That seems incorrect in my eyes because you still could end up drawing that side quest in your "normal" starting hand. Thurindir triggers after drawing your hand (and possible mulligan) and you can search your deck for another sidequest (if you still have one in there).

We need to put an end to this myth.
Having followed this ruling for a while, it seems to have all started several years ago when danpoage got his Beorn blanked at GenCon, and Caleb, looking on, allowed the attachments to stay when he became un-blanked.
What I think happened there is that Caleb forgot about the text "Cannot have attachments" thinking only that Beorn had the text "Immune to player card effects." If this were the case, then you would indeed be prevented from attaching player cards to him, but if you managed to do so while he was blank, they would stay on when he becomes un-blanked. However as Beorn becomes unblanked he would also become immune to his attachments, making most attachments worthless anyway. i believe Caleb mentioned as much at the time, reinforcing this idea that Caleb was only concerned about the "immune to player card effects" text.
As others have mentioned, "Cannot have attachments" is actually the relevant text here. It is passive, and absolute.
Back in April 2016 we had a big fight about this on Discord, with one side arguing based on the aforementioned "GenCon ruling" and the other side (basically just me) arguing that it made no sense. I have posted the whole discussion below. Be sure to read to the end, and note that Feonix is Matt Newman, co-developer of the game.

Passive abilities always check the game status. So when Beorn gets his text back, any attachment will be discarded immediately. It's different to restrictions on attachments because a condition like "can only be played on a lore hero" is only checked when you want to play that kind of attachment. Once it's down you don't need to pay the cost for that attachment anymore and since it's attached to a character you don't need to "play" that attachment again.
I hope you guys understand what I tried to say here

I believe that the relevant ruling here is the (reversal) that was made around cards like Ancient Mathom and locations with "Immune to Player Card Effects". It used to be that the Ancient Mathom would stay, but at some point Caleb reversed that so that the Ancient Mathom falls off (if you manage to attach it while a location does not have immunity, but the location later gains immunity). It is correct that "Cannot have attachments" is only checked when playing the attachment on Beorn, so if he was blank through some effect, you could attach an attachment to him and it would not fall off when he regains "Cannot have attachments". Since that passive is only checked for when the card was first played, it doesn't matter that he regains that text at a later time. However, if you are staying consistent with the ruling for Ancient Mathom and immune locations, any attachments would fall off of Beorn once he regains "Immune to Player Card Effects" since that is what happens to locations with player card attachments when they gain immunity. This is my interpretation, based on the latest rulings, but we really should confirm this with Caleb.

It was 47 out of 60 (Niklas and I build up some defense  ) so not even close  Great quest and truly a great experience everybody should try out if they get enough people together to play epic multiplayer in real life or via OCTGN.

My guess would be a spirit-Aragorn since it's the only missing sphere for him and probably fellowship-Sam together with a new Frodo (maybe leadership?!).

You commit all your characters at the same time. But yes, in multiplayer you could use the knowledge of the top card to advise everyone after you in the player order.

I want you to re-read some posts because it might remove the feeling that you're being targeted.  Go back to dale's post, then read RichardPlunkett's post two steps above that, in which he mentions the 'nastiest interpetation possible.'    Then skip your own post and re-read dale's post (the one that you quoted).  Because I don't think dale was responding to you, but rather to Richard.  So "worst interpretation ever" was not meant as a Simpson's Comic Book Guy "Worst. Interpretation. Ever." but rather as a reference to what Richard mentioned: often the "hardest" interpretation is the one the designers choose.
Beyond that I see no personal attack, and nothing that should have prompted you to write that the reply was "discourarging" and made you not want to participate more, so I assume that the "worst interpretation ever" part was what you took issue with.
We're a generally polite community.  Probably this was a misunderstanding.

I though so too because Roheryn was designed to prevent enemy attacks but still that situation could go either way so I send in the rule question describing and linking this thread here and Caleb responded:

Yeah, direct damage like Gandalf/Orcslayer doesn't count as an attack so you don't need Ranged for it. Same goes for moving damage with Infighting. There are a couple of other options in this area - Descendant of Thorondor and Beorning Beekeeper - though they're both a bit expensive. More possibilities turn up as the card pool expands as well. Attack boost on a Ranged character or simply having multiple Ranged characters band together is probably your easiest option though.

