  1. hello, I have been playing a version of the Star Wars RPG since the Rivsed edition from that other company. I have a 7 year old who is ready to play in an RPG and he loves Star Wars. I would like to run a campaign with him and my wife (and I'll have a GM character). My question is has anyone done a sucessful campagin with only 2 players or one with a young newbie? I am looking for a simple story that is kid friendly (PG rating) and not too complex so he won't get frustrated or overwhemed with everything. I figured there are many better GMs out there who must have done this before and would be able to give me some advise, what worked & what didn't, etc. thanks in advance PS I am posting this in the Edge of the Empire board as well.

  3. yes they do! it's Wed nights and I think they might alternate, but I'm not 100% sure. any way you could make it up to St. Joseph? we'd love to have you Thurs night.
  4. I apologize for taking so long to respond the 2nd time, work has me pretty busy right now. I understand not wanting to to to that tournament, they are pretty serious there but my group in St. Joe is pretty laid back. we won't be meeting next week but will the week after. maybe we can schedule a weekend you can come up and play and learn from us.
  5. this thread is monitored by myself and several others. can you give me more info about where you are located, etc? there is a big group in the Kansas City area. I myself am in St. Joseph, which is just north of KC. I am in charge of the league in that town. btw, there is a really cool tournament going on this Friday at game Cafe here's a link to it on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1576883935920569/?ref=2&ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming that store has a big group but they are very competitive. if you are looking for a lighter, laid back group I recommend the group at Limited Figures, but I am not sure how often they get together. :/ but you can look up the store on Facebook and ask the owner.
  6. I had a similar question, and I figured it would be better the post it here then start a new thread. I got the core set for my wife and I to play together (we don't do well with competitive games, but co-op, we do great, plus LOTR= brownie points ). anyways, we have the core set and would like to get more expansions to have more quests to play though once we get tired of the core ones. what expansions should I get in what order that would add to the game play but still be beatable with the core set + the expansion? thanks in advanced.
  7. did you pick up this project? awesome!! thanks! I use to use it a lot but since wave 4, i had to stop using it. thanks again.
  8. PS the link is geekery.biz if you add the "the" you get a tech blog
  9. awesome. I'll have to check it out. I live in St. Joseph, so Shawnee is pretty far for me, but I might try to swing down there from time to time.
  10. the Game Cafe group is nice and big and really competitive. it's a good group. as for the others I don't know. from what I hear the Tabletop group is a lot more laid back. but both places have tournaments on a regular basis.
  11. ok thanks guys. I figured as much but the rules didn't say. I thought it was interesting. thanks.
  12. anyone know if the group at Limited Figures i still meeting? my wife and I had our 2nd kid and I haven't had a chance to play much lately, but I'm heading to Worlds this week and would love to get back with you guys in the coming weeks.
  13. so I ap preparing for my 1st Worlds & I signed up for Escalation Friday. Quick question: the rules say I have to keep the same ship, but doesn't say anything about keeping the same pilot on that ship. could I do a Outer Rim Smuggler the 1st round and upgrade him to Chewie the 2nd?? thanks in advance.

    New FFG Article

Flechettes deal stress when you attack with them, regardless of whether they hit. But you can't get the splash damage from Assault Missiles (which requires hitting) and also trigger Munitions Failsafe (which requires missing). what about with Lt Blount? that would be a wicked combo.

    New FFG Article

I didn't know tat Failsafe still let the stress go through even if it didn't hit in the flechette torps. do you think the same is true for something like Assault Missiles?
  18. you are the man! thank you!! now I can start making all the new lists I keep thinking of! man I am never going to sleep tonight.
  19. agreed! there is a lot of complaining going on here lately. don't read it and keep up the GREAT work. now take more of my money!!!
  20. I've still not really wrapped my head around the significance of PS. Having PS12 during combat means you are guaranteed to shoot first. You can have a ps2 bwing blast a fel+vi off the board, or give a doomed ship one last shot. It's also up to your discretion when and how to use each turn, adding a bit of unpredictability. Well I know that. It's just that I don't have the experience to know what PS is good for what situation. BElieve me, I read the rules. that PS 12 makes a HUGE difference. think about it, you have a loq PS ship, move 1st (or close to it) and can now shoot 1st. it saved a couple of my ships tonight even. I can't wait for Rebel aces so I can do a combo of Kyle handing off a focus to Arvel after he bumps. think about it, if he has a proton rocket he can shoot it at a ship he collided withif Kyle gives him a focus. also I agree 100% I love the HWK. it is an underdog (which is why I play it) and EVERYONE ignores it. that with an ICT is a great way to setup a deadly range 1 atk from another ship like Wedge or even ordnance for the next turn. needless to say every list I make has my HWK in it.
  21. I love your squad builder. it's the only one I use & I spend way too much time there the only issue I have with it is sometimes when I am building a squad the top ship's maneuvers pops up and won't go away. the only other thing that happens to me when I use it is if I leave it open too long I have to refresh it and I loose the squad I had open, but that nothing important bc I can save it or print it later instead of leaving the window open for...days. honestly, I can't think of anything to add to your squad builder. it does everything I want or need very effectively. I guess make a mobile version so I can use it on my phone or tablet? that's all I can think of. again thanks for a great squad builder and thanks for keeping it up to date with all the new upcoming ships and cards FFG "leaks" to us. I have been playing around with the Rebel Aces squads a lot and I love being able to do that. thanks again.
  22. thank you sir for this article and for the bump! it helped me find it today! I agree this needs to be stickied. also I got that same laser from harbor freight. it's really useful and for $5 it's a no brainer.
  23. hello, sorry no one got back to you here. most of us in this group don't get on these forums much anymore. ok so there are several great groups you can connect with. Table Top just had an X-Wing tournament last Sat (though it wasn't the Imdaar Alpha, just a store tourney). they are in Overland Park. website: http://tabletopgameandhobby.com/ I also would recommend Game Cafe in Independence, MO those guys are awesome and have a great league going there. http://www.playgamecafe.com/ I hope that helps and I hope to see you around.
