Truly, I think the only reason we didn't see it in wave 8 is that the desire to complete the "bounty hunter family" won out. Colour me completely unsurprised if we see it in wave 9. Its inclusion in Armada and the lack of a scum bomber just puts the writing on the wall.

My vote is for the Sand Sloth: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sand_Sloth

I'm not sure point levels would come into it ... it'd be more like "if we release a squadron for ship n, would any of the unique pilots of ship type n, be OP if they were made a squadron leader" I guess I'm going on an assumption that if you had a special ability on a generic squadron ship, it would not be as powerful as the type of ability you would find on one of the better unique pilots. Take the example I gave ... If you had two or more PS 4 X-Wings that had the ability to do a stressful s-loop and you paired them with Wedge, or Biggs, or Luke who would then gain that ability also... would you consider it OP? Would the trade off of fielding a squad of "interesting" generics with a "buffed" leader break the game? If the generics ability was really powerful... (think Soontir, Darth or Wedge), then yes of course. But if it was milder... For example: - When performing a barrel roll, use the one bank template - You may perform a RED S-Loop instead of a 3 Bank
-
No, you would inherit the pilot ability of the Squadron (i.e. non-unique generic) For example if the "Storm Squadron" TIE Advanced cards had a card ability and you fielded two with Darth Vader, then you could nominate them as their "Squadron Leader" and he would gain their ability. Currently, none of the "Squadron" cards have abilities... currently... EDIT: Ninja'd(!)

Bear with me here… What if FFG were to release generic pilots with native abilities, for example: X-Wing Azure Squadron When executing a 3-bank maneuver, you may instead perform a 3 s-loop then receive a stress token. … you get the idea Now if that happened, what if there was a new rule/mechanic that went thus: Squadron Leader If two or more ships of the same squadron type are fielded, then a unique pilot flying the same ship type may be assigned as their squadron leader. That pilot gains the unique ability of the squadron ships in addition to any pilot ability he/she may already have. It would make for some nice synergy and maybe encourage more of a mix of generic/low and unique/high pilots in the game. Of course, this would require FFG to make generic pilot cards with pilot abilities…

I suspect that the other two SKUs are for individual items that are already in the leaked product. c.f. original X-Wing core and individual blisters for the X-Wing and TIE. You can suspect all you like, but there's no hard evidence of that or details on it. Easy tiger! I made no claim of any evidence or hard details - I was merely putting forward my theory on what the SKUs may be and my reason why.

This has been discussed at length in various threads... Two points are usually cited: One: some of the ships that appear in episodes IV, V and VI had already been around for about 30 years, and some of the EU ships we already have (E-Wing for example) are from up to about 30 years after the aforementioned films. Two: Rather than WWII planes to Jet Fighters, it's more like comparing a Jet Fighter from the 70s/80s to one from 2015 ... different, but not that much in the grand scheme of things

I only want one Gozanti, but I'd like as many matching blue TIEs as I can get - rather than leaving in the box would you be happy to sell them?

Not unlike how odd the Transport looks next to Falcons, Decimators, Shuttles etc...

Huh, thanks. Wow, it's...small looking. Like...tiny. Weird. That Gozer is going to look stupidly massive next to this guy... Yeah, I agree - looking from 'above' it doesn't look so bad (it's wide enough to be on par with the corvette), but side on, it's so slight... I love the look overall, but it definitely does not have imposing 'heft'
-
Love it!

Could not agree more!

What's better than a Star Destroyer? A Star Destroyer with another Star Destroyer on top! lol

C/- Making Star Wars (http://makingstarwars.net) Thought this might be of interest as it may be something we'll see in an upcoming wave... Here is an image of the new Star Destroyer from episode VII as shown on a toy packet. Unlike the second teaser, it shows us the top, rather than the side/bottom.

Hmmm... if you're looking for artisanal hipster sci-fi, then Star Wars is not going to be your thing...

Here's the best photo I could find from GenCon that pretty clearly shows they're upside down...

I'm not counting out the EU (there's some ships I'd like to see), BUT there definitely are other ships coming in the next movie, and quite a few too. You may not see much more of them than you saw of the B-Wings in ROTJ, but they'll be there. If you check some of the larger rumours sites you'll find leaked concept art.
-
Agreed, but they're there because they're ships belonging to the bounty hunters from ESB - something that Alex Davy is on record as wanting to see/introduce into X-Wing. The perception is that now that they're there, and with Rebels and the new movies, there will be no more "EU" ships going forward. IMHO wave 7 was really scraping the bottom of the EU barrel... There's plenty of new ships in the new movie that we haven't seen yet... (if rumours/leaked artwork are to be believed) The first spin off film, Rogue One set just before ANH starts filming in a few weeks... And with up to three TV series planned let alone future movies, there's going to be a lot of new ships to bring into the fold... I expect we'll still see the Scurg or whatever it's called only because it's in an Armada wave, but there's still potentially room for one or two more until all of the aforementioned options really open up... (and I'd personally like to see the TIE Hunter and TIE droid)

If they edited the article to take that out, it was probably for a reason. It seems like the OP should reflect the fact that it might have been a mistake. A mistake to show it or an actual mistake? There's no way to know. I think it will change again ... it still says the shuttle has a turret, which I'm pretty sure it doesn't have... ORIGINAL: REVISED:

Not sure if you guys have heard this but...
maxam replied to cruiser2710's topic in Star Wars: Armada
It's just under half the length of the CR-90, so it'll probably win the prize for smallest small ship... -
I don't know that I'd say that until I saw the dial, the cost, and the pilot abilities. It's a 3 attack Z-95 that can take a systems slot, a crew, and a turret upgrade. It could end up being decent in lists even without the Ghost. I meant it in the sense that the ship itself is so ugly I wouldn't take it even if it was the King Hell God Emperor Starfighter of Death. I couldn't agree more - the Phantom is a terrible design. I'd have to say, though ... the FFG model looks... ok ... much better than I expected. I'll hold judgement until I see a close shot, but I think they may have just saved this one too.
-
I can see myself getting multiple TIE Advanced V1's... An I can also see myself getting multiple Gozanti's for the blue TIE models...
-
Indeed - this is a huge precedent! Love the formatting on the OP BTW

Attack shuttle is a 3 attack (it's in the article text which I've saved - site is down at the moment) (have PM'd you the article text)
