    Yeah, that seems to work. I keep forgetting FFG plays fast and loose with shields for some things (technically the Inquisitor's TIE does the same thing).
     
    I wonder if "When defending against a ground unit, each <evade> result counts as 2 <evade> results." would make ships too tough.

    I'm just going to go ahead and get this started - the StarViper and Aggressor are prettier than the X-wing and Firespray respectively.
     
    Back to the actual topic at hand: I wonder if you'd be better off running him with an Ion Torpedo over APT. Sure, you lose damage output directly, but it makes your opponent stop bunching so he has more trouble focusing any one ship down, and the more spread out the enemy is vs. any Xizor list, the better.

    I'm not convinced that Xizor has to be that bulked up to be un-ignorable, and MW revitalises Y-wings so well that running him with 2-3 of them should be viable, which mitigates a lot of the target selection as Xizor is pure murder even with limited upgrades.

    Start by finding an image of the ship you want. There are a couple of optimal qualities that you should look for:
    high resolution (we're going to be scaling the image down at the end) high contrast (not necessarily on the ship itself, but between the ship and the background) correct angle (this is more variable, but generally you want something with a slightly nose-down attitude, top-down or side shots aren't the best) Once you've found a good image, magic-select the background and delete it. It doesn't matter if you don't get it all in one go, just try not to select parts of the ship (this is why we want high-contrast between ship and background).
     
    You'll end up with a ship and a transparent background. Select the background (global magic-select is useful if there are non-contiguous pockets of background), then make a new layer. Fill the selected area, doesn't matter what colour, then fill the empty area in white (there's an easier way to do this by using selection modes to select everything that's not transparent on the ship layer, but this is my muscle memory for it).
     
    You should get a white ship with whatever background colour. Delete the background colour and the underlying layer so you just have the white ship and a transparent background. Now, flip/rotate the ship so it's facing right, and slightly up/down (this is sort of to taste), then scale the image way down (anywhere from 150-300px longest side is fine).
     
    This produces nicely antialiased edges. Now, change the canvas to a square (although it doesn't matter much), and save as .png to keep the transparency.
     
    Then you can add it in StrangeEons. It'll automatically scale, but adjust scale and position a tad to get it filling most of the circle on the card.

    This is a thing I've been working on for (yikes!) almost three months now, despite which it's really not anywhere near complete, but I thought I'd attempt to get some design feedback here.

    It's not designed to be balanced vs. OT+ ships, if parts of it are that's nothing but a happy accident. Hopefully I've managed to make it more or less balanced vs. itself, but hey, minimal testing.

    I was originally going to have a semi-complex reload/delayed fire system for missiles and torpedoes, but it proved a bit clunky. There might still be references to it on some cards that haven't been updated, but there's only one real rules tweak, which I adopted to smooth out some elements and hopefully sidestep an OT+ pitfall.

    "When attacking with a TURRET PRIMARY WEAPON or an AUXILIARY FIRING ARC, if you are targeting a ship outside your primary firing arc, reduce your Primary Weapon Value by 1."
     
    This has a useful effect on several ships. It provides the proper rear-arc firepower for the ARC-170, prevents the Havoc from being a nasty PWT while running away, and makes the Firespray's rear arc less broken. Doesn't really affect the Nantex one way or the other since the thing is a dervish.
     
    Anyway, enough preamble that hasn't actually defined the scope of this project: this is an unfinished but fairly comprehensive set of ships, pilots, and upgrades for ships from the ~30-20BBY era.
