you may want to wait to make you terrain so that you can make whatever it's base is be an exact copy of the templates...

Oh it is definitely a balancing decision. I like the set formations personally. When they are influencing the amount of upgrades a unit can take it makes sense to have set formation, and with the damage/reroll mechanic why wouldn't you want to start with a full row to get another full reroll?

I felt that privateer press did that model much better with the beasts/jacks. Not nearly as much of a waste since typically half the contents of a GW box aren't used (because you need 17 arm options 12 weapon options and 20 pouches for each fig). It was very good to be able to magnetize a jack to be able to use all the options though eventually I stopped doing this...

I feel like saying that this is FFG model is a bit hard since this is pretty much the standard of how miniature games are sold. If you want multiple units of different sizes you need to buy more packs. But for this game if you are trying to just get filler models then your best bet will be parted out sets on Ebay...

There kind of was a meta to that too though, not all characters were played equally and not all moves were the same, practice is a thing that goes into that but here practice and strategy are just as important as the models on the table. Everything competitive in gaming has a meta. The difference is that now there is instant meta where as before there was meta through magazines and such...

I'm going to right a fanfic about me painting my miniatures...they are going to be the best...the end :drops unpainted grey minis on the table:

It ends up being around 150ish points depending on how you split the units I think if you just double the sizes of the unit blocks it is closer to 120. All of these point costs are before upgrades, each side loses around 40 points from the hero being unique when you double up.

I'm going to hold out hope that the Expansions will all still launch at the same time and although everything isn't already marked "at the printer" all the models are at least or (I feel more reasonable) have already been produced and are just waiting for testing and printing of the upgrade cards. Maybe we will see these still in May or June? Though since the core was suppose to release in Q1 I suppose these hitting stores early Q3 would not be surprising.

If you table fits a 6x4 you would lose any space with a 6x3 you would just have a properly measured play area and then an area off the mat for all you cards and dice. My point was that if you are thinking about getting a 6x4 but are only playing runewars it makes sense to look for a 6x3 mat instead. I would be surprised if the extra foot of play area would work for this game instead of negatively effecting play as the deployment and some scenarios are based around areas of a 6x3 board.

I'm going to ask the guy that runs the kickstarter if he can add EU shipping, seems like that would be a good idea...But maybe it is just ridiculous pricing...

Actually I just realized their mats only ship to the US and Canada...The terrain pieces are what ship everywhere else...nevermind...There are plenty of companies making 6x3 mats though and if they are cheaper than 6x4 and you aren't playing WH40k or AoS go with those...I'll do some digging.

Yeah, I was thinking about this but again I would still be running a few reanimate blocks to tar pit...I suppose this is where a few min units of reanimates just to space out to break charge lanes in front of reanimates

I could see full armies of certain types having some kind of effectiveness depending on upgrades...though I'm planning on playing Waiqar and I don't really see making and army without archers and wormies...Oh man what if I kitbashed one of the worms with an extra ardus!...

Typically that is how FFG goes at least in organized play. I would be surprised if in casual someone was thoroughly against proxies. However it is good to note that some cards do require exhausting (possibly the majority?) and I would think you would want an actual copy to be represented.

I use milliput, they have like 5-6 different types of moldable epoxy for a variety or detail and such and the standard one that is basically green stuff is $8 for 4oz? check it out...
