I really enjoy the game.  However I'd certainly welcome future campaigns that have more varied win conditions.

The amount of time you can spend painting, and the feeling of satisfaction you get from having painted models adds a lot to the "bang for my buck"

I've got a feeling the Barghest are next for Waiqar as the faction starts to develop into a cavalary heavy one. I also think Uthuk will start to become a siege heavy faction.

Quick and dirty dial comparison. This is probably the most agile unit Daqan have seen, with their Latari-esque double shift option. They seem suited to a flanking role, dancing around the enemy until they find just the right opening to strike.

My thoughts exactly, on both counts. I think that free blue action will either put them precariously out in the open, or will not end up amounting to much. I very much look forward to be proven wrong.
Also, what do you make of "eight customizable miniatures"? Sounds to me like the arms can slot into any of the torsos, allowing you alter the figures to make them stand out a bit more from other armies. If that is the case, I greatly approve. Nice job, FFG.

I was given this promo card, but I can't seem to find any information about it. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks in advance!

Here is my first batch of completed elves (based on an Aspen or Birch tree)! I'm doing eight in each color scheme to help differentiate them from the Daqan, who I painted in pairs of four. I'm excited to see what Kari can do with them!
The next batch has a color scheme based on a Royal Maple tree, which will be dark red tunics and grey armor!

I for one can't wait until we start seeing big FFG tournaments recorded. Plus it'll be far more interesting to watch than X-Wing as with four factions we'll see a lot more varied matchups.

I've got 2 but never tried them.  Fortunately Polda has saved us all. You also need to shade/gradient the metallic for those to do good work, I do have some trans paints, but it would not save time/effort apparently.
As far as turtles or hulks, yeah kinda, much less than prehighlight certainly. @Parakitor, cutting himself soon, obviously.

Well, that's the first skeleton done prior to a coat of varnish and basing. It's not great but hey, as someone new to painting I'm happy enough with how it looks at a distance compared to unpainted plastic.

I'm open to all criticism and advice on how to improve it before I lay down the varnish.

There is a reason why this "paint" is always shown off on gemstones and not larger areas. It is not a paint, it's a thick gel. It doesn't brush on evenly and you don't really paint with it, you sort of put down a drop and spread it over the detail you're working on.
If you wanted nice coverage you'd still need to apply it to each flat surface otherwise you'd get a streaky finish. It would also look the best if you pre-shaded the metallic underlayer and then applied this. Then it could actually have some depth.
If you try to apply a lot of it at once with a large brush, the golem will end up slightly tinted metallic finish with some coloured gunk in the details.
I tried using it on a spare mini just to see how it would look. The result looked more like Slimer flew through it than a gem statuette. And it is a pain in the *** to work with as it dries a lot longer - touched an area by accident? It'll either peel or you'll leave a fingerprint.
It would be nowhere near as low effort as you imagine. Might take less effort to make a casting of the Golem in clear resin

Try a mix of little metallic color with your base coat just to give it a slight glint. Use gold in warmer colors, silver in cold colors.

Edit: I I find the slimed up sucker I mentioned I'll post a pic. I think it was the IA smuggler.

That's true, I stuck to three base colours, a wash and a highlight with no weathering or final touches. Something which I think can be done in bulk with hopefully not too much issues. Only another 47 reanimates to go, 32 archers, four carrion lancers, eight infantry command models, Ardus, Maro and mounted version Maro.
At which point I have all the humans to do but realistically Deathknights and Wraiths will arrive first! ?

I finally got a chance to sit down and get serious with my elves. When I had finished my first 2 trays of archers I was a little concerned that I had over emphasized the autumn colours on the bases.  But once I got the scions done I felt more comfortable with this choice.
To paraphrase the project management scope triangle, see if you can guess my job, there is quality, speed and volume (usually cost), pick two you can never have all three.  So with this in mind I pick speed and volume, I often go back over armies at a later date once they are tabletop ready to bring up the quality. At that stage I'll do the eyes and highlight more. I'm even thinking about stringing the bows, something I have not done before but it looks good once done.
By the end of today I hope to have the the next 24 archers done, I might even base coat all of my battlecats.

So here's the final product.  If I wanted to make them a little more fancy I might do the eyes as well.  Perhaps after I finish my first 200pts

Looks great @Muz333. No need to change a thing. I might push the eye glow effect to make sure it shows at a distance, but that mostly depends on your lighting situation and personal preference.
