  1. Can have the Crane though so it can get 2 or 3 bomb shots during a game, it's not awful is it.
  2. Obviously it's not that they are making new munitions on the fly, that would be stupid..... Scum are notoriously bad at paying the bills, so obviously Jabba has put them on a meter. They can't get any more missiles until the meter is fed... the Scavenger Crane just magnetises in all the enemies loose change.
  3. Same old sh... You're confusing realism with coherence. Old SW (I mean, first 3 movies and pre-prelogy EU) was quite OK. The point of fantasy/science fiction IS to break "realism" with a big "what if". Hence, yeah, you get to break some rules, but you have to make quite clear which rules and stay coherent with it.The spectator accepts this (it is called willing suspension of disbelief) by suspending his scepticism about those things so he can enjoy the story. If you reinvent the rules without notice, then you break the contract between the spectator and the storyteller. And this is harmful for the fantasy universe we all like. I don't want you staring at my willy suspension in disbelief, thank you.
  4. Are you telling me that the scavenger crane is magic? Nah it just has a really big magnet, and a team of really souped up droids.
  5. I know you only get moved for the first token (otherwise, way too easy to throw someone off the board) but it would be funny if you could use 3 to throw Soontir on a rock, roll him off, then throw him back on it. Yeah I had that thought in my mind then realized... nope can't do that.
  6. Obviously 3 of them, so you can make Soontir Agility 0 and best friends with a rock.
  7. The Quadjumper can't take LRS. It doesn't have a Missile or a Torpedo slot and you need both of them to take LRS. A cheap ship with a missile, torpedo, and tech slot will make an excellent target painter. What a shame, it would have been awesome, it doesn't have a target lock either, so you would have to use Manaroo to hand it TLs for the Targeting Synchronizer so that would be really silly. Not every things has to be obti-malls. But if you are taking Manaroo and a Quad there is hardly any room for Kihraxzyxyxyazyayxyayzyayyyzyxyxyyyayzyyxyyydxyayyzyxyaysydyayyyyyyzy...

  9. But can you deny that if they had had a squadron of Falcons rather than X-Wings the job wouldn't have been a darn sight easier.
  10. The other interesting option for this kind of build is take a Quad in the mix, with Targeting Synchronizer and Long Range Scanner. Get an early Target lock with the Quad, then use it so all the Ks in your squad can take a missile shot without using a TL. You could also fly your Quad in and Tractor your target. So your missiles are more likely to hit. And you wouldn't necessarily need Dead Eye, which gives you the option of Atanni Mindlink.
  11. Er nope... but if you are playing Special-Ks with missiles and Scavenging Crane, you fire your missile and then either the enemy or one of their wingmates dies within range 1-2 your missile refills. The card reads: "After a ship [i interpret to mean ANY ship] is destroyed at range 1-2, you may choose a discarded Torp, missile, bomb, cannon, turret or modification upgrade card that ship [i read this as the destroyed ship] that was equipped to your ship [i read as the one with the crane card] and flip it face up...." The only reason a cannon, turret, or mod slot would be facedown is Boba or if they consider all cards of destroyed ships to be face down. This is what I am confused about. You are misquoting. Important phrase "that was equipped to your ship". So it refreshes cards your ship has used or had destroyed. Agree. Mmm....we will see any Turrent/Cannon with a "discarding" effect soon? It's called Boba Fett *shakes fist*

  13. True, but the basic gameplay doesn't change drastically in those formats, at least not as far as I know. You're still trying to get the other guy to zero life points. Some of them quite a bit, Drafting you are having to guess what the enemy is using and pick up the cards to counter it as you are creating your deck at the event rather than using your own cards. EDH you can only ever have 1 of any card in your deck, which means you can't be guaranteed combos, so you have to be a lot more sneaky in construction, also you will see cards that normally won't make the cut in standard decks. Emperor and 2 Headed Giant are both team versions so you have to protect yourself but also your ally as ending up 1v2 means death. Commander you have 1 powerful card that keeps coming back and defines both your deck building options and how your deck handles. They all will change what cards you will use, which cards are powerful, and also some have different victory goals, Emperor you need to take out the opponents Emperor, but he can't be touched until you deal with his generals.
  14. I've seen a group run a tournament where there were a list of the 3 least played ships in each of the 3 factions, and your list must contain one ship from the list. That is an interesting way of getting people to think about new lists, and lets people stretch their list building muscles.

  16. You also have players who may very well enjoy playing in tournaments but not in it's current format. I enjoy playing competitively and as such I'd take part in tournaments pretty much no matter what the format was, 100/6 or something else. But there are people who may find competitive events enjoyable, but really dislike the 100/6 and so a change in format could be what it takes to have them show up. On the other hand, you may see people stop showing up because they don't like the new format. That is what the 100/6's strongest feature is, it's fairly generic and likely to appeal to the largest number of people, but without trying something else we'll never know. I also wonder if the 100/6 system isn't something that appeals to the MtG types... Because those of us who come from a tabletop miniature background we're much more used to scenario play, even in tournaments. Even Magic has Standard Tournaments, Double headed Giant, Sealed Deck, Booster Draft, Elder Dragon Hinterland, Commander, Emperor, Multiplayer.
  17. You need a way to get an action as the move is red (but there is a tech slot that can do that). This is Star Wars, when has that ever NOT been the case.... Look a the Falcon, the Outrider.....
  18. As a Skaven player... I like Win Big / Lose Big mechanics.... Over the course of a game they generally even out, and you just have to fly on the seat of your pants... Like a proper rat, rather than rest on your laurels like some filthy Rebel.
  19. The problem is there is a limited pool of players... You have players which will never play tournaments, but their play experience will be shaped by gamers in their community that will only EVER play 100/6 because that is perceived to be the only valid way to play due to tournaments. I've seen it again and again in different systems, as soon as there is a tournament standard that is all that a significant part of the community will touch. It is the nature of any system which lists aren't mirrored. If you want interesting interactions there will be models those interactions will be good against and models they will be bad against. As you have correctly stated, the important thing is it doesn't end up Rock vs Scissors... A Rock / Paper / Scissors / Lizard / Spock / Random Mutant thing somewhere in the middle, is what you are looking for.
  20. I think it's going to be easier to get into range 1 than you think.... You are going to move first as you will be lower PS, and you will know where the Ace is. You are going to get to do an action before it gets to shoot.... If you then move it 1 forward it will probably overshoot you.
  21. Can you manage to slot 2 Special-Ks and 2 Zs with it into a list?
  22. Quadjumper article... https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/11/22/fly-backward/
  23. Correct. It's....probably not as good as extra munitions in that only one ship benefits per kill, and they specifically have to get the kill, but its a good use for the illicit slot on a missile bus - either Khiraxz or Z-95. I'd probably look at using it on the Z-95, though because with lower firepower the Z-95 is more about the oh dear holy bloody god N'Dru Suhlak can get multiple cluster missile shots sorry I kind of lost my train of thought there. Read it again Grendel Just needs a ship at range 1-2 of it to be destroyed, and nothing says multiple ships can't trigger off a single death.
