  1. Since we have new precedent set with the Heavy Scyk title fix, seems like a possibility.
  2. I've been thinking about giving this a spin: Gamma Squadron Veteran (25) x 4 TIE Bomber (19), TIE Shuttle (0), Crack Shot (1), Tactician (2), Recon Specialist (3) PS 5 shoots before swarm lists, 24 hp with double focus is tanky, and anything foolish enough to fall into range 2 of this in formation won't be doing actions again.
  3. Say you killed a YT-1300 that had three A-Wings within range 1. You could shoot Assault Missiles at the *dead* YT instead of one of the A-Wings so that you're going against 1 evade die instead of 3, if the splash damage is all you care about.
  4. Not sure how people are getting to this consensus. The relevant texts: The Inquisitor - When attacking with your primary weapon at Range 2-3, treat the range of the attack as Range 1. Autothrusters - When defending, if you are beyond Range 2, or outside the attacker's firing arc, you may change 1 of your blank results to an [Evade] result. If an attack is treated as Range 1, then it can't be beyond Range 2. Not sure how you are getting to yours. It doesn't say "When defending at range 3 or greater" it says "if you are beyond Range 2." Your physical position never changes, It seems obvious that attacking at range one and physically being at range 3 are different things entirely. I guess we'll wait for the FAQ though. You only measure once, when attacking. With the Inquisitor, really you're only checking to see if you're at least Range 3, then say "Range 1 attack." It is then a range one attack for everything having to do with that combat. Pedantry aside, I feel like for most players, it is clear what they wanted to do with the Inquisitor, and that is "range 1 attacks, period." If they wanted him to simply throw 3 red dice, then they would've printed the card that way (and there is precedence for this, see the YT-1300). Or, the text might have said "When attacking, always use three attack dice" so that you wouldn't be throwing 4 at a "real" range 1. But because they specify combat range, the card text absolutely has everything to do with range bonuses and modifiers. To me, the card clearly prevents extra defense dice at range 3, and shuts down autothrusters beyond range 2, because it is a range 1 attack, always.

  6. Proton Rockets on the Inquisitor, and an Omega Squadron with Crackshot.Dunno how I feel about a range 1 weapon on a ship that wants to stay at range 3 as much as possible. Two suggestions: 1) Tempest Squadron with Accuracy Corrector- Good blocker, can barrel roll and still have great offense. Very durable. 2) Omega Squadron with Crackshot and either Weapons Guidance or Comm Relay- Beefed up filler with consistent offense or a regenerating defense depending on taste or if you want an init bid.
  7. I ordered August 28th and just got my shipping notification.
  8. I agree with Parakitor. Do we need another swarm ship? A better one at that? Also I agree with his comment about breaking the game. Too high a point cost wouldn't get used but it would cause me to buy it anyway because hey! It is Star Wars after all. This does seem to reinvigorate the TIE Advanced. Question (Opinion Poll): Do you think FFG should (or will) come out with separate Pilot and Ship Cards not too dissimilar to Star Trek Attack Wing? I'm just bummed about Captain Jonus' skill and him being on a bomber. In most builds I see people suggesting having him without any ordnance. It just seems weird to me that's all. I don't like it either, and I don't see why more people don't load him out with homing missiles, as if they're fired with a focus and target lock available benefit the least from his ability anyway.
