If anyone has pics of the talent trees, I’d be terribly grateful to have them PM’d to me if you’re not comfortable spoiling stuff on the open forum.

sonovabith got a reaction from Zenferno in True Aim
Precise aim does something powerful that true aim doesn't: removes dice from the opposing pool. Adding or subtracting dice always has a greater impact than upgrading. I'm no math guy, but there are a few posts on the topic that support this. And it's true that if your attribute and skill ranks are the same, you will be adding dice to the pool, I realize.
Also, precise aim costs less in terms of XP. Just going by EOTE trees, the first rank of precise aim costs 10 xp. Both true aim ranks are 25, the same as dedication. True aim is a better talent, in my opinion, but it is also balanced by having an increased cost.

EDIT: Also, precise aim only costs one strain per rank. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea it costs two strain to reduce defense by 1, but it's a one to one ratio.

sonovabith got a reaction from Rithuan in Order 66 Podcast - Questions for the Devs - Dawn of Rebellion
With the Improved Coordinated Fire talent, the activation cost is either one triumph or six (six?!?) advantages. I believe it's the first such talent to have that steep of an advantage cost. What made the devs decide the talent was worth a cost of six (six?!?) advantages? Why not simply make it only activate on a triumph like Improved Field Commander? And on the other side of the coin, is it appropriate to consider letting players activate talents that cost a triumph if they end up with a boatload of advantages?
    Thanks!

I've found Discord's quality to be much better than Skype's in terms of audio (never really used video, so I can't speak on that). And the UI is MUCH better than Skype, Skype's UI is a laggy mess and seems to be much more prone to technical issues, whereas Discord seems very easy to navigate and rarely gives me any trouble unless my internet is dropping out.

Jury's still out on that - I only have the one session to report on.  Video and audio quality were in fact superior to what we normally have, but one test is hardly exhaustive.  Discord did decide to update in the middle of our call, without asking mind you, but miraculously it didn't drop the call.

Should be  much of an argument. There are those that think E8 was awesome and those who are wrong.

In defense of the name I think it’s quite clever. Genesys is perhaps an abbreviation of Generic System, but also, of course, means the origin point for something new.

The thing is - Eventually, Empire vs Rebels again and again and again will get dull, so I would love for Disney to do some batshit crazy Star Wars flicks. Straight out comedy? Assuming it was well done - **** yeah. A low budget spaghetti western-ish Boba Fett rolls in and f's up two warring clans by setting them against each other with Ennio Maccaroni doing the score? Absolutely. A heist movie like Snatch? Sure! So yeah, bring on a big, bold, brassy West Side Story-like musical.

Nothing you're implying remotely happened.  Such silly hyperbole requires a response with math.
The Rebel ship was, what, roughly a kilometre long?  And say 200 meters height and width?  I think these are generous numbers.  So that's roughly 1000 x 200 x 200 = 40 million cubic meters.  You could easily fit 5 pineapples length, width, and height-wise in a metre, so each cubic meter would hold 125 pineapples...again, super generous.  So the Rebel ship was a 5 billion-pineapple bomb (40 x 125 x 1 million), and while it cut a nice swath through the First Order flagship (and wasted a few others besides), it didn't exactly take out a planet, never mind the 5 billion planets one might be led to believe it could have based on your "question".
The math doesn't lie:  people complaining about the "hyperspace bomb" are 5 billion times crazier than a Kowakian monkey lizard.

ALERT: This post could be taken as snarky or combative. I want to assure you it's not. It's just that tone is challenging on the Internet.
If getting to a FLGS to see what they have is onerous or a challenge, don't do it, don't participate. I've got the luxury of having definitely two, possibly three, stores in town that carry the FFG SWRPG line. I imagine there are others of us in bigger towns with a similar circumstance. I have no problem running the errand in my spare time to help other gamers without worrying about gas money or recompense for time spent. But if that's not the case for you (the royal you, not you specifically themensch) just don't participate. Don't charge other people a convenience fee - that's how $130 copies of SM happen.
