Thing about aces is that they are very expensive for how squishy they are IF you can reliably generate ACC results.  Trick is that "reliably generate ACC results" can be quite overpowered in some cases, while useless in others, making upgrades that do it...difficult to price.
I'd dearly love upgrades that did the 'dual side' thing X-Wing 1.0 had on some cards.
IE., a ion cannon upgrade that on one side is 'The battery armaments for your front and rear hull zone are increased by 1 blue dice' and the back side is 'When performing an anti-squadron attack, add 1 blue dice to your attack pool'.  It's a fixed price, and you choose the side during deployment that you'll use the entire game.  Upgrades like that would help a lot in solving a bit of the paper-rock-scissors element that isn't particularly desirable in tournaments.

Why?  So people can then ***** about having to pay $60 each for the conversion kits, of which they need 6 and now have 6 extra damage decks and 6 extra sets of templates?

Ain't even mad. I had a ton of fun playing my Defenders. Besides, I know a couple people that might be unwilling to buy conversion packs so I can just play 1E with them and 2E with everyone else.

Thank you. It amazes me how many times I've seen interesting ideas get shot down because the developers couldn't do it within the rules they set for themselves. It really isn't hard to just agree that a Crew!Admiral only works for the ship they're actually on, and Konstantine is the only one I can think of that presents any real trouble. Well him and Dodonna but it isn't hard to just agree that Dodonna only applies when the damage was caused by the ship he's on. This isn't an official thing guys, interpreting the rules according to intent will be more productive than rules-lawyering. Especially since to use a house rule you have to discuss things like Dodanna technically being the same when you suggest using the rule in the first place.
Looking over the commander options, almost all of them work perfectly if you replace "each friendly ship" with "this ship," except for Konstantine and Dodonna. For Konstantine, maybe apply his ability to one enemy ship per turn and/or say that Konstantine must be on one of the friendly ships that triggers the ability? He's a bit awkward to work with in this regard but I think it could be sorted out easily enough with players willing to use this rule. I might have to suggest it when the next campaign starts.

The point costs are very preliminary, so please bear with me until they've been adequately tested. The main goal of the cards is to add some variety to ISD play, and to make 2- and especially 3-ISD lists more exciting and viable.

I like how people threw a giant tantrum over the EU getting pushed into "canon if we use it again" because it was allegedly so good, but the EU also had Death Star superlasers mounted on Star Destroyers and Palpatine creating Force Storms big enough to destroy solar systems wherever he wanted. And complaining that Rey is "just Luke as a girl" but it was fine when Dash Rendar was just blond Han Solo? I'll admit that I'm concerned that we actually are going to see a retread of Empire Strikes Back, but it's amazing how many people seem to forget that a villain with seemingly infinite resources and a fixation on superweapons is basically the fuel that runs Star Wars.

That said, I will be pretty salty if they prove me wrong. I've said a few times that while TFA does follow the original movie in many ways, there's a lot of room for it to go in different directions. Rey and Kylo have a different dynamic than Luke and Vader did, for instance. The Death Star destroying Alderaan was an excessive show of force from the ruling power, the First Order using Starkiller base was more like the Pearl Harbour attack if it had been aimed at Washington. There's a lot of little differences to the "samey" bits that could make the sequel trilogy go in a very different direction from the original, and I'll be disappointed if they don't take advantage of that. I'm fine with nods and homages, those are basically mandatory. But I will be upset if it really does just turn into ESB 2: Scifi Boogaloo.

That ship looks much better at this angle. I wasn't a huge fan of it when I saw the first image of it, but I was hopeful that it would look better in the movie. Looks like I might be onto something there. I still don't like the guns on the bottom, though. I mean, I get what they do and all, they just look weird. I like the Resurgent-class a lot more.

Right, the AT-AT has knees where the AT-M6 has elbows and raised shoulders, making it look more primate. So, yeah, gorilla walkers. I do think it makes them a bit more threatening, regardless of the size difference. So, I'm not going to be a hater.
    No question.
This may just be a generational thing. I've overcome a lot of hatred for the PT. I think it's because while the PT were aimed at children (which the OT was too), those of us who grew up with the OT, and experienced the PT in adulthood felt talked down to, because we presumed that Star Wars was ours rather than yours.
Now that I'm older still, and in the position to be a parent (I'm not, but I'm more than old enough to be), I can see the value in appealing to a younger generation, the way that I couldn't when the PT was released.
