  1. Ah cool - thanks for that. I guess that also takes care of escalating flippers as it won't matter how many you have, they all have to be resolved in your timing window (whether first player or not).
  2. I'm interested to see how the timing on rune flipping shenanigans works out. I'm sure they'll settle on First Player preference which will swing the upper hand round to round, but as more units become capable of flipping runes we may see a "rune flipping" unit escalation in an attempt to secure the final flip each round...
  3. Oh wow. Thanks to Tabletop Admiral List builder I just realised that Shield of Margath is a Neutral upgrade. Looks like I'll be buying Lord Hawthorne to kit out my Ardus. At least the new terrain and objectives will sweeten the deal...
  4. Oops sorry I missed those other times... please forgive me for asking you to retread old ground My intent was not to read into something that wasn't there, but to wrap my head around seemingly contradictory or badly imparted rules (c.f. engagement and tray corners) I'm sorry if I seem dense ... what relevant text is it ignoring? I would have thought the only relevant text of 60 is the opening paragraph and 60.1 Does it though? Technically you don't collide with that terrain initially, but you do actually collide with it when performing a move action as Overlapping triggers once you move. I would have thought it prevents you from taking damage if you are sitting still (rallying or some other non-movement action) and contacting the terrain. When you start your turn touching, no collision. If during your turn you move/overlap that terrain by a move action on your dial or are forced to move through it via a Morale "Flee in Terror" then you will collide and take damage. I could not agree more! Although I didn't quote 81.1 Terrain, I did quote 60 as well as 18. I agree 100% ... that was my point - you don't Collide at the start of the turn with any obstacle you are already touching. You will collide with it when you overlap, which you will do so when you are caused to overlap via a move action, either willingly (on your dial) or unwillingly (morale test). Looking at my original post I see that I was perhaps less than clear on the final point. I did not clarify that the unit ultimately collides. Here are my steps again with better worded intent in the final point: A unit marches forward and overlaps an obstacle. It is moved back along its movement template and is left touching the obstacle. (per Overlapping 60.1) Next turn, the unit marches forward again. It does not collide with the terrain it is already touching. (per Collision 18) Although the unit does not collide (per Collision 18), as it marches forward it overlaps the obstacle and Collides (per Overlapping 60.1) … therefore it is moved back along its movement template and is left touching the obstacle, and resolves a Collision.
  5. Ok, so here’s my take: A unit marches forward and overlaps an obstacle. It is moved back along its movement template and is left touching the obstacle. (per Overlapping 60.1) Next turn, the unit marches forward again. It does not collide with the terrain it is already touching. (per Collision 18) Although the unit does not collide (per Collision 18), as it marches forward it overlaps the obstacle (per Overlapping 60.1) … therefore it is moved back along its movement template and is left touching the obstacle.
  6. Good grief - that's amazing! It's almost worth its 6 points for the Brutal alone without the other options! I love the consistency to his range attack it brings (you'll always have at least 1 white die), bypassing swinginess or rune flipping shenanigans nerfing him during play.
  7. Thanks for that ... I figured "la plague(?)" might be a Blight token. Wasn't sure on the other terrain whether it would be Fortified, Cover or Taxing - thank you! The names in english are Blighted Ground and Graveyard (going from the "Grow Your Forces" article spread). Any insights on the upgrade card that is fully visible? I can read Brutal 1, but the rest is a mystery ... interesting that it seems to reference a number of rune types...
  8. Wow - thanks for that link! I wish I was spanish fluent then squinting might work for the rules on display. Upgrade for Ankaur Mary that gives him Brutal - Woooooooooot!
  9. Yep, they've said: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/1/30/command-and-control/ https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/3/3/grow-your-forces/ Each expansion in these articles is listed as two trays, with the exception of the Command Packs which are listed as 4 figures (not sure if a tray for them is included)
  10. In this vein, I'd love to see bases packs at retail, much like the bases/stand packs that FFG eventually released for X-Wwing. I've got a whole tub of Descent minis crying out for conversion...
  11. You really, really have to proxy if you've "core-swapped" to get anywhere near 200pts. I'm in the same situation as you, core-swapped with a friend and play Waiqar. By proxying (only core cards not future expansions), the highest I got with my Waiqar was 194 I think, but my current is 186. Hoo boy I hope there's plenty of copies of Rank Discipline coming up in future expansions...
  12. So true! I'm surprised some X-Wing vets didn't point this out earlier. With the exception of items revealed in an article, until someone unboxes a set, consider all tokens and cards shown in product shots to be "something along these lines."
  13. Which is why if I was a betting man, I'd put serious money down on the "Blighted Ground" adding a Blight when you collide with it... I like @Hidatom's idea of the graveyard doing something for Regen...
  14. Or even Objective cards that you don't usually encounter or use yourself... the new Objective in the Latari expansion may be the start of a trend... (or even the new Objectives that come with the Heroes...)
  15. Sooooo much better than the stupid lame-o Duskblade... <grumble> <grumble>
  16. I love this list! ... and it justifies a second command pack purchase to boot!
  17. Or even a 2x1 Unit if Ardus is running around solo...
  18. Thanks - although based on my previous sanding abilities, I'm pretty sure I'd end up sanding plastic as well as paint(!)
  19. Just wondering if anyone had any tips on (safely) removing paint. I'm finding that the painted edges of the base are making the fit too tight in my trays and I have also managed to get some paint on the sides of my trays while painting them for basing. Is there something I can use to remove the paint in these circumstances that won't damage the plastic of the trays or base?
