  1. Happy Thanksgiving!! Today I wanted to talk about what else those tickets received from donating food to the Feed the Force Food Drive Event will let you do. The more food you donate the stronger in the Force are you. So why not use that Force to aid you in your battles. Below is a list of abilities you can use during your matches to sway the tide of battle in your favor or deter your enemy. Force Abilities When you turn in food for raffle tickets you will get two tickets per non-perishable food item you donate. One will be for placing into the various raffle prize drawings to be drawn at the end of the day. The second ticket will be used to purchase force abilities during your matches throughout the day. To use a force ability pay the cost in ticket to activate as needed. (aka: each map will have a bin for tickets. As you pay the cost to use a power place your tickets in the map bin.) Below is a list of “force” abilities and costs: - Two (2) tickets will allow you to change one of your red Focus die results to a Hit result. (Once per die roll) - Three (3) tickets will allow you to change one of your red Hit die results to a Crit result. (Once per die roll) - Three (3) tickets will allow you to change one of your green Focus results to an Evade result. (Once per die roll) - Three (3) tickets will allow you to fire ordinance without spending a Target Lock. - Five (5) tickets will allow you to change the position of one asteroid from its original position. (Use a Straight One template, move asteroid before any ships move) - Five (5) tickets will allow you to re-roll all your green or red dice. - Five (5) tickets allow you to add one additional obstacle to a map after all obstacles have been placed. - Eight (8) tickets allow you to ignore the effects of stress for the turn. (any stress remains on the ship) - Ten (10) tickets allow you to remove all stress from a ship.
  2. Besides bringing food you can earn tickets by playing games. The Feed the Force Event is a play as many games as you can free-for-all. The more games you play the more tickets you can earn which can be used in the raffle. Don't like the list you started with, change it up and earn tickets. Tired of playing 100 point duels, make s 75 point list on the fly and earn more tickets... you get the picture. Below lists the ways in which you can earn tickets every match. In addition to the below every hour there will be a challenge that will net you more tickets for completing a special objective. Kelpie Games Food Drive Free for All Scoring - Win a match (singles): Three (3) Tickets - Lose a match (singles): One (1) Ticket - Win a match (doubles): Five (5) Tickets (per player) - Lose a match (doubles): Two (2) Tickets (per player) - Win an Epic Match (single, doubles, or group): Eight (8) Tickets (per player) - Lose an Epic Match (single, doubles, or group): Four (4) Tickets (per player) - Play a new opponent: One (1) Ticket (Haven’t played them before) - Play on a new map: One (1) Ticket - Play a 75 point match: Two (2) Tickets - Play a 100 point match: Three (3) Tickets - Play a 125 point match: Four (4) Tickets - Have ship destroyed by asteroid: One (1) Ticket - Roll all blanks on green dice (min. of 4 dice rolled): Two (2) Tickets (once per match) - Roll all crits on red dice (min. of 3 dice rolled): Two (2) Tickets (once per match)

    Where in Chicago??

Gaming Goat is a chain store in Oak Park. The "Goats" specialize in card games and board games. There are several locations in the Chicago area. The one in Oak Park is the only one that I know of that has an active X-Wing community. The "Goat" in Geneva, Elgin, and Schaumburg do not have anything happening for X-Wing. Other locations besides these three may vary.

    Acrylic range rulers

Absolutely zero information on any of their products? Mats are made of what ...... paper, cotton, transparent aluminum??? Rulers are made of what ..... wood, acrylic, marble, unobtainium?? Are we just suppose to guess? The rulers and tokens I have are acrylic. The mat, that I won at a tournament, is a vinyl product. Similar to the GF9 material but less slick, though it scratches a bit like the GF9 mat. Sorry, I meant the website has no info on their products, not ypur post. Unless of cpurse ypu run that website. No worries! I agree they need a LOT MORE product description. However templates and tokens are pretty good.

    Where in Chicago??

Best to check out the Facebook group Windy City Squadron for tons of locations in Chicago and the Suburbs. Where in the Chicago Metro area are you located? Dice Dojo is in Chicago proper but more North Side. Games Plus in Mount Prospect has a great group that meets regularly on Fridays. Pasttimes in Niles is also a great location. If you are closer to Aurora/Naperville there is Draxtar in Batavia(not sure how regularly they meet) or Fair Game in Downers (again not sure what night they meet... rumor was Monday nights) Then there is Unique Gifts and Games in Grayslake and far out west is Keplie Games in DeKalb.
  9. Thanks to all who came out on a warm (very warm) and foggy Saturday! While the turnout was sparse the attendees were very generous as we broke last year's food donations by about 100 items bringing in 303 items. I appreciate such generosity for the community and hope that everyone had a great time. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year when we Feed the Force once again!
  10. Kelpie Games the Westest most games store of the Chicago Western Suburbs!!

    Batavia, IL Tourney January 2nd

Unless there is a 40K tourney going on. Having played in other game tourneys there you should have 4 of the five tables unless something else is scheduled. In general a nice gaming space, plenty of room.

    My Imperials CAN'T BEAT ACKBAR!!!

Remember if you are the second player you control objectives and force him to move to contest you on those objectives. If not you score easy points (and win) or if the game ends in a tie the second player wins.
