So I'm wanting to make a young, brash stereotypical hotshot type of pilot but I'm very much wanting to make him a expert at modifying his fighter to have a rather large amount of weapons and be as deadly as possible. Ideally I would like him piloting a KST-100 since it isn't much larger than a regular fighter and comes stock with 4hp, 6hp with Custom Loadout, and I could get away with piloting it "solo" if I have an astromech co-pilot but worst case scenario I'll shoot for the Z95 Heavy as his signature ship, as with Custom Loadout he'd be sitting at 3hp to customize it. Definitely would prefer the slightly larger but far more easily modifiable(and therefore more armaments/armor/speed) KST-100 over other options but if someone has a better suggestion I'm open to hear them. I know I definitely want Modder and Rigger, but I'm unsure which should take priority over the other and I'm unsure whether I should go with Hotshot, Operator, Gunner or Pilot as my "base" spec. I plan on eventually(when I can comfortably afford it) picking up both the Avionics cybernetics and the gunnery goggles. As for race, I'm debating between Human, Duros and Sathari and can't decide which. Any and all advice is welcome! Thanks in advance!

  4. I could have sworn I read somewhere that you had to pay 1 HP for the initial weapon, plus 1 HP per each "rank" of Linked but I'm not sure and that might just be me remembering falsely. If it's only 1 HP for the 4 torpedo Linked(3) system, I'm about to be a very happy man.
  5. Just to clarify something, if I wanted to add 4 proton torpedo pods to a ship a la TIE-IT/Punisher with it Linked 3 torpedoes of doom, it would cost... 4HP... right?
  6. What does the KST-100 look like? I've never seen one before but that sounds perfect for the crew
  7. Roommate does intend to be fairly decent at piloting as he plans on being a smuggler so the ship is semi important. After looking through a bunch of options and presenting them with those options they've decided on the Wayfarer Medium Freighter as their ship of choice.
  8. I'll most likely be making the monkey-lizard an NPC as an ally to the Sathari character. Thanks for all the advice and links, they've helped immensely. Now I'm just stuck deciding what I'd like to use as his mount, since it'll essentially be a non-combatant and operate mainly as a "vehicle". As for the hounds, I'll be going with 2 force bonded Albeks since they're extremely close to Geonosian Massifs in appearance and are about exactly what I was going for.
  9. This is for a different game, in which I'll be playing. The GMPC idea was dropped from my campaign.

Aside from the Beast Rider using mounts(which I plan for this character and/or Force Bonded) is there any way to have, say, a couple hunting hound like companions(Geonosian Massifs maybe?) and a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard as pets for a character? Ideally, I would like for my "beastmaster" Sathari character to have a mount(haven't decided what to ride yet), a couple pet hounds, and a Monkey-Lizard who rides on his shoulder and engages in fights alongside him(if at all possible). If it is possible I'd like to have the monkey-lizard armed with a scattergun of some sort. Worst case scenario I'm willing to use droid stats to represent the monkey-lizard since he is partially cybernetic as per the character's backstory(cybernetic leg, arm and eye). Any suggestions? Is this even possible?
  11. I have an upcoming mini campaign I'm running with my girlfriend and my bestfriend(roommates) and I'm planning on the game being just the two of them for now. If others end up interested in joining, awesome, but for now they're just a duo. Best friend is a stealthy/smuggler type, girlfriend is a gunslinger pistolero type, I'm contemplating adding in a third character as sort of a "DMPC" but I'm waiting until I'm sure of what they're final build will be, if I do it will be a Sathari ace pilot type. What ship would you suggest for a crew of two? They're wanting something with a fairly decent cargo capacity but they need it to require minimal crew to operate. They also need the ship to be capable of carrying/mounting/launching a starfighter before and/or during combat. They will be receiving an ugly(mix of different ships, including a Naboo N1, TIE Bomber, and some other bits here and there but it will act as a gunship). They're both looking for build suggestions on their characters as they are both new to Edge of the Empire but both are big Star Wars fans. Best friend is definitely wanting to go with the stealthy role, potentially using sniper rifles in combat but he is open to suggestions, and he wants to be a slick, smooth smuggler/criminal type of character reminiscent of Han Solo and Hondo Ohnaka. The girlfriend on the other hand wants to be a gun bunny type. She's using a Dragoneye Reaper with mods on it that make the thing an absolute monster(I believe 13 damage) and she'd like some explosives/demolitions skill as a back up. Both would like to be mechanically inclined so they can repair the ship(him), work on droids(him), use tech in combat(her) and modify arms and armor(her)

  13. I'm down with piloting, he's got no Space piloting but it can't be much different than a swoop bike from back home, right? Haha
  14. I'm game for whatever the group decides as a whole. Ship combat definitely could be fun but getting away "clean" is always a good option.
