  1. I am late, thank you S4ul0 and RoockieBoy for clarifying this.

     

    We agreed to do that way since we agreed it would not affect the game result, that is, as simple as that.

     

     

    I moved howlrunner before black squadron to have a more confortable activation phase since it would not affect the game flow in any way. But we missed that having moved before my opponent inquisitor a not legal situation arisen, so we agreed he could not target lock howlrunner since I moved it but she should not be there yet.


  2. For me the answer is easy, no. As long as spending points on those secondary weapons, and I would include bombs as well, means spend actions to use them, they does not worth the cost, since most of the good and usual in competitive play upgrades are the ones that grants free actions in several ways, allowing you to have better defense or offense as well as free actions or tokens. As long as secondary weapons needs TL or action to drop a bomb, for me are useless, the only exception is proton rockets since they do not need action to shot them since focus is the usual action and you can decide to use it on defende or on offense, and also hits with 5 die while the Awing only attacks with 2/3 dice, so significantly increases the ship attack for a dangerous one, and I can not say the same for others secondary weapons.


  3. From my point of view, for 24 points Ywing with tlt is more solid than Bwing with fcs.

    So again a ship is displacing others, like it happened with Bwing compared to Xwing.

     

    I think a fix is needed, kihraxz is not used as well because of his lack of boost/barrell roll, Also Ewing generic pilots are not playable, very expensive for PS1 or 3... same happens with starviper generic pilots.

     

    I think there is need of some fixes to see all this ships in play.

    A good and cheap cannon could help on M3A and Bwings while a good droid lowering point cost could help Xwing and Ewing. Maybe the Kihraxz can have a tittle to allow droid or system upgrade.

  5. Mmmh i think the question here is, why I must wait to not doing a regular attack to be able to use this card?if that is the cae why this card is not written like "[ATTACK]: ...."? and it is just saying that allows me to do an effect instead of attacking,... that is different.

    I think this card effect could be triggered if dont have any enemy in arc of fire or range. 


  6. I don not see the point of this upgrade, you have to skip your attack, but you have to be able to attack and skip it.

    Then you get a damage and an ion token, then an opponent ship at range 1 suffers 1 damage....

     

    I see a lot of drawbacks... at first sight it seems useless.

    Anyway i still dont understand why the decimator dial, falcon dial and probably outrider dial is much better than the one for a ywing, bwing, bomer, lambda, crow or xwing... i am wondering what is the real relation between evade and maneuvaerability in this game because it makes no sense to me, i think between those ships there are a few with better evasion capabilities and their stats say so.

     

    Those ships NEED good dials or they would be useless. Those turret ships have a LOT of points invested in one ship that only has one attack. They are already a big target. The only way to be successful with a ship like that is to avoid other arcs as much as possible.

     

    If those ships had the same dial as a shuttle, they would be easily focused down in a couple rounds and there goes your 50-60 point ship. They need a good dial to be at all viable.

     

     

    I am afraid to disagree your point, if that ship with 360º turret  is expensive in points and is only one shot, the dial has NOT to be good than other ships with theoric higher evade and maneuverability capabilities. The solution is not a MUST on good maneuverability but to low point cost for that kind of ships and have a more logic dial  for such ship.

     

    So that is a falcon with no 1 turn and a 3 bank red, but you can low point cost by i dont know... 4? I am not a designer but they should think about how many points.

     

     

    Indeed shuttles are good ships regardless of their dial but for their point cost. Man, those ships are economic in points, that make them as good as they are.

     

    Points can adjust whatever is needed.

  9. In what way do you believe that the double Falcon list is already overpowered? The Falcon certainly shows up near the top in alot of events, but not many double of the Falcon builds that seem to draw your ire. And what do you perceive Dash adds to a list that has to sacrifice something to include him?

     

    Dash include a new ship with unpredictable movements. So that means it is hard to have within your firearc, that means shots lost and that means ships killing yours while yours watch the space...


  10. Sorry If anyone got offended by my post, Its true my manners were not the best precisely, but was not the point of posting here.

    It is just I am really upset because FFG is supporting a list that is IMHO overpowered while other ships like Ywing or advanced tie still in stone age. I love the game and the wave 5 is announced like ok, the game is going to be more and more boring because of 360º ships.


