Yeah, I would wait until we have more expansions before deciding that Combat Ingenuity doesn't show up again...

I was about to make this same point...I have a list that runs 3 CI's because 3x2 worms with 2 2x1 archers seems fun to me.  I don't need to get my second box of archers...but I will most likely get one, will I hold out and see if MAYBE it comes with the DKs sure why not, though it probably won't show up then I'll will definitely be picking it up... This argument currently really only applies to the future official organized play that leads to the worlds... Until then it seems like the general consensus is that as long as players have one legit copy everything is cool in the casual scene...It sucks that this argument isn't going to go away...

While hope springs eternal, why today? I think Gencon will be the place for things like that as it's typically been a date they've used for announcements.

I'd actually say it would make sense for the reveal before gencon, they revealed the elves a month or two ago then showed them off that the UK game expo, so they can reveal the uthuk now and show them off at Gencon! It isn't like we don't know a 4th faction is coming...

Greyhaven Channeler is also the only one that could affect more than just their unit so thats probably why its unique. The others affect that unit and only that unit, so making them unique would be lame.

I played with the Greyhaven Channeler a couple days ago and yeah i am glad hes unique. I would totally bring 2-3 of them if i could, the number of times i denied my waiqar friend his Nature runes was hilarious. Or got 4 unstable runes for my Fire Rune user lol

edit: the heck did i get greyhound from....

you are going to use this even more once Ankaur comes out...but then it is going to also be hard decisions on removing your fire rune damage to avoid 4 white dice...

So even though the attack of the charge is described as an action and therefore could be described as a bonus action and thereby removed from the order by rules of 81.2 the 81.8 overwrites that specific example i guess? Asking this much because in the Danish Facebook forum for Runewars Miniatures Game the guys debating my question were answering that the attack did not go through. Therefore i want to be absolutely sure (have asked FFG directly as well, but that might take some time)

Also Charge is a modifier to a movement action, the attack in the charge is in no way a bonus action. Bonus action are specifically any actions appearing on the modifier dial...

14 Bonus Actions ? ?... A bonus action is a modifier that appears on some modifier dials. Bonus actions use the same icons as actions.

14.1 After a unit performs its selected action, that unit performs its selected bonus action.

14.2 A unit can perform its bonus action even if its first action was canceled.

  5. I think I'm $300 deep in the game so far, with two full factions...thinking of all the other games I have played I still can't believe how affordable (FOR A TABLE TOP MINIATURE GAME) this game is...and they are really quick to paint armies, well my Waiqar were...I'm now just hoping I can get my next expansions early like the last time...it would be cool to get a battle report up with an Ankaur Maro list on friday...probably won't be able to though.

Yeah same here. $100 a month is kinda standard for miniature games (speaking from 40k perspectives lol).

Currently im just buying 1 of everything, not bothering with repeats as of yet. Pretty much only collecting initial waiqar so i can demo a full game anyway.

So far I have bought 2 waiqar command 1 archer 1 daqan command and 2 oathsworn...the next wave i'm buying 1 of each, and I probably will just buy 1 of the elves, then see what their main unit will be for me and what the support will be...I'll buy 2-3dk's though and possibly no crossbows...

  7. I like the font for the numbers personally it is clear and a bit stylized.  I think the arrows are unnecessary since the way the templates are designed they have a clear direction already.  I just think add a bit of simple designs into the blank space so they don't just look mehtastic and they will be good! Don't change anything in the range ruler IMO

How'd you get rid of the Golem so quickly? Attacks with accuracy? If the Golem is in the center of the front rank you need to remove 7 trays before you can start dealing damage to him unless you have accuracy.

I single carrion lancer on the flank rolling 3 blues against a blighted unit can be PREEETTY effective at accuracy/mortal strike combos against figure upgrades throw on rank discipline so you get to reroll...

Ankaur leaned in closer to the fallen Daqan lord, slowly raising his arm with hesitation. -Can I touch it... the mustache I mean. Ever since you beat me that day I've been smitten by your handsome manly mustache clad face. They don't call you Hawt for nothing. Ankaur's blighted and halfrotted like skin was visibly blushing now in a sickly purpleish hue.

Hawthorne responed with a blank dead purple eyed stare - Ooo GRRr oRR!!

Ankaur started giggling like a school girl - Oh Hawthorne, you know just what to say. Then he swooped up Hawthorne in his arms and rode out into the night while the reanimates shuffled around haphazardly and clapping as excitedly as just a walking pile of bones could do.

It totally fits the lore I tells ya! ... Toodles!

Amazing minstrels will forever sing the ballad of forbidden love of ankaur maro and Lord Hawthorne

Make your own Epic lore from the battles you fight. I mean nothing is stopping you from making that Kari a "general" in your own army.  Remember that time when everything standing between a defenseless Daqan hamlet and a throng of Reanimates was a lone hero(Kari) supported by her trusted Deepwood Archer allies risking their lives to save the innocent. Against all odds beating back the wretched undead and thus forming a strong bond with said hamlet. Maybe that could show up in your army as a modified Spearman unit that looks poorly equiped concidering their farmer background pledging their aid against the undead scourge. Anything is possible for those with the drive and imagination to play around alittle with their models. I'm not, I suck at it :P. But still.

And then a blighted arrow punctures Kari's neck and while she survives the wound, the blight is already in her blood and causes her to slowly lose her mind.  Before long her decisions start to seem off, he trusty archers begin to question her...in response she poisons them with blight being provided to her by the Shadow Council, the corruption takes hold on them and they no longer question Kari the Wraith, or anyone of the Shadow Council.  Over time soldiers of the Baronies and Latari begin to disappear.  Lord Hawthorne goes to investigate only to be have his own riders turn on him.  They take down his trusted steed causing it to fall on Hawthorne pinning him to the ground.  They part ranks making a path, mist roils up as Ankaur Maro steps forward looming over the fallen Daqan lord.  A wicked grin creases his shadowed face as he bends over.  He slides the duskblade between Hawthorne's rids, he grimaces in pain before the life fades from his eyes replaced with the eerie purple glow of Waiqar's Legions.  A reanimate shuffles forward guiding one of the Equius Cumir forward by its dark bridle.  Hawthorne rises and mounts the beast, he turns to face the road he came from, his cavalry form up on his flanks, a column of blighted doom.  He kicks his steed into a gallop riding straight for the heart of country he once served...

    or something like that...

When a Rune Golem collides with a rocky outcropping he stops to have a chat.

Then the Golem realizes that the rocky outcrop is attractive, he gets nervous kicking one foot back and forth, his glowing runes turn a dark shade of red as he finds himself at a loss for words? aww the Golem has a crush on the terrain.
