    I just don't understand why your so gleeful I didn't get my ship.

    There was nothing in there that was gleeful about not getting epic ships. He was simply pointing out that some people have been waiting wayyy longer for a 3rd faction then we've waited for Imperial Epic ships.

     

    Go back and read the mocking, sneering characterization of my side of the argument.

    Him and *many* others on this forum have been behaving this way. It got ridiculous over the weekend and made the situation much worse.

     

    And the 3rd faction wasn't *needed*. I would argue that the epic imp is.

    Honestly, I'm rather disappointed with all the "We didn't get what we wanted what is this trash they gave us?" stuff.

     

    I've been hoping - and commenting that it was a good idea - for a third faction since before Wave 3 was announced.  And the epic guys go all of what, three months worth of waiting and it's "Ooooh, so disappointed, this is soooo horrible, I don't know if I can keep playing this game!!!"

     

    Sheesh.  I've got a year and a half bonus wait time you can have.  :rolleyes:

    Your ridiculous mocking tone is undeserved. There's nothing unreasonable about what I said, get a grip.

     

    Epic play *needs* a piece for the Imperials. There is none. The format exists and is running but is incomplete.

    Even if we'd been teased something we'd still be a long way out from release.

    For those that play epic this is disapointing. Sorry that makes us worthless and weak.

    Do you not understand that it didn't have to be one or the other?

     

    If you knew a thgird faction was on the way but it was delayed so they could promote a new board game that had scum in it, wouldn't that irk you?

    At first I was completely meh.

    It was cool in a "wow, wouldn't have thought they'd do it" kind of way, but I couldn't get past my disapoint over the Imp epic.

     

    I think they could have softened the blow if they'd previewed something, anything for the existing factions.

    If S&V didn't grab you the there was literally nothing to look at.

    But this view is clearly wrong and I am evil for having it so I'll move on.

     

    I'm coming around though, mostly because of IG200.

    I'l very likely end up with all the S&V pieces eventually, but I'll pick them up gradually instead of feverishly. It'll be a nice change.

    I really dig the design.

    It's all I can do not to stop the project I'm on and start roughing one out in foam, heh.

     

    What's really exiting with regards to our game is that in this new future there is still a strong empire.

    That makes me very hopeful for  direct integration of the new movie material into the game (as opposed to yet another new game)

    Considering it looks like they've delayed it so they can try and milk us for a $100 Armada starter first?

    I think wave 6 may be the worst selling.

    Not because of armada, but because a lot of people only play one faction and this set has nothing (or very little) for those 2 significant groups.

    Yep, except it gives me for example a faction that i really want to play over Empire or Rebels. Tastes. Not everybody is just empire or rebels.

     

    Such wisdom.

    No, not everybody is, but a hell of a lot are.

    We've just seen FFGs GENCON announcements and there is nothing I want to buy.

    FFG is a company.

    Companies have the goal of making money.

    Comapanies make money by expanding their product line.

    Armada is an expansion of the Star Wars line.

    Cows eat grass.

    The majority of our Monday night X Wing group is not buying Armada.  There is a lot of resentment.  And no epic ships, though I don't care, is bugging them.

     

    My complaint is simple, FFG you have officially split the X Wing community.  Not smart.

     

     

    I don't get this. Why would people be mad about Armada?

     

    It's not like Armada is preventing FFG from putting out new content for X-Wing. QUITE THE OPPOSITE, in fact - considering that we're getting, by the end of the year, Wave 5, Rebel Aces, and a whole new faction, while Armada won't even ship until 2015.

     

    You may not like the direction FFG has chosen to go in with the new waves, but it's not like FFG's decisions were dictated by Armada. There's zero evidence to support that conclusion.

     

    Put it this way - if FFG had JUST announced the new X-Wing content, would everyone still be upset?

     

     

    Actually it looks VERY MUCH like FFG have decided to go with armada instead of imperial epics.

    Zero evidence? The lack of a huge ship reveal at gencon is evidence. What's wrong with you?

    Get one of those cardboard tubes with the plastic caps that they use for posters.

    Cut it to the length of a range ruler.

    Everything fits in just fine. That's what me and my son use.

     

    Edit: oh, I see.

    It probably won't fit in there. nevermind

    The fighter squadrons are unpainted.And the scales are screwy. The SD compared to the cr90 sucks. I'm passing on armada.

    The geek is not strong with this one.

    That's a Victory class star destroyer not an Imperial class.

    So the scale is about right.

     

    I'm well aware of the difference between a VSD and an ISD. I've been the one to point it out in another thread.

    I didn't say it was an ISD so why are you correcting me?

     

    I'm in this game becasue it's SW, not as a miniature/war-gamer.

    That means fluff is huge for me and painting is hard.

     

    I'm happy for all of you though, sorry for the negative sounding original post.

    You're right, I haven't. No one else has seen the show to know if it will be great either. Perhaps I am a bit too harsh; but with Disney killing 35 years of EU I will probably treat everything they produce that is Star Wars as "garbage." Probably extreme and/or crazy, but that's the way I feel: They do something I don't like, I have the right to boycott them.

    You will never, ever, under the drowning-out-anger cries of love and adoration for everything star wars, EVER be heard. Your boycotts will begin and end on facebook, fueled only by irate people with nothing but bitterness in their hearts when they should give something a chance, for they have no agency over what happens next in Star Wars- not the worldwide phenomenon we all know and love.

    Go ahead. Boycott. As far as the CEOs, writers, artists are concerned, no matter how many thousands of you there are, compared to the millions otherwise?

    You will be alone in doing so, forever.

    I never noticed the box size difference before.

    The price difference will probably be based on the case price; less models in the case means a higher individual price point so the case can be costed the same.

     

    It's strange though, I can't really see why it has to be that deep...
