I have a question about the timing of the various consumable items. There are several of them, with a wording along these lines:
"Use this item at any time, roll a die, do something from a list of outcomes then discard this card."
If I'm at my item limit and encounter one of these cards, would I have to ditch something to use this item, or can I use it immediately upon encountering it?
Obviously if I intended on keeping it for later use I'd have to ditch an item, but what if I wanted to use it right then and there?

I have to chime in and +1 what the posters before me have said. Fantastic job!
Now... wanna paint my minis?

Good to know I played the card correctly. Thanks!

Since a lot of things in Talisman are random by nature, I'd suggest to the two players involved that they roll dice and the lowest roller ditches the object on their next turn.
It seems like a fair way to resolve the situation.

This came up in a game today:
I was sitting on Pandora's Box passing out cards for people to encounter. I gave a Craft enemy to a player, she failed to beat it and lost a life. The enemy was then left on the space. The next card I played was another Craft monster on the same player. Does she fight *both* craft enemies together, or just the newly played one?
I made her fight just the newly played monster.
I ended up losing the game... but I'm sure I would have won if it turns out I played the card incorrectly.
Any thoughts?

I was thinking of creating two alternate ending cards for use with 'The Dragon', one for using the Dragon Tower and one for the Dragon Realm (both for revealed endings, obviously), and shuffling them in. If either comes up, play a game of The Dragon using the middle board. If a different ending comes up, I'd just use the regular board.
My main thoughts for doing this is 'The Dragon' doesn't look like it would play well with other alternate endings. This would be a way of playing with the contents of the expansion, but only occasionally.
It seems like I'd be less likely to get tired of the 'fiddly bits' this way as well.
Has anyone thought of doing this before? If so, do they have a pdf of the alternate ending cards I can use?

No, players are only required to pick one of the two routes.
Players only encounter the same space twice if they retreat for some reason, and make a run for the CoC at a later time.

Thanks for the speedy replies. I look forward to my first chance to try out your cards!

I have a few questions about cards from the nether realms:
1) If I'm sitting on Pandora's Box, and I play Goblin Baby/Sepulchre Spectre on someone and the cards in question move to their space, do they then have to encounter all of them, or do they just move to his space?
If he encounters them all, does that include any cards that began on his space?
2) The Gauntlet: If there are enough disastrous attempts at trying to make it to the CoC, does the nether deck get reshuffled?
3) Mist Giant - With fate, can you re-roll either die before they're assigned? After they're assigned? If it's after, and you roll higher than the Mist Giant, do the dice switch?
4) Dark Fey/Basilisk - If you roll doubles, can you then use a fate to re-roll one of the dice?
The expansion looks dangerous... and a lot of fun. I look forward to playing it!

'The Hunt' Question

This didn't come up, because I didn't roll high enough, but it could.
Presuming that 'The Hunt' is the alternative ending sitting on the board and I have fewer than the four needed cards to win the game:
If I defeat the Lord of Darkness by enough to move me to the Crown of Command... am I just stuck there? The rules state you can't leave the CoC once you've landed on that space, and I don't meet the victory conditions of the alternative victory.
What happens?