Agree! Sneakattacak+Orcslayer (a great Combo in this scenario) works fine but if you want consistency you should go back to good old Thalin. I made a deck with Dain/Thalin/Bifur out of the card pool you mentioned and it worked just fine. If you can grab a Gondorian-Speerman in your opening hand and Thalin questes every round you're good to go against the horde of 2-hitpoint Goblins without even attacking (and thus avoiding nasty shadow effects). Cave-troll would be a problem but I guess that will be the case in most solo-games against this scenario

I guess it all depends on perspective and play-style - which is why the contest doesn't have any criteria for "best hero" in the first place.   I normally play 2-4 players, so typically at least 1 person includes a bunch of spirit for questing and someone else uses Tactics for combat.  In those scenarios, while Aragorn is never a bad option, he's somewhat unnecessary, and I find you are typically better off running an elf and gaining access to the best weapon suite available.

An eagle hero would be so nice!!! Eagles are still good and can be played but they are just so daimn expensive. An attachment to give Prince Imrahil the eagle trait would be nice too but I figure that will not gonna happen (or will it?! ).

Starting a thread so people can post the things they would like or expect too see in the game for 2017 or beyond. Can be in terms of quests, player cards, community events, whatever. For my part these are my top wishes:

    1) Exploration of the Artifact trait.

We've gotten Titles, Traps, even Skills lately. Why can't we have more Artifacts? One of Tolkien's chiefest themes is the corruption of wealth and artifice. Powerful, risky magical objects like the Palantiri, Lesser Rings and other jewels should IMO be in the game, as in an actual mini-theme or archetype (not even gonna bother mentioning the current Palantir card), and the forsaken Doomed keyword would be a thematic home run to unify these themes. I want to use more my The Seeing-stone and Keys of Orthanc!

*As an bonus, I'd really like to see "saga only" artifacts such as Sting, Phial of Galadriel, etc as player cards as well.

    2) More Istari heroes.

Radagast and Saruman need new versions; I think a fair number of people would agree with that. Now that we have Gandalf hero, I think Radagast and Saruman heroes are not too much of a stretch. The latter wizard would ideally work with the Doomed/Artifact theme while Radagast can revitalize Eagles or Creatures (or, as I did in my custom version, deal with resource and sphere matches as a "changer of hues"). Alatar and Pallando are, sadly nothing more than a pipe dream at this point.

    3) Bombadil and Goldberry allies.

I know most players would not like to see these characters as heroes or allies for obvious reasons, but IMO a game that's based on the LOTR novels and aims to be encyclopedic in its detail (taking very obscure characters and places and expanding on them) and DOESN'T have a Goldberry card is doing something wrong. Sure, I'd be against having them as straight up heroes or allies, but IMO the perfect way to incorporate them would be giving them another botched keyword in the game, the Encounter keyword. As soon as I saw the Ranger of the North I thought this mechanic would be just perfect to use with Bombadil and Goldberry allies. Sure, if not playing a quest set in the Shire there's some thematic concessions to be made (isn't the game full of those though?), but for such whimsy characters the Encounter keyword is perfect. You're not calling them outright to your cause, but instead relying a bit on luck to have them pop up on their own will from the encounter deck, which is thematically perfect IMO. An event like "Hey Dol, Merry Dol" that shuffled Bombadil into the encounter deck would be so great. And yeah, the Ranger did not receive a great response, but I still think there's easily a way to make them playable and balanced.

    4) Good/player locations

Long explanation is in dragoncymru's thread. I'd just like to have a card type that represents actual good and helpful locations in the game. If locations are not gonna be "neutral" as in MECCG, for thematic reasons I think it'd be fair to have good locations such as Edoras/Minas Tirith, Lórien, etc.

What are your wishes for the future life of the game?

I definitely would like to see heroes make allies, like it was the case with Legolas, Gimli and Sam. I would love to see Aragorn, Elladan and Elrohir allies.
I would like "official erratas" for cards which are not used in the game. I don't see the reason why it is accepted the practice to nerf cards but not the practice to "improve" cards, Brook Ironfist, Radagast...
I agree regarding the locations, there are some good locations, but very few.
    Some eagle heroes

Creature player cards (give us a reason to dust off ol' Radaghast)

Re-do on Eagles and finally some Eagle heroes.
