no secondary weapons are effected by range dice, you do not get extra attack at range 1 and you do not get the extra agility at Range 3. This goes for all Secondaries. However I do believe you still get the extra agility if you are shooting through an obstacle.
  18. You could run something like. Roark + Blaster + Recon. Green Green + Swarm Wedge + R2F2 + Swarm So if Roark dies you still have a PS9 boost until Wedge dies, or if they focus Wedge first you still have your PS12's.
  19. Only issue is you cannot perform the same action twice in the same round, even if its a "Free" Action. However if another ship passes a focus or triggers another Ability that gives you Focus or another Token in some way that is allowed. And no you can only use PTL Once per Round. So you could not use it on the Free action and then use it again later.
  20. It seems... possible? As Swarm tactics can be chained to make everyone a PS9 if the original pilot is PS9, so if you use Roarks first, then use the PS12 boosted to Swarm tactics, it should work? Might need an official ruling on this.
  21. Worthless or not I'm getting three, with a good dial 2 or 3 of those with upgrades will be pretty strong, especially with PTL.
  22. There is a system in place so that either Tied first play off, or they work out who overall played against the "higher skilled opponents" and that person wins out right, we had a similar thing happen yesterday where two of us were on 200 points. Remember too that only outright wins award 100 points, if you go to time and you have 33 or more points than your opponent you get a modified win and then ofc there is a Draw and then a loss for 0 points.
  23. Travelling Man, Newcastle, UK, 22nd March. Games of War, Seaham, UK, 29th March.
  24. So much Hype! I can't wait =D I'd guess this event would be Approx 2-4 weeks before World release of Wave 4. So sadly no Wave 4 for May the 4th
  25. So how long on average are things usually at the printer? A month? Then a month and a half say for shipping so we may see them for mid may, or even the 4th if we are luxky
