  1. If FFG produced the same pirate, bounty hunter, and smuggler ships you want, but in in the existing Rebel and Imperial factions rather than a third faction, as they already have, 1) would you be disappointed, and 2) in what ways might this be inferior to releasing the same exact ships in a third faction instead?
  2. I prefer to keep it two factions. The game is the battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. To date bounty hunters, pirates, and smugglers have been aligned in the game to one of the two factions. I see no reason why FFG won't continue to give us cool mercenary ships within those same two factions.
  3. You want a third faction to have different movement than the other two?

  5. Thanks for mentioning this, I hadn't known about it. I'm definitely going to get into it.
  6. I respect that. How would you feel if FFG made a miniature of the Ebon Hawk (or some other iconic "far from rebellion era" ship) in the style of XWMG but not as an XWMG release?I would prefer FFG rebrand it a prequel game with a mechanics twist, and have it be incompatible with X-Wing as is.
  7. I want X Wing to remain Rebellion era, and I think limited edition production is a bad idea.
  8. New damage deck, too. Every other week.Edit: ninja'd prequel ships and third factions.
  9. Some speculate a future Battle of Yavin package that includes a Y-Wing and TIE-Advanced repaints, upgrade cards, and a cost fix card like the Chaardan Retrofit (-2 cost but takes the missile slot, A-Wing only) that will come with the Rebel Aces pack this quarter. However, this may be nothing more than wishful thinking. There's been no official announcement to suggest a Battle of Yavin pack or TIE Advanced repaint is on the way.
  10. I like how in some threads we pretend to be FFG designers and executives sitting around the board room, discussing the future of the game as if we had control (to suit our personal gaming desires instead of the company bottom line).

    Damage Deck Update?

    All over again.
  12. Haven't played Rebels in a while, or any of the Wave 4 stuff yet, so looking for some feedback on this 300 point build. Might not be fully optimized for jousting points or whatever the math wizards are calling it, but I want to get some experience with my new Z-95, E-Wing, and Transport toys, too. Thanks in advance for your advice! Han Solo Chewbacca, Millennium Falcon, Hull Upgrade 40 points Corran Horn Fire-Control System, Marksmanship 34 points GR-75 Medium Transport Targeting Coordinator 32 points Etahn A'baht 24 points Airen Cracken Assault Missiles 24 points Dagger Squadron Pilot #1 24 points Dagger Squadron Pilot #2 23 points Red Squadron Pilot #1 23 points Red Squadron Pilot #2 22 points Lieutenant Blount Assault Missiles
  13. I would support this as a fan-based project in Shapeways or something similar, but wouldn't want it in FFG's X-Wing product line. I find the prequel movies and ships so ridiculous that I wouldn't even want to play against them at a tournament, or be faced with the prospect of purchasing one in order to get an upgrade card sold with it.
  14. Every once in a while some fan of the prequels suggests FFG should release prequel ships. Most players seem to disagree.
  15. Aloha, everyone. I lurk these threads every so often, but I notice a vast number of posts are either criticisms about the game (Wave 4, the art, Epic ships, Rebel love, Imperial love, shipping delays, etc) or proclamations of how FFG should re-design the game. Sarcasm and insults often follow. Have the X-Wing threads always been so full of criticism? Are most game company discussion forums just as negative? This is all fairly new to me, so I'm curious to know. Thanks!
  16. At this point I'm going to retire from this thread. I trust FFG to design and produce this game in a fun, balanced, and satisfying direction. And if they don't, I'll be content with the ships I have up to that point. Alright, happy debating.
  17. Calling someone arrogant and dismissing their opinion won't enlighten them. And I have to agree with him. A third faction on one level or another seems inevitable. We'll just have tto see where it goes. I'd rather it be mercenary ships than a third faction but some people apparently feel like sharing ships would somehow destroy the faction system... I don't buy it.Just because you want it badly enough, and it makes perfect sense to you, doesn't mean that you have the final answer, have read FFG's intent, and know the future. To say you think it will happen because of some evidence or hope it will because of some desire is reasonable. To say it will definitively be so without actual proof is arrogant. It doesn't aid discussion, so I called him out on it.
  18. I wasn't trying to insult you. I was trying to enlighten you.
  19. There are about a dozen, perhaps two, who have dominated the posts these 19 pages. All that tells is that us few are passionate of our views and we ought to be doing more constructive things with our time. Presumptuous, and only demonstrates your supreme arrogance. Fact.
  20. 4x Z-95 2x E-Wing 2x Phantom 2x Defender Picking them up today!
  21. I like you so much right now.
  22. In social psychology that's called confirmation bias, and even multiplying your dozen or so sample tenfold is statistically insignificant.
  23. I find it amusing you don't think Demand isn't a reasonable basis to procure supply. That's pretty much all the excuse a company needs to make something. People want it. They will pay money for it. Why not try a smaller print run and see what the sales look like. When did I say that? All I am saying that this 'demand' is actually for more ships; which by the way they still releasing AND are showing no signs of slowing down the release schedule even if the more identifiable ships are already done, and not for a third faction in and of itself. TL;DR They are aware of and are meeting your alleged demand. Calm your farm. There is significant demand for a third faction. People ask if/when it will happen all the bloody time. There is demand for more than new ships. There is demand for new ideas. Change. And demand for ships that fit neither faction. If by significant you mean a dozen posters on this thread.
  24. That would be a fascinating way to end a game. FFG announces that they are stopping production of the game 1 year after wave 11 is released, and to cap it off they release a license agreement making the game open source like the OGL and an official card generator app for producing your own ship cards. That would be pretty freakin' cool of them. Well the old Star Trek CCG by Decipher pretty much functions like that now - they have a Continuing Committee that releases expansions that people print themselves and even have tournaments. It is cool and I'm sure if FFG cancelled X-Wing that many of us who still wished to play would eventually do something very similar. However, back to the original topic: Suppose it's not just a 3rd faction, but multiple extra factions similar to Star Trek Attack Wing. Maybe we'll see 5 factions within the next few years.... (I doubt it, but maybe). I do expect that the main reason that we haven't seen the bounty hunter ships yet is that they probably made a decision at some point AFTER making the Slave-1 expansion to do BH's as a separate faction... because if not I'd have expected the Hound's Tooth to show up long before EU stuff like the VT-49. Dear cybergods, five factions?! I'm still opposed to three; I sure hope FFG doesn't take X-Wing way of Attack Wing.Edit: The Axis & Allies miniatures guys make their own high quality maps and unit card decks long after Avalon Hill stopped production.
  25. Battlefoam is a quality product, but the company has a long ship time. It's not just you. Well worth the wait, though, so hang in there.
