  1. I can understand having space limits for events, (still cant figure out why X-wing made a move to a Wednesday). I guess thing thing that helped me miss out this year was how different signing up was from previous years. I remember having all the time in the world after tickets went on sale the previous years. So on my lunch break Monday took a trip to the bank, not even thinking there would be no chance to get my ticket after work that day. I get back to work and see on FB that they sold out already. Even then we have a few local guys who tried but due to the tech issues on FFG site they never were able to get theirs.
  2. I was hoping to stream the games for the HOTH event live on twitch.tv but the internet at the venue just wasn't up to it. I am slowly getting all the games that were recorded at the event posted onto Youtube. I hope to have them all posted and ships lists posted with the video by the end of the day. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsy8amPvj1-2uJcjCDXHSeQ AS a side note I'm thinking of recording more games in the future. Please leave feedback if this is something that the community would like to watch. Thanks!!

  4. Just a heads up that the plan will be to stream the top table for this event. Tested it out last night and everything looks good as long as the WiFi holds up. Stream will be at http://www.twitch.tv/agedsuperdave Also Starslinger72(Tyler Tippet) will be tweeting updates throughout the event. @Xwing_Broadcast

  6. So my two cents to add to this discussion. So I think the pod system is a really cool, and a great way to play a CGC/LCG without being a deck builder person. My wife really likes it, the only deck limits she had to worry about is the objective limits. She grabs the five cards with the objective x 10, and boom there is her deck. But there is another side to this pod system, and this is the lack of variety in decks. In high-end events for any game you have the people who are min/maxing everything they play. But normally you have a little variety within those deck. For example in Netrunner there are times where it feels like everyone is playing NBN, but there are still variations of the same deck type. Different cards people add here and there to fit their play style better. Times where you go "wow I didn't see that card coming". In SW LCG you just don't have enough of that. If everyone brings the 10 best DS objectives everyone else will have the same deck. This is where the "OMG PEOPLE ONLY PLAY X=META DECK" deck is coming from. I'm more then likely wrong. I just think if they removed the pod system, still had resource matching, and had a 2-4 of each card limit. It would open up so many more option and variations.
  7. I will be playing on PS4. My PSN name is the same as my FFG one. Feel free to add me. I haven't played console games, for a long time, but having double knee replacement in a few months and figured I needed something to keep me busy.
  8. I have found that for most people a game on vassal takes a little bit longer then in real life. Then some games on vassal take a lot longer. Once you know the hot-keys it isn't to bad, but the biggest time sink is a vassal game starts once collisions start to happen. Have to back track moves and then micro them into place. I would say a hour 1 1/2 - 2 hours should be expected. But I could be wrong and find out I'm the slow poke.
  9. Critical hit Games - Iowa City, IA E-Wing Defender (me) Phantom Z-95 I played imperials for the showcase game and from my short time playing, the Phantom was a blast to play. Bouncing all over the place them boom getting into range one for the shot.
  10. Superfurrymaniac, PM me your mailing address and I'll send you some. I have more then I'll ever use.
  11. You are correct. I don't have the rule book with me to quote the page #. But the shield would take the normal damage.
  12. Here is what I have. Team Covenant movement/range templates. Litko target locks and custom shield tokens. Game Night kit stress tokens. I'm really happy with what I have. The Team Covenant templates are great, but cost a little more then others I have seen that were just as good. I love the target locks from Litko. Having numbered TL instead of the double sided letter ones greatly increases my quality of life when it comes to looking for matching TL. Also for the shield tokens I had them do a special order, as I didn't like the red hexagon ones they had. What I had them do was put together a order of these http://www.litko.net/products/Space-Fighter%2C-Shield-Markers-%285%29.html#.Uv-G7_ldXiU without the stands. The stress tokens are great if you can get your hands on some, I would do it.
  13. The question came up in a play session today about asteroid placement, and what was our strategy when we place them. I thought I would toss it out here and see what ideas and thought are behind where you guys/gals place asteroids. Thanks
  14. Also my comment about spending more comes from the view that as a LCG player I don't support my local game shop with purchases near as much as the Magic and other CCG gamers do. So I think with the draft system it's great to have a option to support my local shop. Also playing from a random card pool will ( or should) help me be a better player. When you play with the same group, you just end up playing to beat the local meta and not expanded from that.
  15. It looks really exciting, and I'm looking forward to being forced to use cards I might not normally use. Also this will be nice for the local game shop. I'm sure they would welcome another form of revenue from the LCG card playing group then the a once a month Data pack.
