  1. For the record, when you walk into MM there is an entire wall of every single X-wing product. Plus they hold tournaments nearly every month. So while they are one of the "evil olgs's", they are a pretty good lgs as well. most online retailers have a B&M store specifically because it is a contractual necessity in order to get product from a distributor. That may be but I was responding to your point about online stores not promoting & shelf space. To that point, MM locally does a very good job at promoting the product every bit as much as the other game stores in town. While I am a bit miffed that I will have to spend more at my lgs (who is also an olgs) to subsidize other game stores, I won't lose any sleep over it. It is still a great price.

  3. I'm thinking that new action for the K-wing is a new boost. Maybe it can only go straight but it can use the 1 or 2 templates. Someone suggested elsewhere that it was some type of munitions recycler. I like it but I think that the Punisher would have to have access to it as well if that was the case.
  4. They're too big. Just the Nebulon-B frigate would be like three feet long on the table. Interesting. I was wondering about Nebulon just because the CR90 and the Nebulon B in Armada are similar in size Armada uses a sliding scale for its ships. Otherwise it would get unweildly. X-wing has a firm scale of 1/270 for small and large ships. Epic ships use a different scale (I forget what it is) but it is still a fairly firm one. Edit: grammar and 'd
  5. My post was a bit tongue in cheek. But yes, I agree with you that they could have done it that way as well. I think there are many who would have rather it be done like that. I am not unhappy with the direction they chose though.
  6. All of this reminds me when the first EU ships were introduced into the game. It was, "I don't want those made up EU ships in my game." Now it is "I don't want those other made up EU ships in my game."
  7. My theory on it is this. FFG need bombers for the ordinance fix. The problem is the K-wing is the only one left for the Rebels (that I can come up with) and a few selections for the Empire. Also everybody knows the k-wing is, well lets say aesthetically challenged. If the Rebs got the kwing and the Imps got the awesome XG-1, they would be up in arms about it. So, that is why we got the Inderdictor/Punisher, to balance out the unhappiness of the factions. For the record, I don't think they have jumped the shark. Are these my first choices, no. But the sky ain't falling either. Not to mention there are people who were really looking forward to these.
  8. Did you spot the crashed T65 in the foreground of that shot? It looks like an X-wing to me. Incom T65 = X-wing just like Koensayn BTL-A4 = Y-wing. D'oh! I totally read that post as a T-16 Skyhopper. Need more caffine. Thanks for the correction.

  10. Yup, me too. I also only play at home so I do not feel obligated to patron another store. Plus, the discount from MM is the only way X wing (and board games in general) fits into my budget.
  11. Dang, I just bought the HCD starfield one a couple of weeks ago after my homemade one finally crapped out. I might buy these as well depending what MM will charge for them. I'm gonna need something for armada.
  12. I know. I feel ashamed for not noticing it before this thread. Gah, why did I read this thread. I could have been blissfully ignorant.
  13. The starboard engine is anchored in the wrong spot. Should be near the front of the engine. Edit: Well the front-ish (first 1/3) part of the engine.
  14. I only play casually but even in that arena missiles & torps are not very useful. I think each one is a good representative of the way they worked in the old video games. The one and only house rule we have is that you do not have to spend the TL or focus to fire it but you do have to have it. We like that solution because it lets them hit more reliably and it does not add a bunch of rules and/or additional cards we have to remember. I couldn't tell you if it makes ordnance more useful in a competitive setting but we like it. Also, I really like the idea of ordnance dice. It will never happen officially but it sounds intriguing. Might have to try that out when I get a hold of armada.
  15. I like a lot of variety and running odd lists but I try to keep the purchase for each wave around $100-120 (MM prices). Usually that works out to 3 of each small ship and 1 of each large ship. There are a few exceptions but that is my general pattern. With S&V I am doing it a bit differently though. I am getting 1 Most Wanted, 3 Scyks, 2 Star Vipers & 2 Aggressors. Worked out to be around $120 or so. I decided to switch out the third Star Viper for a second Aggressor because of the IG-2000 title. I don't think i'll need a second MW set. May also buy that third Star Viper but we'll see once I have everything in hand and played with. Anyway, I think that will be a good Scum faction right out off the gate.
