Felin reacted to any2cards in ::NOTICE JOKE TOPIC:: New Descent expansion announced!! ::NOTICE JOKE TOPIC::
I suppose it is possible that I would have fallen for this nonsense if it wasn't for the fact that the X-Wing forum is always littered with this stuff every single year.  I basically pretty much ignore posts made on or just before April 1.
I will give you a B+ for effort (as in the effort it took to create the link, the web page, etc., and the "+" is for amending your title).
Still, as I said before, we all know there will never be anymore physical content for D2e (<--- I wish this was the April Fool's joke).

ANA just confirmed they've been working on a new big box for Descent!
FINALLY! Check out the announcement page here. There isn't much information on the theme, but there is mention of a new Overlord "deception" mechanic.

Now wait a minute ... I am suppose to maintain a thread I started way back when, when even FFG themselves can't seem to bother to maintain their own product (and they are paid to do so to boot) ...
Oh alright ... give me a day.

Playing Word of Misery twice is impossible as it is discarded only at the end of the turn it is played. For cards that do not have a defined target I just found this uFAQ:
    Question:
    Answer:
I will include the following bullet in the CRRG:
Two Overlord cards with the same name
that do not have a clear, definite target cannot be played in response to the same triggering condition (e.g. such as "play this card at the start of your turn"). that do have a defined target (hero, monster, monster group, etc.) cannot be played on the same target in response to the same triggering condition. Each individual space a figure enters and each individual attack a figure performs is considered to be an individual triggering condition.

    @Sadgit:
you set the yellow in the normal row and one blue-set dice in the set row. This way you get the correct result.
What you set was 1blue (normal) 1blue(set) 1yellow(normal). And because of the normal blue dice, you got a 1/6 chance of rolling an X.
    @ Felin:
Good Idea, I'll add that in the next version.

We never seemed to have these kind of issues in 1st edition when the OL couldn't draw his entire deck into his hand.

No. As you said: the stone is an (attack-able) obstacle and not a monster (= enemy figure for heroes).

Felin reacted to Zaltyre in Black Out (Shadowmancer II) & heroes relative positioning
I do not see a reason the rules for Black Out would be different than those for Shadow (that is, the actual space matters, not the "as if" space).
That's not flawless logic when it comes to Descent, but precedent is better than nothing. Excepting a ruling (or other precedent) to the contrary, I agree with your deduction.

My group and I still houserule/handle our health as in Descent 1e where you start with the number of health as hearts on your sheet and take hearts away when you get damaged.
You get KO'd when you're at 0 hearts on your sheet.
From this point of view it makes more sense. When you get revived you get a number of health, no matter what your maximum health is.
Regarding RAW: For me the question is: do KO'd heroes even get to perform the equip phase?

Sadgit I think your actual steps description seem fine and more clear than the one actually on the CRRG that make me doubt !
Just as a reminder the rules states
So clearly the suffering step is before the KO 'state'

Felin reacted to Sadgit in Question on heroes being defeated
I would like to discuss (again) the exact sequence of events that are triggered when a hero who has access to abilities that modify his Health or Stamina (Survey, Brute, Iron Ring, etc.) is defeated.
According to my understanding of the rules and uFAQ the following happens in sequence:
    1. The hero has damage tokens equal to his current health on his card (either by suffering damage or by having his Health reduced)
    2. Abilities or effects like Death Siphon may be used and are resolved.
    3. If the hero has still damage tokens equal to his current Health, he is defeated.
    4. Effects and abilities that trigger when a hero is defeated may be used (e.g. Stalwart, One Fist's Heroic feat.)  and are resolved.
    5. Effects of being defeated trigger simultaneously:
The hero's turn ends. The hero suffers damage and fatigue up to his current Health and Stamina, respectively. Any abilities modifying Health and Stamina are still active. The hero replaces his hero figure by hero token. The hero discards any condition cards The OL gains an OL card or a threat token 6. The hero is considered to be knocked out
    7. Effects of being knocked out trigger:
The hero may not use abilities or benefit from passive abilities unless explicitly allowed. Any abilities that modify Health and Stamina are thus inactivated. Fatigue tokens suffered after step 5 remain on the Hero sheet (even tokens in excess of the current Stamina). Damage tokens in excess of the current Health are discarded. Do you agree with this point of view? The only problem that I see is with steps 6 and 7; the rules are a little bit vague when it comes to heroes being defeated vs. being knocked out.; e.g. One Fist's Heroic feat and Stalwart state that the hero is knocked out at the end. However, it would not make much sense if effects of being defeated (step 5) would be skipped. On the other hand, there seems to be a fine line distinguishing being defeated from being knocked out and associated effects. They are not the same.
    EDIT:
Another possibility to solve this would be to differentiate between the process of becoming knocked-out and the state of being knocked-out.

A kickstarter may not be a bad idea.
However what i've heard from other people starting one, you want to be pretty far with what you want to do before you make it public.
And be very sure how much you're going to spend on actually producing the product, otherwise you might end up paying more then what you get.
(That' being said, i certainly would back such a kickstarter :D)

I added a photo of my act 2 monster stack (filename act2_monsters_height.jpg).
Again, slightly squeezed and used to be a lot higher when the sleeves were new.

Just recounted the cards. 67 as well.
The image of the act 1 stack shows a height of 36mm. Not sure where you got the 33 mm from
As mentioned before, IMO the time how long the cards have been sleeved makes a huge difference how think a stack becomes.

    So
Little cards (shop, hero class, etc..)
    naked dimensions : 40,7x63,1 mm
    sleeved dimensions : 44x67 mm

Big cards (monsters, OL cards, etc..)
    naked dimensions : 56,6x88,4 mm
    sleeved dimensions : 59,2x93,1 mm

    Hero cards
    naked dimensions : 102x127 mm
    sleeved dimensions : 104,2x128,3 mm
For info my hero sleeves are from Swan:
    https://www.swanpanasiasleeves.com/products/swan-card-sleeves-103x128mm-100-pack-thin-sleeves-talisman-character-cards
    or with an image
    http://www.smiling-monster.com/Card-Sleeves/Standard-Card-Sleeves/Swan-card-protection-sleeves-103mm-x-128mm-100-pcs-thin::181.html?language=en
Last thing to notice, I already found that from one sleeve pack to another sometimes theres is a difference.. so perhaps highter my sleeved dimensions by at least 1 mm (hight and width) to avoid these types of drawbacks !
