I can't believe this thread, why the **** are people taking any kind of weapon to a place that they are playing a game for fun? If you honestly believe it's a good idea to take a gun to an X-Wing (or any gaming) event then I feel really sorry for you; If you are that scared of your fellow humans then you need therapy (anxiety therapist really help with that kind of thing).

purplemonkeyandy reacted to DarthSempai in How to fix the V19-torrent
Many players seem to be of the opinion that the V19-Torrent just aren't good enough. They're cheap filler similar to Z-95 or Tie-Fighter, but without the support, dials or ability necessary to make them work, and any missile on them seems to be over costed with the difficulty of getting a TL (even with synchronized console). Moreover, the PS3 with an EPT is costed approximately 2 points too much when compared to almost every other ship out there (who usually pay 2 points for a jump from I1 to I3 + an EPT).

How would you like this fix : the Blue Squadron Protector gets a second missile slot.

The gold squadron trooper with barrage rocket could potentially be too good, being a cheaper Tie-Bomber with Brocket and access to reroll with sinker, I can see with it would be unpleasant to face a swarm of those. However, why not make use of the ''overcostedness' of the Blue Squaddie to justify an extra slot, like they are doing with the Hyenas. This way, there is a legitimate reason to pay those extra points and they give the torrents generics that usually complement jedi and ARC's a bit more flexibility, either as cheap blocker or as small missile boat, without being too cheap that you can just spam 6 of those.

    Thoughts?

Strain gives us a use for R5-TK!

Don't know about you guys but i find most games aren't really much longer than 3-4 rounds. This means if the card is drawn early enough it can be worth at most 8 points, likely less.
If the opponent gets it early on you know it. At which point you can focus on sabine. If they hide sabine they are potentially only just earning her points back. There are also other ways to get rid of it via command cards (negation, spy cards) and a few other methods (e.g. Mak, Blaise).

If the games are only three turns long, the card is on average worth less than 4 points and requires sabine not too die. If you're being so protective with sabine then chances are you're not going to get much more points out of her than this. If you're not being protective with Sabine a sensible opponent would remove her.
It's a good card, i just feel it's a bit of an exaggeration to call it overpowered/broken. Like most new things it will just require some adapting too.

Seems like a cool idea. We had one for doing a bad list tournament, where you have to come up witht the worst (usable) list possible and swap lists withyour opponent. More challenging than you think!
Also, probably not making a huge difference, but a couple of command cards missing from the no 16 list: new orders and force push.
