JaceMoonstrider got a reaction from legoman in Is the game dying?
I am a long time Magic player (since 1994) and discovered Star Wars LCG in August ... Haven't played magic since
The game is growing in my neck of the woods. I have held two intro parties and have given out 3 core sets as gifts (and plan to do more). It is much more interesting and more enjoyable than Magic IMO (not to mention much less expensive to be competitive). I hope it grows alot more! I'm doing my part.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to bubblepopmei in Warning points?
I'm confident there are some people with a much higher number than 0.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Crabbok in I'm so so sorry...
.. that we didn't get a painting subforum, or Star Destroyer, or Imperial Huge Ships, or TIE Advanced fixes yet.
I'm also sorry for not rating your new scenario, critiquing your build, or playtesting your homemade cards.
I'm also sorry that your 4th faction wishlist probably won't come true. Additionally, I apologize for all the products that are STILL on the boat, and even more for those who are still at the printer.
I'm sorry that that card you hate still isn't banned. I'm sorry that Scum and Villainy leaves you with tough decisions on how to store and transport your collection. I'm sorry that the Most Wanted pack z-95's and Y-Wings can't be legally interchanged with the rebel variants due to the dial.
I'm sorry that that some builds dominate the "meta". I'm sorry about your off topic political post. I'm sorry that you didn't get to go to Gen Con. I'm terribly sorry that that huge ship you don't want to buy includes a card that you really want.
I'm sorry that FFG has completely broke the game due to the introduction of that new card. I'm also sorry that FFG completely broke the game with turrets. I'm also sorry that FFG completely broke the game by including red dice.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Doc, the Weasel in New Live Play Podcast - Edge of the Empire: Lost Sons
Our group has taken up podcasting our play sessions and we have started with our current EotE game, the home-brew story Lost Sons. (here's the opening crawl)
Some of you may know the group from the Warhammer podcasts at Reckless Dice (where we did Underworld Rising and Buried but not Forgotten).
Lost Sons is the first adventure based on a player generated setting. Our first session (which, unfortunately wasn't recorded) was the players and I creating the setting and NPCs along with their characters (the process was documented on the forum in this thread).
We have parts 1 and 2 up on our new site, BeggingForXP.com, and I hope to have part 3 up in a day or two. Please head on over and take a listen.
If I do say so myself, we have a great group of players that add a lot of flavor to the session (though competence isn't always their specialty).
Thanks for listening and good gaming.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to AntaresCD in X-Wing Data Files for Army Builder Updated
FYI for those who use Army Builder, the X-Wing data files were rewritten and are now up to date for all released ships (through Wave 4) and with the current FAQ and tournament rules.
A Wave 5 update is expected in not too long.
You can find the data files through the standard Army Builder interface.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Droofus in The best part about Scum and Villainy...
Prediction: he'll be the first crew upgrade to require and use two crew slots on the ship he's deployed to. Otherwise that would be a very uncomfortable ride in, say, a HWK-290

JaceMoonstrider got a reaction from Hobojebus in So now that we have Scum and Villany...
From my area, we are mostly excited by news of new faction. As in most things, the upset are just louder. FFG can't please everyone all the time. The sales of wave 6 will reveal the full picture ...

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Vorpal Sword in If X-wing and Descent are FFG's best selling games...why no small deck boxes?
This is an excellent question. A small deck box would be far higher on my list of accessories to buy than dice bags.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Rob Jedi in I was in the debut demo for Imperial Assault, here are my photos
Joking aside I think the miniatures look fabulous compared to the old bendy plastic prepainted ones from SWM a few years ago. Can't wait to play this and paint all the stuff.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Hexis in I got the first question at the FFG in-flight conference
Guys that was Christian Petersen the Founder and CEO. No one told him what he could or could not say. It's his company.
I really thought you were pushing the boundaries of civility with the TIE advanced comment. You had a question, he answered it, and you interjected a snarky comment while he was trying to move on to another question.
If FFG was ready to announce something related to the TIE Advanced, they would have. We have seen them address the A-Wing, there is no reason they couldn't do something to show the TIE Advanced. We just have to wait and see what they come up with. Inherently the points system counteracts power-creep as long as ships and upgrades are priced correctly and balanced via play testing. If you look at the tournament lists, you see a very diverse mix of everything, not just new ships. That right there is all you need to show that there is no power-creep.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to Spew in Playing Remotely? Try Hangout EotE tools
We've been using these tools for a while now for our weekly game. There are a couple of us that play remotely and we use Google Hangout to do so (although the last couple of sessions we all played remotely using Hangouts and the tool). It has been working quite well and I thought I would make it available to the community.
It consists of Destiny tracker, a roller (originally coded by our GM and posted in this forum a couple months ago) with the results communicated to everyone in the Hangout including the roll results that appear as an overlay to the video stream.
You can give it a try here:
This is what it looks like. It is displayed as a side-panel next to the video.

JaceMoonstrider got a reaction from zathras23 in An opportunity to vent...
I think the moral of this story is that Warhammer is dying ...
I know several (including myself) that have left because of GW's rediculousness. Plus X-Wing is soooo much better.

JaceMoonstrider reacted to nurglez in Developing List: Chewie the Opportunist
A list that won one of the Imdaar tournaments I went to was.
Chewie, opportunist, gunner, nunb
hobbie, r3 a2
rookie.
Opportunist with gunner was pretty brutal, I played vs him in game 4 and while in our opinion I should have won (based on my list), he ripped me apart as I moved badly and couldn't focus on his falcon with my whole force (howling for blood: howl w swarm, mauler w swarm, royal guard w ptl and 2 alpha's) due to an asteroid.
I'd consider gunner and nunb standard for an opportunist chewie, leaving 28 points for the rest of your list.

JaceMoonstrider got a reaction from Osoroshii in Swarm etiquette?
From Tournament rules ...
Missed Opportunities
Players are expected to play optimally, remembering to perform actions and use card effects when indicated. If a player forgets to use an effect during the timing specified by that effect, he cannot retroactively use it without the consent of his opponent. Players are expected to act with respect and not intentionally distract or rush an opponent with the intent of forcing a missed opportunity.
So ... While it is accurate that actions take place in proper order, opponent CAN consent it to happen ... legally. So it's up to you. "Fly Casual" is allowed ;-)
Also with swarm movement ... Have you watched any of the National or World championship videos???
It doesn't get more official than that and swarm movement was constantly used. Obviously they didn't do banks ... Good swarm players know how formation movements happen. These are timed events.
