  1. Great Looking Balanced Rules Imminent Release Pick Two. Honestly, I can understand you from a point of view of "He got an ice cream, I want one too!" Yea, I'm an Imp player too, and I want a nice Epic ship as well. But I just finished buying TWO a month or two ago. I haven't even had time to game them ONCE. Give FFG a break, they havn't wronged us yet. And GW have. Almost every day. *pats my nephilim jetfighter* It's okay, I'm sure the 8th edition codex will give you a decent cost and ruleset. But till then, the wolf gunships make you a $100 paperweight.
  2. I would love to see a Corsec faction if nothing more than to see X-wings (one piloted by Corran Horn no less) side by side with TIE Interceptors.
  3. Well, to be fair, the Dark Lord is the only pilot that makes the ship good. So there is no reason NOT to pilot him right now anyways...

  5. I'm KINDA hoping for X-wings and Interceptors in the 3rd faction simply to make a CorSec themed force... But seeing as those 2 are pretty iconic for both factions, it would likely not happen.

  8. with Fleet Officer (3) And Veteran Instincts (1) With Ysanne (4) Tactical Jammer (1) Determination (1) Fly Captain Kirk between the admiral for a free evade, and if they shoot kirk then he gets super tanky real quickly. The Admiral can provide focus for the both of them allowing kirk to focus for flex or go all out attack with Target Lock. 32 HP isn't going to shift quickly and those turrets will see your opponents frustrated at every turn.
  9. I almost want to run the rear admiral and Kenkirk (who will obviously only be referred to as Capt. Kirk) together. 10 points for upgrades can make them pretty punchy too.
  10. I also bought it to simply throw dice while on break at work, for theory crafting. I was expecting something half arsed, and when I first got it, I thought it was. But when you figure out the short-cuts its actually not bad, and I'd say I could probably throw the dice and modify quicker than someone with real dice, so no problem of slowing the game there. But thats with me looking at the screen. Trying to crowd 2 people around it may be more interesting. I'd give it a try, but like all FFG products, its not bad. Perhaps a tad overpriced for what you get, but not bad.

    I suck at X-wing.

    As they say, you can take the world champions list and lose with it. You may be changing too often. You don't know what works and what doesn't work after the change, and some of it has to do with your opponents lists changing as well. Find something you LIKE to fly, and game it 3-4 times before changing. Then you can learn and adapt to FLYING your list properly, then take the math-hammer to it and change it slightly.
  12. Kind of like Star Trek Attack Wing but to scale? Honestly, I wouldn't mind TOO much about something like this where a star destroyer is the size of a millennium falcon... But I just can't see it working out well. Maybe once X-Wing is wrapped up, its a possibility, but the two would play too similarly and call from the same players that they would via too much for the same attention. I'd probably buy the miniatures, but I'd choose one or the other to play, not both.

    Looks great. I think a light wash to bring out the details would finish it off real well.
  14. Do you get lots of use from the targeting computer on Fel? I used to have one as well, but after a tourney and using it once when I was pretty much garunteed a win, it didn't feel worth its points.
  15. Ion a ship off the board Destroy a full health ship in one shot with a secondary weapon Destroy a ship with less attack dice than defense dice rolled. Choose the maneuver for a stressed ship that your opponent revealed a red maneuver for. Win a match with your last ship against at least 3 other ships. As Luke destroy Vader or as Vader destroy Luke. As Wedge destroy Soontir Fel or as Soontir Fel destroy Wedge. Same can be done for Boba Fett and Han, and a few others who had rivalries. Destroy an enemy ship who still has one or more shield tokens (Proton Bomb) Re-roll a hit to a crit (not change, but with an actual roll) Destroy 5 ships or more with a single ship in a single game. Beat the store champion

    B-Wing Expanded

    Keyan Farlander can use a stress as a focus to increase hits increasing power level... Nera Dantels can fire protons on a turret increasing his power level and admittedly versatility. But still both pilots are more power level mongers than the TIE/Defender pilots.
  17. Well, coming from a different perspective, you do already have the 40k armies and models, and the gift was given with the idea that you would build and play it. Even if nothing more than a display model, it would probably help your friend more seeing paint on it than another 8-10 star wars ships. Unless there is a rush to get said ships, just wait for his birthday to come around and dump them all on him. At the very least, talk with the owners privatly, don't make a scene, and explain your case. Even go so far as to tell them you buy from them to support them when you can buy elsewhere for cheaper. People can be reasonable
  18. Okay, so the scenario was this: I moved my ship past 1 enemy ship and then bumped into a second. I thought you backtrack until you can fit, so between them in this case. My opponent said no, you back track all the way to your start, then stop at the first enemy ship. Hard to explain, so lets try an example: X O O X bieng me, and O's bieng enemy ships. My move was: X-O---->O I thought the rules would end up with O XO where I collided but, but he insisted I would end up: XO O keeping me in arc of the second ship. I wasn't going to dispute him as he had more experience than myself, but I simply don't think this is correct. Who was right?
  19. If you activate Fleet Officer, you can't barrel roll (so no arc-dodging with your action this turn) or cloak (so no arc-dodging outside your action next turn). You need some kind of way to get a step ahead of the action economy, I think. I'm thinking of just cloaking and leaving it cloaked. That takes care of the previous issue as well as if I can see an arc dodge opportunity, you could de-cloak, arc-dodge and either buff the defenders, or the phantom as needed.
  20. A list that can't be made until wave 5 hits, but I'm excited to give it a try when it does. Here is the break down: TIE/D Delta Squadron Pilot with HLC - 37 TIE/D Delta Squadron Pilot - 30 TIE/P Shadow Squadron Pilot with Fleet Officer and Stealth Device - 33 The list is to capitalize on the fear of the Phantoms right now. The job of the Phantom would be to arc dodge as much as possible and pass focus onto the defenders for their shots and evades, and since the TIE/D's have a low piloting skill you will have a good idea if you can spend that focus for your attack roll since most ships will have already shot already. The average evade results with 5 dice is 1.875, and 2.25 with 6 dice. If the enemy focus' down the phantom, that is fine, it buys time for the defenders to chew down the enemy. If they go for the Defenders, the double focus will help boost your 3 evade dice results and (hopefully) attacks. And if it comes down to it, the Phantom can always help out if it sees the opportunity to do so Think it has any potential?
  21. I really want to love the Defender, but the lack of generic with EPT really takes the wind out of my sails. Imperial Aces 2 with TIE/A and TIE/D please ^.^
