and/or cavalry units no?

So damage is far from sure in sorceress.
Oh I agree wholeheartedly, but that is also why I mentioned it would be important to have her backed up by Maegan... what I should have said is Maegan with Malcorne's Bequest which gives her a free re-cast of the correct rune type (unstable) and if that doesn't work she gets another re-cast for the cost of exhausting the Bequest.
You're still stacking a lot of things up to get her to proc, but I still think she has the edge on the Geomancer.
The Daqan can take the other mage that lets them flip runes to help with his ability, but he's still going to have to be within (a variable by turn) range of a unit that is of the right size/type for the ability to have an effect.

I think that may be it - there's a 3 in 8 chance of seeing any combo of surge/surges on a blue die. Only 1 in 8 to see a double surge, 2 in 8 to see a single.
So slightly less than half the time she will proc.
Still, when she does it will be pretty brutal, and if she's backed up by Maegan's rune flipping shenanigans doubly so...
But overall - I'd definitely still prefer her over Uncontrolled Geomancer, she's still going to be useful more often IMHO

Just finished watching it - great battle ... what a slaughter!
Thanks for editing out the Command Phase too!
Just one thing ...
When a Blight is spent, the attacker gets to choose the die that's removed (not the defender who is spending the Blight) 12.1
Keep 'em coming ... I've subscribed!

I truly hope that Daqan and Waiqar have new units/heroes released at the same time as the Latari that will bring them up to par.

@flightmaster101 Ah sorry ... I see now. (^_^)

I'm just a bit concerned the elves have 2 mounted heroes and no unmounted ones. It's possible they're just not showing the unmounted base, but still concerning.
equally concerning however is that lord Hawthorne and ankaur come with a base but no unmounted unit cards.
From the article (emphasis mine):
QuoteThe Maegan Cyndewin Hero Expansion comes with one cavalry plastic figure, an infantry plastic figure, as well as new terrain, objective, and deployment cards.
She's going to be both (yay!)
Although I imagine she won't be as impressive when she's not on her wooly mamoose...

So, Maegan aside...
Anyone notice the Champion in the Command expansion is equipped for Melee and Ranged? (Sickle and Bow)

Seventh faction Deep (Dark) Elves confirmed!

Well the man who gave us tall humanoid Elves (as opposed to the traditional little people style Elves) set the precedent as he had Half Elves (c.f. Elrond)
OTOH, Elves are far more attractive to humans I would imagine!

It might be a Ventala?
From p. 28 of the Lore Guide:
QuoteFor the disturbance in the Void caused by the War of the Shadow Tear warped many living things, and it bore fruit in Human and Dwarf, Ventala and Leonx and so many creatures.

Sorry, everything after that sentence was just background noise - I was too busy running around the room whooping for joy that you've finally caved in!
... but seriously though, I'm with Klonoa and Xargonaut here and would suggest going for a redder orange or a silver trim.

I just want to know what new upgrade or mechanic is going to be supplying all of these surges!
"I guess the first two surges for my Leonx riders I'll spend as unique surges for single Mortal Strike, I'll dump the rest into adding hits"

If I was a betting man, I'd put money on it being "I'm-heh-lihn" based on the way they pronounce Daqan and Uthuk. I don't know the correct lingual term, but they seem to prefer the "deeper/longer" sound in pronouncing their words...

Ditto ... and that's great because you're going to have one Blue every. single. turn. (and sometimes a bonus second).

8 hours ago, Budgernaut said:I've been thinking about this issue and came up with another problem. Admittedly, this is a much more whiny issue, but maybe some of you will relate.
By releasing the next two factions separately, we are more likely to see the "new hotness" syndrome at work. In other words, everyone will have a decent grasp on the undead and humans and will really want to try out the new factions. This means that when the factions release, there will be a spike in the number of players using the new faction, which results in less overall diversity. (And a personal problem I have -- I don't like playing what is currently popular.)
Oh, no I can relate...
It is my fervent hope that FFG temper this with "cool new hotness" releases for existing factions at the same time as the new factions drop/expand.
Fingers crossed (very tightly)...

I really appreciate this Budgernaut! I've been pronouncing Daqan and Waiqar purely as Christian Petersen did at the in-flight report, which matches this video perfectly (well duh!). Latari I thought was pretty straightforward, but I was busting to know the correct way to pronounce Uthuk. Thank you very much!
Next on the list: Ynfernael

True I lumped them all into "wave 1" because they were all lumped into the same release date.
Also there's some X-Wing influencing me ... wave 1 of X-Wing included core set ships (with new cards) as well as some new ships...

Sooo... looking at the Carrion Lancer and Rune Golem expansions, there are at least 3 siege upgrade cards in each box...
If we assume that two in each box are the same as the ones that come in the Core (Frontline Rune Golem, Support Lancer ... one for each mini), then there's at least one new Siege upgrade in each box.
That being the case, I wonder what they may represent? Would these be upgrades giving the alternative ability of the units? For example, rather than spitting Blight, the alternate Support Lancer may trade that for the ability to apply conditional Mortal Strikes, per the solo unit, and the alternate Front Line Rune Golem might be handing out Stun tokens instead of adding Brutal to the unit.
N.B. I know the article states 8 new upgrade cards, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that that's misleading and we will be seeing the same siege upgrade cards from the core, plus the extra(s)

Guess its not the easy task I thought it to be. I honestly thought it a minor effort for people with the right skillset, since I have had people do it readily with NASAs picture of galaxies etc. for use in X-Wing.
Cheers ?
Ah, I see!
NASA space pictures are really great because they're very hi-res and super cool ... ready to go with little manipulation. In this case you are very much correct - the actual process is not very involved at all as the hard part is already done!
Which is great if you play X-Wing or Armada...
For a really cool image for a matt suited to Runewars, my previous post stands unfortunately...

Thanks for taking my post the intended way ... it certainly wasn't meant to be mean or snarky, but I can see how it could be taken that way...
