  1. The rules btw for the moving asteroids are simple.

At the end of Activation each asteroid moves directly away from the edge previously declared the Asteroid edge.

The tip of the range ruler is placed perpendicular touching the edge closest to the asteroid edge. Then the asteroid slides forward until the front of the asteroid touches the end of Range 2. If it overlaps or moves through a ship base, that small or large ship is immediately destroyed. A huge ship gains a face up card and destroys the asteroid.

Asteroids that fly off the edge, or are destroyed, are replaced the next planning phase entering within range 1 from the asteroid edge.

Huh?  Do you have the official rules wording?

  2. I can see TOR and KoTOR ships in there. That's pushing wishful thinking a bit far.

Not sure what the Outrider's doing there.

Yeah Alex just talked about the game eras expanding, in the coming years just to have new goodies to make. He even mentioned Clone Wars ships...

That's twisting his words at best and falsifying them at worst. He said that ships run out and he could see something like an ARC-170 happening in GCW.

Watch it again... i know what has been said over the last year of interviews thanks. Do you?

    Around 8:30 (rough transcription)

Interviewer: So are we going to see any archaic starfighters, like Tempest [garbled] Clone Wars ships as well?

Alex Davy: It's always possible [emphasis original]... I know that we've been trying to steer clear of Clone Wars in general, just because we're trying to stay within the same era, but, I mean, if the game---

Interviewer: Those are all holdover ships.

Alex Davy: That's true.  It's, like, an ARC-170 would make sense.

    Interviewer: Right.

Alex Davy: Like, it's not impossible.  [Emphasis original]  Uh, and I would say if the game keeps going and keeps being successful, uh, we're going to run out of ships.  We're going to have to do something.

Then he goes on to mention Episode VII and that a lot of the decisions of which ships to include come from Christian Peterson (CEO) and upper management.

    At 10:08

Alex Davy: Basically what it comes down to is, what does Christian like and what does the game need, and, you know, that pretty much--and, what will LFL be most comfortable with?

  3. Tell your woman she's hot.  But not too much or she might realize she can do better than you and  look elsewhere!

Don't pump FFG too much keep them striving for more!  But love this wave!

    Can't... Like... your post...

  4.

    SWX35: Imperial Assault Carrier

    SWX36: ........?

    SWX37: ........?

    SWX38: ........?

    SWX39: Ghost

    SWX40: Inquisitor's TIE

    SWX41: Mist Hunter

    SWX42: Punishing One

...so three new "Episode VII"-related X-Wing products.

If they were going to do a new starter pack, it'd be one of the release numbers. So to buy into the hype, it'd be one for the set, then maybe one for the new X-Wing, and one for the new TIE fighter, each released as Wave I (Part 2) add-ons.

    Agreed.

And if the starter set has new models, they need to be able to be purchased individually as well...

I ran out of Likes for the day, but I think these three figured it out.

  5.

Well it was only a matter of time before they started taking ships from other visual Star Wars cannon such as the spinoff cartoons and Episode 8. But with the announcement of wave 8 I think the possibility of prequel ships are closer than ever.

I thought that, too, for a moment, except:

One of the best and most compelling things about X-Wing is that it's not just a great miniatures game; it's a Star Wars miniatures game that's loaded to the S-foils with the tension and drama of the Galactic Civil War.

    So, no.

  6.

Rydiak has in his signature the FAQ about attack dice and fire arc. I don't see that any longer. What am I missing?

That's just some wishlisting.  It has never been in the errata and likely never will be either.

Too much of a re-design to the rules (too many potential unanticipated consequences) and probably far more than required for the perceived popularity/powerfulness of PWTs by some.  Incremental buffs, if at all, are best.

  7.

There are lots of positive results with the "when defending, if you are beyond Range 2 or outside the attacker's firing arc, you may change 1 of your blank results to an evade result" fix.

Pity it only works on four ships.

The four most fragile ships.  If you want diversity, buff the PWT (as it does), don't break them.  Even though you don't like them, they have they place to counter other build-types.  Balance is key.  It's never in perfect equilibrium (no ship is equally played as every other), but it's much closer now.  It was a good fix.  Wave 7 has some more good counters; minor, but just enough pull PWTs back a little more.  You don't want to over-do it.  The cure shouldn't be worse than the disease.