  11. Negroscurro ascoltami. I tried the previews of wave 5. Dash crew member and Dash pilot are not broken in the slightest. As a matter of fact, it Im of the opinion that Dash crew member is not worth 2 points, maybe 1. . Landing on asteroids hardly ever happens if you are good. If you are bad, or purposefully land on the asteroids, then it comes up a bit more, but its mitigated by the fact that half the time you are damaging your ship.

     

    The second half of his ability is much more powerful than the first half. It means that Biggs hiding behind an asteroid at RB3 gets one less evade die. It means that any blocking huge ships will not give a +1 die defence advantage to those behind it (really hoses the EM Transmitter.) 

     

    As for the Outrider title, its really good, not necessarily with the HLC, especially with the new barrel roll rules. 

     

    With respect to dual YT1300, they are not that hard to beat, as you only have 2 shots of offensive output, and because of this you have to maximize it, so you need to slap 2 gunners on them, which reduces the amount of defensive tech you get. HLCs burn down YT1300 and Phantoms. Just you wait until people realize the true power of the TIE Defender. 

     

    It is good to know that it is balanced, in fact I am not truly talking about umbalance but metagame. Metagame is moving in a way that xwings and ties are ships to forget.

    Im a month and a half of wave 4, I saw no swarms... just phantoms and falcons. Some lambdas and Bwings with roark garnet and some players testing defender and z95.

     

    I agree the second part of Dash Rendar card is more interesting than the first one.

     

    Double Falcons are not hard to beat but people play it with gunners and exploit to the top the skill to reroll dice until they get 2 crits and 2 impacts and your tie blows up, one by one.

     

    Defender is overcost, no use for me. I wil rather uise a firespray for that cost. Whisper is better than Soontir and conditions how to play your squad. If you dont put it down quickly it will blow your ships one by one. I think turn 1 white, 4 attack dice and 4 defense dice is a combination hard to beat and decloaking is wonderful to get positional advantage. 

     

    So the only way to fight against it efectively is through Han solo with veteran instincts. Thats why tables are full of falcons, and roark garnet giving 12 skill to beat whisper.


  12. I know how to run a swarm, It is my favourite squad, I won a LOT of championships with it, and I dont find it an easy thing to accomplish. Maybe you can teach me.

    Challenge accepted. Lets meet on vassal sometime. Ill give your choice of player level. Would you rather play as the skill player, or the monkey? Given your hypothesis that a monkey can win, I take it you will be playing as the monkey, so you can show me just how broken my own card is against me. Yes?

     

     

    Of course I won't accept that challenge of yours, it is a piece of cake to win someone knowing beforehand what he is going to field.

    Anyway you didnt understand my point, I am sorry for my english, is not my mother language. What I am saying is that metagame is runinig this game and this card entize people playing double falcon, like whisper the two overpowered lists. I dont say those lists are instant wins but tend to be unbalanced.

    Double falcons are boring and whisper is too good as it can win matches by itself after 1st and 2nd firing turns.

    IN the other hand swarms are almost unplayable because of whisper, and it is sad since I think it is a beautiful list to play and requires an skilled player to do a good approach, maneuver in close distance, avoid asteroyds and block your opponent.

    Now no one will field a swarm in nationals because of whisper and double falcons, just my guess. THey have gone form the top to the bottom of the metagame.

     

    My concern is xwing are no longer good choices because a Bwing is better, now swarms are not good enough to play in champsionships as well.. the 2 more important ships of the game are barely used.


  13. This is not an ONG but a game product, they make profit with this.

     

    Whisper could easiliy take a whole swarm, one by one.

     

    I am not saying that Dash Rendar breaks the game but the last deicisions taken by FFG points double falcon as overpowered list. So READ pleas, torunament points, whisper and Dash Rendar between other are things powering up double falcon squads.

     

    Wave 5 new ships with 360 degrees make the game boring. Currently there are more 360 firign arc ships than needed.


  14. What I said is not about my favourite list, double falcon is boring I hate it. It takes the better from this game and turn it into real randomness and boring, that could be run by the worst player successfully, no real skill needed. Man I saw whisper taking a 6 ship swarm just alone... it is crazy, metagame is between phantoms and yt-1300.

    And wave 5 looks like not going to fix this but make things worse.

     

    And I am upset about championship prizes, they are worst than any other game, wizkid's are much better.

