  1. Got to agree with the consensus here, you do not need the starter to play as you can buy everything separately, either other companies (asteroids & templates) or from people on ebay who have broken down the starter.

However by the time you have bought the bits that you want individually you will probably have spent as much or more as you would on a starter. Also with the starter if you decide that you really do not want the ships you can sell them on to recoup some money.

  2. I want to add my thanks for all the work you put into this. I use it all the time.

    +1 Ditto. Awesome squad builder!

My only gripe with it is that it works very poorly on idevices. On my iPad and iPhone I can't change the squad name or the number of points as the popups don't work. Also the popup window with the EPT does not allow to scroll through all the upgrades. It's also very slow in general even on my iPhone 5.

If the above issues were fixed I would be happy to donate some $.

    Cheers.

Strange. All those things work on my iPad fine. Anyone else having the same issues?

    Vs

I have the same issue using an iPhone but on the nexus everything is fine

  3. I like elusiveness on Ibitsam as it allows you to force the attacker to re roll  a die and then you get the re roll after. It is less effective if you are against a swarm of low PS ships however as you will be shooting before them when ideally you want to be shooting second with this combo.

  4. How about it works the same way ion cannons fire ie un-cancelled hit resolve the card with no damage and the text reads something like blinded pilot, next time you attack roll no dice. Could be a similar missile to ion pulse

  5. So swarm tactics wedge down below other ships so he can use opportunist? Granted that is a pretty dumb way to use it, but it was the first thing to come to mind. ;)

It has never occurred to me to use swarm tactics to lower a pilots skill but I quite like this idea. You could put it on a mid level fighter and raise or lower the squads skill depending on the situation. Stick it on Lt Blunt (forgot the real name) and he can either boost lower skill pilots or pull Wedge down to his level to shoot after he's taken the Stealth off someone (because that's all he's going to be used for apparently ;) )

  6. I just noticed that the upcoming page has been updated with a date of the 28th for these (apologies if this was spotted a while back)

I had been looking forward to these as it has been getting tough to pick up B-Wings for retail in the UK recently with most of my FLGSs sold out.

However with the Rebel Aces on their way later in the year (hopefully) I may hold out for them instead.

  7. Buzzsaw B-wings... that's all I got. Keyan Farlander +Fire Control System +Gunner +ElusivenessDagger Squadron Pilot +Fire Control System +Gunner x2 100 Points

I thought about this but with Farlander having PS7 I don't know how effective elusiveness is going to be with most things shooting after him

  8. Does no one see the obvious happy times?

Wedge and Wes were made for each other.

    Wes + Veteran Instincts @ PS10

    Wedge + Opportunist @ PS9

Add whatever other ship(s) and upgrades.  But you use Wes to strip a the tokens to assure Opportunist to be used, then Wedge to make the most use of it.

I've been thinking the same thing

  9. It is a lot of points.

Some of my original musings made me want to put it on low PS ships so they could shoot second, but that won't work since Opportunist is an elite upgrade so you can only put it on higher PS ships.

I actually think the best place to put it would be on a YT-1300 so your 360 firing arc lets be able to pick from more ships to shoot at and hopefull have a shot at one without any tokens.

Could you put it on Tarn Mison (I can't remember if he has an EPT) he's going to be shooting late and will have a target lock on any one that has already shot at him which will combine nicely with opportunist. Starts to make him expensive though.

  10. Now imagine if there was a large ship that came with an astromech and a co pilot slot, you could take R3-A2 with a gunner and potentially hand out two stress tokens a turn. Wave 5 with the outrider and an astromech slot? Could be a good way to differentiate the outrider from the falcon? Buuuttttt thats way off topic....

  11.

Unfortunately Porkins receives a damage card which will bypass the shields rather than just damage, otherwise that would be a great combo

Yeah my bad there. Still think Jek ability is pretty cool, with a fairly small chance of rolling a hit, it gives you a lot of options. It's not something I'd use everytime, but could be huge at the right moment, even if you took the damage.

Yeah I'd like his ability more if my ships and asteroids did not appear to be magnetically attracted to each other ;) I really hope the big ships just knock them out the way or my opponents will just be able to watch from a distance as I pinball through them :D
