  1. Could not agree more! Indeed. Ideally they'd be the first thing you'd buy in Epic to boost your small craft now that you have the "elbow room" to field them.
  2. Is it just me or is the ability to "Force Push" living things a new thing developed in the Clone Wars CG series and Rebels? In the films (I - VI), the only things that were "Force Pushed" were "non-living/organic" matter, i.e. crates, pillars, light sabres and droids ... Jedi and Sith did not ever push each other or their (non-droid) opponents. This also seemed to be the case in the Clone Wars Cel animated series.
  3. So very, very, VERY much this!
  4. I sadly agree. I doubt the EU makes anymore appearances. Alex Davy explicitly stated in a recent interview that they will be continuing to draw from the EU... It was in Scum and Villainy Episode 18 @ 48:30 Whether that's good or bad is another thing entirely, but he has stated it.
  5. The final is up on YouTube... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U55bLimFyKk
  6. That sir, is a thing of beauty... easily the best trench I've seen!
  7. Me too ... can't wait to see BLACK TIEs, BLACK Shuttles and even BLACK X-Wings in BLACK space - what were they thinking??? I truly hope to see some space battles, but I expect to see a lot of Nebulae too
  8. Great spotting! I had that pegged as building ruin!
  9. It's grown on me (and no, not like a cyst) "... tonight on Pimp My Shuttle we've got Kylo who really likes the colour black and Star Destroyers, but he's only got a lame-ass second-hand Lambda ... let's see what he thinks when we pimp his shuttle into a bad-ass black Star Shuttle Destroyer!"
  10. Doesn't seem like a relevant comparison.Regardless of how much you say the TIE/fo is a different ship, it just...plain...isn't. It's a newer model of the same old TIE Fighter. The TIE Interceptor isn't a TIE Fighter. It actually IS a different ship. Ok, fair enough re the Interceptor, but... Do you feel similarly about the T-70? Should it have been a title only upgrade with the same dial as a T-65? Irrespective of my poor Interceptor comparison, I believe my point still stands ... If you are showing an updated/improved iteration of a ship why is a new dial not a valid option? The T-70 and the TIE/fo are both updated/improved iterations of the T-65 and TIE ... and they fly differently. Ok, obviously you're very passionate about this, and it's not my intent to upset or anger you. Will the T-70 and the TIE/fo do anything in the new film that we didn't see T-65s and TIE fighters do in OT? I don't know as I haven't seen the movie, but truly I suspect not. All I know is, that when I put down a film-accurate miniature reproduction of a 'modern' T-70 or TIE/fo on the table I want it feel and play differently to a T-65 or TIE.
  11. Well spotted! That's hopefully the case I'd love it to be non-Epic in scale! (fingers crossed) Exactly - I'm hoping the "bridge" shots in the new trailer are in a Star Destroyer, not the shuttle... OK - wow I just learnt about wing chords cool! (not sarcasm) So, based on your estimates of wing size, how large/small would you guesstimate it to be relative to the Lambda?
  12. And why did it warrant a new dial? Because despite appearances it's a different ship. Like the T-70 it represents a "modern", i.e. technologically advanced ship, even if it looks even more similar to its predecessor than the T-70 does. Much like the T-70 one of the key differentiators is the dial - it 'feels' different to fly with better and different (T-Roll/S-Loop) maneuvers. Or, to put it another way... What if the TIE interceptor - the OT "new and improved" TIE fighter was represented in X-Wing by a different miniature and a Title card but not a different dial? Would it 'feel' different? I'd argue that the extra green (particularly the green '2' turns) and the k-turns make it a very different and 'improved' fighter, not just the extra attack die and boost.
  13. So in anticipation of possibly getting this bad boy in X-Wing some day, I was curious as to how big it would be. Are we talking about a 1:370 Epic like the Gozanti or non-Epic 1:370 The LEGO set is not something to go by as the scale for LEGO varies wildly... Ditto for all the MicroMachines toys in the stores... The new trailer that shows it landing didn't seem overly clear to me whether it was near or far to the Stormtroopers in the foreground... Any ideas?
  14. Obviously if it had been a Title, the TIE/fo wouldn't have had it's own dial. Or conversely - the reason it is not a Title is that it warrants a new dial
  15. Bear with me here... ------ Imagine I've never played X-Wing before ... I've seen a couple of the prequels and my dad tried to make me watch one of the old ones... Now I've seen TFA and I'm hyped! I buy this new X-Wing game I've never seen/heard of before ... it's got the ships from the movie(!) I'm reading the rules... looking good... I think I grok this... T-70 ... movement dial, action bar, upgrade bar, yup, yup ... Ok now let's look at the TIE ... Huh? how come there's four dials in here for two ships? Hmmm... two of them say TIE fighter, and two say TIE/fo... okay... what's this card? TIE/FO TIE Fighter only. TITLE ... use the TIE/fo movement dial, increase your shield value by 1, your action bar gains the [target lock] action, your upgrade bar gains the [tech] upgrade icon your faction is now First Order 3pts... What the? If they're the ships from the movie, why don't they just call them TIE/fo and put the shield and upgrades on them like the T-70? Aren't they the ships from the new movie? I don't remember any non-First Order TIEs in TFA... weird ----- EDIT: Updated to add Target Lock action to TITLE card
  16. This is something I am sooooo looking forward to... it'd be so great to see standard TIE's back on the table again and to see some named TIEs fielded besides Howlrunner and the occasional Backstabber/Dark Curse
  17. I keep all of mine - I figure that after the apocalypse I'd like to play the game with other survivors for years to come and not have to use rocks and bark for tokens... (the same reason I have two copies of every ship and core mint in box safely stashed in the bunker)

    Future Waves?

Sooooo very much this. BUT I can't help but think if movies continued to be made directly after VI we might have got some non-TIE variant Imperial ships. The Lambda was a step in the right direction... Nowadays it seems if you're going to have an Imperial ship it's got to have some hint of TIE about it even on non-starfighters (c.f. Decimator, Raider, in X-Wing and those awful "police" air cars from CW/Rebels)

    Future Waves?

He did. Scum and Villainy Episode 18 @ 48:30
  20. I prefer her in a slave outfit myself...
  21. Hmmm… here’s hoping, but if I was a betting man, I’d say theres a “loading ramp” that drops down from the front for passengers/cargo to board and that the top is hinged by Legocorp to allow access to the interior for “play” Sooooo much this! There are plenty of rumoured [insert letter]-Wings set to appear in minor roles, but who knows? I suspect they’re going to stick to riffing on very familiar designs for the first movie, playing it “safe” and branch out in subsequent ones (hopefully!) And a Y-Wing in Splinter of the Minds Eye… I suspect her and Ackbar are being escorted by the pilots in this case though… (would be happy to be wrong!)
  22. *cough* from the "behind the scenes" promo reel...
  23. Alex Davy in a recent podcast interview, explicitly stated that they will continue to use the EU as a source for new ships (along with any new canon ships made available), which is good news if you want more EU ships
