  1. But scenes were cut, so we do not see Leia and the Resistance trying to convince the Rpublic that the Order is real and a real threat to the Republic and the Galaxy, and get their support.

Was it a mistake to leave out this information, or did they know that the regular movie watcher wouldn`t care and that Star Wars fans would read up on it and find it out or be exighted about an extended version?

I will comment only this part.

In Episode IV we learn as the movie goes that:

    - There is the evil Empire

    - The Empire is rule by the Emperor

    - Before the Empire was the Republic

    - There was a Senate

    - There were JK who were guardians of peace bla bla

    - We learn that there are different opinions inside the Empire.

All the info the viewers learn as the movie progress. We are informed about the galaxy and we understand what is happening. Same goes for Ep I.

What do we learn in Ep VII? Almost nothing. Everything pops out from the box just like that. And then the Coruscant is destroyed and nobody cares. I really miss GL. He could put Ewoks or Jar Jar, but at least he explained what is happening in the background.

  2. Can anyone share how she or he ran the auction? I am a bit confused with it...

The adventure says that participants do not know how much each bidder bid and are only informed by the droids about the current high bid. So the players start walking from one NPC to another lying about the current high bidder, but the NPC knowing the bid rules should be immediately suspicious about some unknown people (or race winners) walking around and sharing such knowledge, pushing them to bid more. Has anyone ran this differently?

Also, the difficulties listed for the social checks during the auction are often not based on the statistics. I dont buy this, the characters should be given boosts if they touch a sensitive topic for a specific bidder, not lowering his Discipline/Cool. Any opinions?

The adventure says that characters slice into the high bidder account....how did they got that number? As I try to figure out this financial event, I came out with such flow of the events:

The characters are given by Arend Shen (he is a financier and he may have access to such info) the bank accounts (for that specific auction only) of the auctioning house for each bidder into which the high bidder must transfer the money after winning the auction. The next day, in the morning, Grayson will receive his money from the auctioning house minus the Cloud City bank provision and taxes. Between that time the characters have a window to grab the money.

I really appreciate any comment and ideas. Thanks!

  3. I would say that in the Ep VI we see only the "main task force" of the rebel scum(m)s. If we follow the EU, there were plenty rebel cells around the galaxy fighting with their limited resources with acts of sabotage, guerrilla warfare, etc. The fleet battles happened before and after the Ep IV. And in case of Ep IV, there is not even the main task force, just one of their main bases, maybe the only one that Leia knows about at that moment. But even if we disregard the EU, remember this quote from the movie: "The Rebel Alliance is too well equipped. They're more dangerous than you realize.Could an Imperial general be preoccupied with a group that had roughly 30 starfighters?  ;)

  4. From p.281 under the Range Upgrade for the Sense power...

"Spend [Force point icon] to increase the range at which the character senses living things by a number of range bands equal to the number of Range upgrades purchased."

The next sentence says: "The user may active this multiply times, increasing the range by this number each time."

I am not sure if I understand this correct. If a PC rolls 3 Force Points, he can spend 1 FP for activating Sense Power and 2 FP to increase the range by the number of Range upgrades purchased. So, if he has one upgrade, he may sense up to Long range with 2 FP. If he has two upgrades, he may sense beyond Extreme range with 2 FP. Is this correct?

  5. Vader is still the arrogant ass that Anakin always was. There's nothing in that character that wouldn't toy with outclassed enemies.

Vader is arrogant because he is needed to be like that to "sell" the season and bring the kids to watch the series. Vader from the books after the III episode is already different and learning. Vader from the comics chasing Obi-Wan after III episode murdered Jedi Knights at the conclave who set a trap on him without any toying or hesitation. Oopps these books and comics are not canon anymore, this way we can make him stupid and arrogant again and sell more.

  6. In my games I introduced simple "morality" system adapted from my friend's Mass Effect d6 system.

Paragon and Renegade points are introduced:
This game does not deal with the idea of “good” and “evil”, but of being brutal or gentle in various situations. It`s also about being selfish or selfless. If you're playing a morally good person who helps the locals fight off a slavers attack for no reward or personal gain, you could be awarded with a Paragon point for your efforts. If your character is greedy and selfish and demands payment after saving the locals, you could be given a Renegade point by a GM.
The Paragon and Renegade apart from showing the nature of the individual, give a bonus to skill checks.
Given for selfish or selfless and good or evil actions, the players can spend:
    - 1 point to upgrade Deception, Charm, Leadership, Discipline, Cool and Coercion checks,
    - 1 point to gain Boost die to any other (not mentioned above) skill check,
    - 2 points to gain an extra Force die to a Force check.

Examples of use of the Paragon/Renegade points in case of the social check upgrades:
If you want to Coerce thugs and force them to back off or else, you could use only a Renegade point.
If you want to convince a Hutt that killing you will be bad for his buisness and profits, you can use only Paragon point, but a Renegade point could be used to convince him to murder someone else because he got the wrong person. In both cases Negotation/Charm.

  7. Have you ever heard what the Hungarians were called in the WWII and Cold War Era?

ALIENS. We couldnt speak any language beside ours well.

We have a language which is hard to learn and whoever is a native speaker has to practice a LOT I mean a whole lot not have any accent of other languages.

Try learning Polish and then tell me again how hard is your language :P.

Lengyel, magyar – két jó barát, együtt harcol, s issza borát.

  8. I had something to bounce off you guys, as I am not as well informed about Star Wars lore. How does the Empire view the Wookies?

I know they have largely been enslaved by the Empire, but presumably there are still some out in the wild living free. How badly persecuted are these free wookies? Arrested on sight? Left alone unless they cause problems? Could one visit an Imperial world without difficulty?

I'd say it all depends which world and how strong is Imperial presence. On Core Worlds definitively not legally, but as you move far away and away from Coruscant, so does the law relax. After all Tatooine was an Imperial world and no one bothered Solo's first mate....but then it was a movie and we learned that this is an Imperial world with an Imperial governor only from the WEG sourcebooks years later.

  9. I'm not so certain about the Imperials not patrolling Bothan Space. Is there any source on that?

Tfu, I mean Imperial presence on the Bothans planets is very small. The Imperial fleet is there.

Shadows of the Empire Planets Guide describes Bothawui, Kothlis, Rodia and Vergesso Asteroid Field.

  10. I have a PC super-slicer so I had to work out rules what can be sliced and how -  I really wanted to avoid Shadowrun4 situations where slicers could control everything via wireless and be safe locked in their lair. So I expanded on Shadowrun ideas - almost everything is cabled, because wireless access is too dangerous and most buildings have 'anti-wi-fi coating' in their structure.

That said low-level wireless networks are possible, like news, controlling simple droids and machines etc - so the slicer still has stuff to do for example in combat (and slicing action in starship combat).

Hacking into cabled network doesn't mean you have access to everything, though. Some things operate on closed-off basis, need biometric data to access or you can hack from 'hubs' - which have to be infiltrated personally first in order to access the port.

I am afraid of the same thing with my slicer. I think good idea is to make military facilities without WIFI for the main network due to the security measures. So, the officer can still send orders through datapads/comlinks (tablets/smartphones) wireless, but to have an access to the information databanks stored inside the facility, they have to use computers.