    I still dont understand why a 3-0 is not a 3-1 in tournament scoring... really I would like to have an explanation.

     

    Ok things wont be like I would like them to be but I have to protest and claim for some attention for what FFG is doing, then they will do whatever they want as well as I will.

    I'd encourage you to admit that you were wrong, but mischaracterizing your claim is just silly when we can all go back and check.

    Second, you really are wrong. Dash makes the game more interesting, not less; now terrain can mean different things for some ships than for others. This is actually a kind of fascinating region of the design space, and almost no other game elements are located there.

    You could use this new crew card to reduce the impact of accidentally beaching yourself on a rock, but doing so is actually a cost: you're taking up a very valuable crew slot to fix an issue that could be repaired for free by flying better. What Dash actually does is allow a ship carrying it to execute guerrilla-style hit-and-run attacks from cover. That's not boring at all, at least in my opinion, but it's objectively not something a monkey can make use of.

     

     

    Metagame in my area is becoming more and more a scissors, rock and paper. That means regardless wihch squad you play you will get your result strongly depending on the pairing you get. Because there are lists so strong agains some others, there is no stable list but double falcons, that is possibly the most easy to play and have good chances against almost every type of squad.

     

    Against swarms have to be very well played and also against B with FCS. But apart form that is the best option against the game breakers, yes, I am referring to whisper, that ship is able to destroy an entire swarm without any help.

    So a lot of players will rely on using Han with VI for a champsionship, and nationals and worlds are close, metagame is getting crazy and a lot of people will run double falcons to have a stable and strong list like:

     

    han VI, gunner

    and

    chewi + VI, gunner

     

    So having no swarms since players are afraid of facing a Whisper and you could beat whispers with PS 11 and Han's skill.

     

    In the end this is the best and more stable list nowadays regardles if we like it or not. A newbie tend to play rebels like HSF and a double falcon is even easier to play and its favoured by the new torunament tie breaking rules since you have points while your stron falcons are on the board, while a swarm loses points for every 3 damage, I mean 9 damages are 3 ties dead so more or less 40 points lost while in a double falcon means 0 points lost.

     

    So another reason to play doubole falcon and IMHO playing falcons is quite boring, no really dogfight here, no firing arcs involved, no facing... that is the funny point of the game, to estimate movements and to  guess what your opponent is going to do. In fact asteroids are one of the most strategic things in the game since they condition your movement.

     

    And now wave 5 announces a yt2400 with a title that allows to carry a HLC to be used a 360º weapon and this Dash Rendar, that eases a newbie to take a falcon and shoot thorugh asteroids, one of veterans choices for defense... in fact it allows to forget about asteroids, ok, you lose your action but gunnner will do the job and a damage is a low price for a surprising maneuver leaving your firing arc wihtout any target and exposed to the falcon.

    There is a lot of advantage while running a falcon with this crew indeed there is no need of having much expertise to make the most of it.

     

    So again, IMHO, championship environment is more or less depending on scissors, rock and paper in pairings and anyone could field an easy to handle squad and win a tournament so this makes the game exciting and boring since a raffle, I find it absolutely random, dice are random but now this way a championship is pure randomness.

     

    Another issue is that using ions is not as effective as it used to be if you equipo this crew card since one of the best things of ionizing your opponent is not the damage he can take or the action he loses but having your opponent not firing you, now Dash Rendar helps with a lot of game aspects making a overpowered list to be more and more overpowered, of course its just an oppinion but I am sure we will probably see lists like:

     

    Han 46 IV 1, Dash Rendar 2 + C3PO/Recon Specialist (3) = 52

    Chewi 42 IV 1 + gunner 5 = 48

    100

     

    I am not a troll, I am a 1st line player and I am upset, just that and I defend my arguments and I would like to see the game going in a different direction, you may take this or leave it, but avoid being disrespectul please, this is not my mother tongue and I doing an effort to explain my point to you.

    If we consider that new tournament rules favor people with a double falcon squad... because they have better tchances oF not loosing a lot of points, so they usually get a very good tie breaking.

  18. Hello,

    I dont feel very confrotable with how the FFG software works. It classify players depending on the score and then it uses a tie breaking rules taking into account opponents scoring, but after that, the tie is decid by last name alphabetical order, you can check it in out last 116 persons regional tournament that took place in Madrid:
