It's spelled kvetch. Actually - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kettch It's a reference to the X-wing novels.

Glitter Bomb: When this bomb detonates, remove all Cloak tokens from all ships within range 1. I'd think it to disable cloak on any ship that flies within range 1 of bomb token for remainder of game. - Glitter doesn't just wear off. Good point. Maybe it should be "Permanently remove the Cloak action from all ships at range 1." Yeah like even the next day after a bath you can always spot a few. We didn't go out, is was from a birthday present honest. "I don't like glitter... it gets everywhere." But not like you, you're not glittery, and that is why I love you. Back on Topic Friday Hype. Nothing stops the Hype Falcon making this Kessel run.

So since FFG have said they will be at the celebration and seeing as how we haven't had any X-wing news since before Scum was released, I'm optimistic that we'll get some new info on the raider or whats coming next at the celebration. Anyone else? HYPE? (Sorry if there is already a similar thread, I had a look and could not see one)

Is it me or does the Imperial tend to win the starter mission?
KovuTalli replied to Marinealver's topic in Star Wars: Armada
I think Rebels lose most games because they just charge in at the VSD And get slapped by its front arc, you need to take 1 turn to split up and force the VSD to commit to one and then rush around the back with both, hopefully it commits to the corvette because then you can pop a navigate token and rush in get your blue dice the next turn. -
OK - if everything goes to plan - This week is Armada week!!!

Same the back end of my Neb-B has the white/light grey colour of the panel on the side at the front of the ship -
He wasn't telling you to learn to play he was quoting the page number from the "Learn To Play" guide from the box set.Easy mistake to make but I thought I'd point it out. What he said. I was quoting the name of the rule book. Please redirect your outrage to FFG for telling you to Learn To Play Ah my bad I take back what I said about being a ****, sorry. Happens when reading text on the internet sometimes - "Mistranslation" ha

Cheers Barty just wanted to confirm this. @Deathseed, well aren't you just a fun person. The game has been out all of 2 days and it is easier to miss/misread a part in the text I just wanted to confirm I was right. No need to be a **** about it
-
So reading the rules - am I right in thinking that if a ship performs an anti squadron attack, say the side arc of the Neb-B if there are 3 Squadrons within that arc I get to shoot at all 3 of them with that attack (One after the other)? As in the rule book it states you may "Target one enemy hull zone, or one or more squadrons"

Pretty sure they stated Wave 1 for Armada in a few weeks - 1 Month max, to give people time to learn the game and not to overload wallets.
-
Am I the only one disappointed? I was hoping it was going to be something more unique or at least a not so common one.
-
So do we have a confirmation no Wave 7/LCG stuff was announced today? Anyone that was actually there that can say so, I mean I'd expect to of heard if there was by now but I just want confirmation there wasn't.

Say Starviper's are duds to the top4 Finish with 3 basics and a HWK yesterday and 4 basics that had a top 10 finish today at Store Champion ships, yesterday had 16 players today had 47. Also Et'ahn is great with a Swarm of Z's. And I've also had great success with A's. Just because you have bad luck/see a ship doing bad in your local meta, does not mean it is bad. At the 47 player Store Champ today there was 1 of Every single ship except a bomber and that was mostly due to a lot of Imperial players trying out Scum. (I know of 3 Imperials who where there who usually fit a bomber or two in a list who all played scum)

It's 2 points actually The main Idea behind raising Dutch's PS is to shoot before the likes of Dash, Kenkirk, Vessery, etc. Also means I can move as late as possible, less chance of being blocked and odds are a ship I want to target lock is closer to me. If I drop them I can maybe give Jake Adrenaline rush or Lone Wolf. I do like R7-T1 3 points for a boost + Target lock is great for a Y-wing I think that + Title + any kind of turret is going to be huge when Scum hits, especially on Horton.

