  1. Nope, GM shoyuld spend on Destiny on healing, repairing, modding. Let the players sweat a bit :>.
  2. Force Unleashed is not there, rebellion was created as stated in WEG sourcebooks, not during some crazy plots with dozens of Jedi popping-cloning from nowhere and intrigues followed by intrigues. I hated when ppl responsible for the books started squeezing more and more between movies and already existing novels just to put few bucks more into Lucas pocket. And big NO for the Kevin J. Anderson books also known as "I don't know how to create an interesting story so I will put a few tons of superweapons instead". Of course Han Solo shots first!
  3. Also Platt's Starports Guide which gives some examples how the custom officers works depending on the type of a starport.
  4. What happens? A new adventure happens abroad Imperial starship where captain says: we have captured you and can send you to Kessel for 30 years, but we just need a bunch of idiots ...I mean heroes! who will "volunteer" for a suicide mission. I'd say that every time they roll a Despair and there is a good place, you can insert some Imp evil tax collectors showing. Of course if you need to harass players or move them toward some direction in the story.
  5. This is a great program. However two issues with it. #1. It doesn't calculate Triumph/Despair as success. Hmm? It does calculate T/D correctly as success/failure and T/D at the same time.
  6. Does anyone know where I can download podcasts 1-10? On the webpage I see only from 11 to 25 - http://start.d20radio.com/home/the-order-66-podcast
  7. x0.5 can only be made by modifying a x1 hyperdrive, a lot of work, spare parts and difficult check, there was even a nice rule for that, in SAGA starship perhaps?
  8. Has anyone seen any similar table online? http://triumphdespair.wordpress.com/2012/11/23/u-is-for-utinni/
  9. you poor thing. last week in a game where i am a human noble who was a world champion in vibrosword duels in highschool (a marauder with a vibrosword) we got 27xp for the following: travel to a planet, fix a malfunctioned hyperdrive along the way, scan the planet, find a broken ship, land and walk through the forrest, have the trandosian search the pod for clues while we distract an insect swarm with fire and smoke, went back to the ship, had 1 octopy attack, killed it and scared off the rest, got on board, moved to the main wreckage. searched 1 room, then went to the cockpit, got attacked by 3 nexu, killed 1 having it fall on me gimli/worg style, then the other 2 were injured enough that they fled. thats it, took us 2hrs after deducting time wasted. and we get 20xp base +6 (3 x 2xp of amazingly good skill checks) and 1 out of a max of 3 for role playing since not match happened to my character. Not impressive. In one session my team managed to wake up a Reaper and avoid an entire squad of Asari commandos ..... ups not this universe .
  10. Just finished my second session of a campaign. The team, in one day of game (two sessions 3,5h), enjoyed a stay in a shelter (Tosche Station) during a sandstorm with stormtroopers (no shots were fired, so that was just en event), defeated a swoop gang who was looting a farm, defeated a rearguard of Sand People group who raided the farm, saved Wayfar from destruction from Tusken hand by preparing defenses and sending a brave scout to call for Imperial help. All in all 15 XPs for that plus there will get some cards from Destiny Deck for roleplaying. Now they have read this folder and started complaining about the amount. Please, stop writing here these crazy amounts of XP you are giving as you are spoiling my players . Good idea, I will provide my players with cards to stamp when we start the game, but also to deduct the time spend on off-topics and needless discussions.
  11. thats all good but some players dont meet often, i believe 10xp per hour is a good ratio. so a 3-4hr session like we have gives between 30 and 40 xp Nice !!!! During 3,5 hours of a session my team had three small encounters during one day. They have still one encounter ahead of them and possible one more before the "episode" ends. I won't award more than 15 XPs for all (plus extra points for roleplaying) and that includes the second session. You are very generous GMs.
  12. I only give XP for completing a task, roleplaying, clever ideas, beating a tough opponent. Good rolling and beating hordes of minions never deserves more than 1 XP IMO.
  13. Played yesterday and had this problem too. Does anyone know a solution apart from restarting hangout?
  14. For me the shields work in an abstract way. They give Defence bonus which mechanically means that the shot has a bigger chance to miss, but we can imagine that the shot did not miss, but the shields absorbed the shot. However, when the target is hit then we can imagine that the shot was powerful enough to go through shields. In this simple way FFG managed to skip the problem of counting points or dice as it was in d20 and d6. They ignored recharging and we have (almost) a nice, elegant combat system.
  15. Just starting to run a campaign starting on Tatooine. Thanks a lot!
  16. My team starts with the ship bought from the Hutt. But ups, the ship broke down on the first mission (intro) and the ship is there, just bury somewhere in the desert of Tatooine....they dont even know where exactly. They have to repay the debt to the guy who saved, find the ship and ups, there is also an angry Hutt.
  17. Always! Especially in Cthulhu. That makes game more fun
  18. I've got the book. Not all the equipment and vehicles have illustrations - that's a big minus IMO. I like the idea of extended talent trees. I find the book to have too little equipment, also lack some basic planet/mission generator like it was in GG: Scouts. I'd like to see that much more instead of detailed ideas for character's background. I general OK, but nothing special for me.
  19. As a GM I advice not to bother with a full conversion at all. How many times you really need those stats in the game? Just treat 1D as 1 for characteristics and add 1 or 2 upgrades in most important skills for that character according to the role. Polish up major opponents, give a special NPC talent as given in the rulebook for NPCs and go. Need something? Improvise and spent pre-session time instead to get to know the story and plot better as this campaign is HUGE.
  20. Other idea to complicate slicing credchip: Each time you use a credchip, it access your bank network to notify the bank about transaction exactly like with debit/credit card on our world. If you are on remote planet, then your credchip is useless and ANY slicing will end with credchip being destroyed (money are unharmed on a bank account). Remember that there is no free-4-all holonet in the galaxy, that means credchips works only within several systems that are covered by the citizen's bank in a region. Once you want to use it outside his bank area, you have to go to a bigger bank in the new sector and through that bank communicate with your bank (major banks have some restricted access to holonet to communicate between themselves for the purpose of galactic economy) to be able to use his credchip in the new area. So if you want to slice a credchip and buy something for it, no problem, just know that everything is recorded and surveilance cameras are at any credit machine. If you want to transfer money from stolen credchip to yours, no problem, just know that this will be recorded by a bank so you have to have dozens of false bank accounts with forged IDs which are carefully analyzed by a bank when you open bank account. Also Coruscant bank wont transfer any money to any account on some bank on a forgotten planet even if it has access to holonet for the banks. Think of it as airlines that are banned from entering EU because they technical security is too low, so you can use these airlines only in areas they operate on your own risk.
