Yeah I hope they increase standard tourney size once more stuff is out, but even before then I will probably start playing 3-400 point games once the wave 1 expansions launch

Deja vu...I woke up to this argument being on my facebook feed from the rune wars group...and now it is here using the same argument and model STOP FOLLOWING ME CAPTAIN TERRO! but I agree with @Orcdruid the hero is much more comparative to two boxes say captain terro and agent blaise? the hero is two separate models, calling the horse a 3rd is trying desperately to rationalize the cost, but still. Each hero has its own unique dial, and hero cards then there are the upgrades, terrain card and I'm assuming terrain pieces, and scenario card. I would make the argument that components are going to be similar to the amount in two IA expacs also. If this were an either or situation yes I would agree $25 is too much but since it is both It falls right in line with FFG's previous pricing method. @Hijodecain are you not going to be buying the packs at 10-20% off MSRP? I don't know how pricing works for these in the EU, but here it is basically going to 2 packs for between $40-$45 so I'm honestly curious if you are ok with paying that 40ish for 16 models how you aren't going to be paying that anyway?

What if we put 17 buckles on the skeleton riding the skeletal horse full of skeletons and we give each skeleton in said skeletal horse a back pack and give the skeletal horse 8 saddle bags full of bones?

But how can you actually play a game if your models don't have 17 buckles sculpted on them and backpacks with backpack packs. What self respecting wargamer would ever field an army where every little soldier doesn't have a minimum of 6 pouches of some sort? All jokes aside @Tvayumat and @VanorDM you make good points as always.

Actually other than a purely one model price vs other model price, most of the discussions here about list comparisons have been FFG products or other miniature games that have lower reasonable entry prices such as Kings of War or Warmahordes. GW being overpriced is a reason that they don't come into a cost analysis. But also making the looking solely at 20 figs from game A vs 20 figs from game B cost break down doesn't necessarily work either in a total cost of list/entry breakdown as just the number of models in a box does not reflect the point cost of a box vs the point cost of other boxes in other games. Also objectively the highest quality miniatures in the market, that may have been true at one time but they no longer can claim that, regardless of the material they using for their casting, even ignoring all the problems with their finecast models when they came out. But it does eventually just boil down to the argument for this game being less expensive can be made compared to the hobby as a whole, no one is trying to make an argument that this is a cheap miniature game or even the lowest cost game, it isn't. If the game no longer appeals to you because price over shadows, then that is unfortunate but understandable.

This is my plan, 2 cores splitting the second so I will have 3x waiqar and one core worth of daqan to test if I like them and teach others the game, I will probably end up trading them away for more waiqar...I really need to focus on one army this time around...then I will just be buying each waiqar expansion. success! I am so stoked for this!!!I'm hoping may/june but @Elrad is probably right. Though the big hope and hint this gives me is that we will see the other factions later this year for a sept-dec release!

I would like to see new sculpts of unique units...having the same models represent two separate types of units can be annoying...especially if your opponent is playing an army whose color theme is grey plastic on grey plastic...unique sculpts for unique unit also just looking more interesting...

This may work though I'm not sure how much lift it will give outside of the tray...I'm going to experiment with a bunch of options and post about it with pictures here...the biggest flaw i see with a washer would be that if I a magnet in the center hole of the model and a washer centered in the tray the magnet will be in the hole of the washer...I have a guy that I ordered a bunch of sheets of metal from that are custom cut to fit in Gem trays for my storage I may see how expensive it will be to get some 24ga metal circle inserts cut...

I'm going to insert a rare earth magnet into the hole on the bottom of the base that the peg from the movement tray goes into and either put another REM on the tray or a small piece of metal in the tray... Magnetic sheets don't offer the magnetic hold that I would feel comfortable using for storage...

I mean that could be a technique...The argument could be made that the point difference between the embedded hero vs the free moving hero is enough restriction that they wouldn't need to really put a 1 hero unit per army rule. Kari is 32 pts and then upgrades can easily make her around 50 pts so 5 heroes and an easily avoided unit of rune golems sounds like an army I wouldn't mind facing with a punch of archers and reanimates... I could be wrong and that could be terrible though...I'm not sure yet...I want to see other hero list building abilities...

I've been magnetizing my warmachine, infinity, guildball and Imperial assault into new storage method and it has made me want to play the game. weird connection but yeah...I also can't wait to figure out how i'm going to magnetize the models to the movement tray...

I look forward to see how this is portrayed, I'm going to assume we are going to see a lot of interesting army building skills on the heroes of Daqan to create the feel of different baronies.

I will not believe that until we get more confirmation, my FLGS's Asmodee/FFG rep is petty upfront with delays and bad news as I saw with the massive amounts of updates on product from the Destiny launch...so here is hoping that that is a pessimistic estimation...also another 2 month delay could be very bad for the game...Feb was the original proposed launch, then Q1 then March with the expansions in Q2...this would push most of the game into the second half of the year and cause a lot of people to potentially lose interest...

That makes me sad...especially if you have a 10-20 person community interested in these games. They can't be playing gw organized play every night and I doubt 10-20 new players picking up ffg products would hurt their gw crowd or sales...you should just show up one day with your group and be like we want to buy stuff and play here do you really not want or business? I understand the restrictions gw puts on stores but most stores I've been to have still been able to stock other products or special order then if they aren't usual stock...is my area just soiled because a major wholesaler is located in my town? If that's the case then I will stop being so confused...
