C2K got a reaction from Eldan985 in Return to Carcosa player cards
I think Eat Lead (0) is pretty good early on in a campaign. Guardians don't have much token manipulation, and this is like a Grotesque Statue for shooting your guns.

C2K got a reaction from Carthoris in Cycle V: The Dream-Eaters
Versatile is pretty strong in solo play. You might be able to solo with more investigators now because you can add the Shortcuts, the Delves, etc. to investigators who needed something like that to do campaigns solo.
Outside of the Preston/Ross combo(which I don't think is OP. Preston could use some love), I feel like Versatile diminishes its returns the more players you add to the game, because you can specialize in a multiplayer variant and it does make scenarios easier.

C2K got a reaction from phillos in Other Investigators for Dreamlands?
I think Guard dog might be better for Tommy than Brother Xavier. I feel like Brother Xavier is just way too expensive unless you find a way to have him absorb everything. It might even take too long. You need cheap damage soaks that will either pay for themselves or grant you more than you invested if you want to use Tommy's ability economically.

He would benefit from the Leveled up version of Peter Sylvester, and his Elder sign ability would be able to move horror on to Peter .
The real econly is in Leather Coat/Cherished Keepsake though. Free soak items that constantly recur, give you two resources when they leave play.

just upgrade your deck to eucatastrophe and reshuffle your deck when you need to.

C2K got a reaction from Krysmopompas in Return to the Path to Carcosa
Path to Carcosa, both basic and I expect "Return to", was the one campaign that really felt bland playing solo. I encourage everyone to get a group together and play through it. I also think its one of the best entry points for group play in the entire game.

C2K got a reaction from Ignithas in The Jade Throne Podcast
I have always argued that the role locking was bad for the game, especially with elemental locked cards. L5R was the lcg so far where a pack came out and after seeing the contents said "I don't need to own this one". Considering that ffg wants to cycle l5r faster due to story implications, certain cards might only be playable for brief time, and then find their way into your binder never to be played again.

I don't think they can run out. They made about 3-4 new investigators when Mansions of Madness 2e came out. Daniela was created in the last expansion of Eldritch Horror. Making new interesting investigators is probably the hardest, most time consuming part of the Arkham Files series, but they have not been afraid to do it.

Lily Chen seems like she would be a guardian, because her story is about protecting others against threats they cannot fend off themselves. I wonder if she is going to have a power similar to her Eldritch Horror variant, where she can trade damage between her health and her sanity. I also think she will be stated 7-7 in health and sanity respectively.
Also, having Lily do +1 damage on attacks in which she has her hands free of assets doesn't seem so OP, because eventually, as a guardian, you want a weapon that does more than +1 damage to deal with endgame threats.

A bit of a tangent, but if you want to be a true servant of Azathoth, when someone plays On The Hunt at Mandy's location, she can make them draw 2 enemies.
In some cases that can be a great play too, but in most cases you are trolling your teammate lol.

C2K got a reaction from Carthoris in Unwilling to buy 2 core sets. Should I pass on this game?
I look at the old "multiple core" system as safe buy ins to the game. $40 is an easier initial investment than $80. and ffg probably needs to charge around $80 to make a profit printing a full core playset. its a business after all.
I don't know much about Marvel Champions yet, but i am concerned, especially if the card pool is small. There might be little to no customizability in the decks, and thats the one thing i enjoy in card games. its very possible, with the success of keyforge, ffg might be looking at card games that don't require deckbuilding because they fit the casual player. so atm, i don't know if Marvel Champions will be for me.

Murder at the Excelsior seems like the Arkham Nights/Invocation event scenario.

The max hand size is a permanent effect. You only check for your max hand size during the upkeep phase, but you have a max hand size.
