I feel like coop works better for the setting. Either that or like some sort of asymmetrical game.

this is a co-op more akin to the LoTR LCG or Warhammer Quest or the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game.

Yeah same problem here. A store in the area tried a Netrunner night but it died pretty quick, most of the others don't even bother. It's frustrating since I want to play but man is it difficult to find people without going to some store a hour away on a weeknight.

Join the club. I look at 3 hour round trips to go somewhere to play. And this annoying thing called employment means no weeknight gaming (still a 3 hour round trip), which of course is when all the league stuff is happening. It's a great game but no one seems to play it.

I'd have to say that in my area, the game is . . . anemic. I know there are players, because every time I go past the FFG shelves in my local game store, there's a different amount of SWLCG stuff. But the reason--in my mind, at least--that less-organized play at stores doesn't really happen is due to three things. The first is Magic: The Gathering. The second is Android: Netrunner.
Lastly, the third is that guy that shows up to pretty much every organized play event, wipes the floor with everyone and is a total prick about everything. You know the guy. He's the kind of guy that is beating you to death, and has a totally apathetic attitude toward it all. He takes it for granted that he's going to win. You'd reach across the table and punch him if it was socially acceptable, and not many people would get upset about it.
But the worst part about 'that guy' is that when you are trying to bring in a new player, an experience like that is going to be absolutely toxic. I know that if my first experience had been against that guy at that one store, I probably would play a lot less than I do. So, as I cite to my kids all the time, remember Rule Zero: Don't be a jerk. But that's my two cents.

I'll echo Julia's comments: since you already own EH i'd deepen the experience first by getting an expansion. You could go with MoM, although if you could swing it I'd also toss in Forsaken Lore as it expands all the decks so you see less repeats. For example, you get an additional two mysteries per AO (setting a new standard of # mystery cards = 2 * number needed to solve before AO wakes up).
AH is a lot of fun (context: I own all the expansion and have logged over 200 games), but as noted by Juiia it will require some time and commitment. Also, if you only own the base game, then once you learn how things work it is real easy to win, so you'll need some expansions in order to bring back the challenge. And then once you get one expansions, you'll want more and more (and AH has a lot)!

Hey - I'm wondering if anybody on this forum is located in Utah - specifically, Provo. That's where I am for the time being. Just picked the game up - haven't even played a round yet.
