I have no idea what the corporate strategists think about this material, and I have no idea about the Disney corporate culture. I highly doubt they're going to force FFG to produce YT-1300s with two satellite dishes, but who's to say. I think as long as its profitable, and it protects the awe with which we all hold Star Wars, Disney is happy to take their cut. I'm on board with that. I want Star Wars to remain awesome. (ie. I don't want no Sun Crushers) They told Hasbro to cool it completely on EU character action figures. They canned those video game releases so they could concentrate attention on Rebels and the movies. And there was also the announcement that a lot of EU stuff is going to be declared non-canon. These are the things I'm refferring to when I talk about their disdain for the EU. It's not unknowable.

Yes, but the X-Wing Expansion Pack has been out for a while now. How long can FFG run on the fumes of the ships that have already been put out? How much new content do they feel they need to continue creating. How long before that new content just gets too weird for fans to embrace? I don't know why you're worried though. They're only improving the game with each release by my reckoning. For example, I'm really looking forward to barrel rolling *out* of range 1 so Dash can use his turret HLC. Thats fresh and tech. I would worry more about Disneys attitude towards the EU as a threat to the game. But they seem to be giving FFG free run with the source material.

Talk of the game ending is completely ridiculous. FFG have commited to the Empire/ Rebellion era. The Rebels series is the beginning of that era and has X-wings in it. I get the impression lots of people think we aren't going to see releases from this. It boggles my mind. Also, I heard they are making new movies...with X-wings...

Don't forget all those SKUs (6 wasn't it?) in between wave 4 and rebel aces. I don't think Aces will be the next release. I think they're sitting on some suprise releases connected to the launch of the Rebels series. I think the Victory class SD would be the best choice if it were to happen. (900 meters as opposed to 1500) I would want it to be at least 3 feet long. You would probably need to set it in the middle of the field and make it not move. Like a giant gnarly asteroid.

I LOLed. I think FLGS should replace LGS for all purposes now.

There is no logic to the naming of the ships.The X-wing is because of the shape of the deployed wings. The A-wing because of its frame shape. The B-wing because...? Since the engines protrude from the rear of the wing and the fuselage is really long I think the 3 guns that are the same length make the E much better. Especially since the middle gun placement has so many people scratching their heads. I think it's clear they wanted an E-wing and designed the ship to suit.