Had an idea to try and run this as a sort of fun but kind of Anti-Meta list. Prototype + Refit. (15) Jake Farrel + VI + Refit (23) - Sad not using both EPT slots I know. Dutch + ICT + R2-D6 + VI (30) Wes + VI + R3-A2 (32) Idea is all highish PS except the proto, so decent counter to high PS Deci's. Wes can strip Target lock or Focus from Phantom and Stress it before it gets to recloak, also just generally good vs any ship. Also a soft counter to 58 Dash as if they PTL they will end up double stressed. (sucks vs rebel captive but oh well) Jake for just arc dodging sad not to have PTL or Outmaneuver on there, it means dropping the proto and I'd like the extra ship/blocker. Dutch for Ion + Extra actions via passing out Target locks - it can even give one to a stressed Wes due to it being Acquire a lock not perform a lock action. I could either drop the Proto or make it a Z to get the EPT on Jake, but it means 2-3 less dice, no blocker and less HP in the list. Thoughts?

Horn build for my first store championship
KovuTalli replied to Jayheretic's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
Well 2 B's have 8 hp each with 1 dice. 2 'z have 4 hp each and 2 dice, so it'd work out about the same - stats wise anyway, but as we know it doesn't always work that way on the table. Dutch helps to add another thread with Ion + The Target lock economy. -
Horn build for my first store championship
KovuTalli replied to Jayheretic's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
I quite like using. Y-wing Dutch + Ion cannon Turret 2x Bandit Squadron Z-95 With your corran build it gives you 2 points to play with, so VI on Corran to counter Phantoms, or even VI on Dutch (+ 1 point for the EPT Droid) to make dutch an 8 as well. -
How much does it matter if a store follows FFG's rules for tournament play
KovuTalli replied to nikk whyte's topic in X-Wing
Wow that's crazy, the store championships I've gone to had maybe 8-10 people That was the 2014 Store Champs yes? The game basically exploded after that so expect a lot more depending on how the uptake has been with your local community. We used to get 4 -12 for tournaments around here now I regularly see 20+ -
Would you be ok with more FFG Original characters?
KovuTalli replied to Rogue Dakotan's topic in X-Wing
I'd be all for it, more, approved by LFL Star Wars is always good! Even when it's bad! -
I've had fun and success with: Etahn + FCS 3x Bandit 2x Prototype + refit. Lots of nice crits
-
58 Dash. 2x Prototype with Refit. Bandit. Alternatively. 58 Dash. 3x Bandit - either 2 with Proton rockets or 1 with and give a set to Dash.

Funny enough on Tuesday out of 10 lists not one had an outrider or a Falcon, a few with a Deci, but a lot of Wave 1-4 ships. My Local Meta is weird, that or we just like to experiment!

My thoughts are that the author of that post is comparing a weekend of casual play to... well, he or she doesn't actually make it clear what "I looked back into X-wing" means, but given the note about Fat Han it seems like it was a conversation in or at least around the late Wave 4 competitive game. The follow-up posts are just as bad, with accusations of "pay to win" and descriptions of the game as catering to power gamers with "extreme builds"--coming mainly from posters who admit they have little or no knowledge of the game. (Kovutalli, whose handle I recognize from here, is doing an excellent job of pushing back politely but firmly.) Thanks Vorpal, Yeah, I'm doing my best to fight the good fight, but without being overly obnoxious or "fanboy" like. They seem to just want to argue about Build X Beats build Y every time. Which in itself is an invalid arguement as X-wing is mostly about player skill and predicting your opponent, a little bit of dice luck and then your list - at least in my opinion. Sure there are some "bad" match ups for your list, but that list that "counters" yours also has bad match ups. Also the Thread seems to of calmed down and the OP has sort of "admitted" that what he is after is a Wargame, and X-wing is not a Wargame it's more of a tactical skirmish.
-
Actually since Wave 5 came out I don't think I've seen a Fat Han in my Local Meta, lot's of Deci's and Outriders, and just various other builds with the new upgrades, I've also seen a decline in Phantoms.

One of the many reasons I don't run many B-wings anymore, As fickle as green dice can be, I find B-wings can just blow up in 1 or 2 turns depending on how many reds are coming at you. Really finding I like Z-95's and A-wings at the moment. Looking forward to Z-95's and M-3A's! One thing B-wings HATE is Ion. As if you roll 2 hits or more, they cannot evade it and then you know exactly here it's gonna be next turn (other than a possible barrel roll or boost if it has something to give it a boost)
