  1. Awesome, thank you! I think converting it shouldn't be too hard and will give them a little more ownership of the characters. So far we've got the wookie, the droid, and the ace. Not sure what others want to do, but this helps a lot. Just really wasn't sure if there was something I was missing with the careers and all. I misunderstood how SkyJedi worked but logging into it now it seems super easy too.
  2. Hi all! Some of this might be pretty stupid but I'm new to this and am going to try to run an Edge of the Empire game for some of my students while we're all quarantined. I have the EotE and AoR starter sets and books and am looking through stuff but am slightly confused. First, I'm going to try to get 6 PCs and I've read that's workable with making some things tougher or more numerous. Is that true and will mixing in a few of the premade dudes from the AoR starter into the EotE opening scenario work ok? One girl wants to play Zal who could easily have crashed on Tatooine and having a pilot would seem to be a good idea. Also, the character sheets have a short skill tree which doesn't match what's there under the different careers. Should I just use those and have them respec into the larger skill trees at some point if the game goes long enough? Finally, I'm checking out Roll20 and hear tell of something to load Star Wars dice into it but can't seem to find it. Is it a myth? I could always just roll everything myself and use my document camera for dice I suppose. Thanks in advance and I'm sure I'll have some more silly questions.
  3. Definitely 2 Resistance Transports because having a C3P0 carrier for cheap is going to open up a ton of gameplay possibilities. I think this thing is going to be almost as useful as the escape craft for Scum. 1, maybe 2 Naboo fighters, 2 Hyenas since they look really fun, and probably at least 1 B-wing an 1 Silencer for the new models.
  4. With Hyperspace becoming a thing I think those few who stick with Imperials are going to start to really like Del Meeko a lot more.
  5. Thanks, that explains it. So what I thought were differences in rank or posting were the equivalent of the light grey and blue grey Ties!
  6. So I always thought that the Imperial officers in the drab/tan (depending on color settings) uniforms were fleet and the black shirts were commandos, kind of like in Dark Forces but maybe I'm wrong: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_military_uniforms Heck, even RotS has a whole bridge crew wearing a more neutral grey, so I guess they're interchangeable? ,FFG have the same mini painted in green and black in different previews, but it would be nice to get some sculpt variants if that's the sum total of officers we'll get. Is the suspiciously fleet-trooper-like helmeted commando in the Specialist pack all we're likely to get of those uniforms? I'd kind of imagined the latter running around in units. Pilot figures would be cool but they'd be hard to imagine running around a battlefield. Would something like a figure for a downed pilot mini paired with some sort of extraction objective be the sort of thing that could be included in a competitive game or would it imbalance things? Speaking of which, you also have ATAT drivers:
  7. How much does the spouse (I presume) actually know about the items involved? If little, it could be pretty simple.
  8. I'm not allowed to have fun until the Feast of Alvis.
  9. Only had a couple games but they've gone reasonably well with this. Sure it needs some tuning but I've had to take initiative vs another Poe and it's been fine. So far I've been using Ello to flank and the predictability of Poe and Tubbs going together hasn't been a problem, and swarming him up to 6 helps keep him relevant and messes with target priority just a bit. Both of those matches the other player tried to convince me to swap Ello for Nien, but the ability to turn around easily with those tallon-rolls really helped me chase things down. Curious what people think. 10. I just switched it around in my head. The bid is so that I can use my own objectives. So my basic worry is whether one ISD II can kill enough ships, since the Interdictor will get in there, but isn't going to be doing as much shooting, though the capacitors will help.
  11. Thanks this helps a lot! I'd be going to one near San Francisco. Anyway, does one list seem better? With X-wing as my main game, I'm a little afraid of loading up too much on upgrades over getting more ships on the board. If I went for Gozantis, am I taking Comms Net to just pass a couple more concentrate fire tokens to Thrawn? That seems like it's doing less than a ship that can still shoot with a few dice. And just what counts as a small fighter screen? I've got one of everything, doubles of a few ships, and can scare up second flotilla if need be. So maybe go to Imperial 2 with XI7 and drop a Tie to keep the bid? Similarly, two GR-75s to just pass tokens then and maybe take a generic YT to add another counter to my A-wings? For this one I'm assuming I'll just be First Player on the other fellow's objectives, but I guess I could drop one GR-75 for a crazy bid? 12. Hi all. I've had a hard time finding people to play this game with but found out there's a regional near me (less than 5 hours) in January. I probably shouldn't fly anything too finicky but like Star Destroyers and the big Mon Cals. If I can at least give a couple people a run for their money I'll be happy. So I have two ideas here, that depend on some other questions being answered. First, this one would basically let me reshape the field a bit so I could distract from my own lack of a plan by messing with the other guy's. But, how does grav-shift reroute work with objectives? Can I move a station too? Would this be enough of a bid? 13. I'm liking Daredevil + BB8 and Black One if I can afford it.
  14. Formations are a lot of fun to fly, particular with a view to the moment they break. The turn or two in which you go from an orderly little box to an orchestrated chaos of strategic bumps and blocks is the best part of the game!
