  1. Yes it was - only takes 5 hours by road or 1 by plane
  2. Casual play - everything is still awesome Competitive play - frustrating to have to catch up with the meta if you're a staunch Empire player like myself. Feels like everything went to heck after JM5k.
  3. Ahhhhhhhh I see Thanks! My hero-player was drowning in a host of afflictions before the mission even started - something must've gone wrong!
  4. Hi forum veterans! I just started Descent and the tracker is a godsend. I'm trying to use the travel function but I'm a little lost, I need some help using it In the Heirs of Blood campaign, when travelling between Siege of Skytower and The Baron Returns, the back map of the campaign booklet shows the path as: Mountain, Forest, Road, Water, Forest, Flat (6 events). However when looking at the Travel section of the d2etracker, it only shows Road, Water, Forest, Flat. Did I misunderstand the game rules?
  5. Would this 10-15 minutes be part of the official 75 minutes as stipulated in the tournament guide? Or is it separate from 75 minutes actual play time? Imagine 75 minutes play time for 5 round Swiss, I'll be knackered by the end of it!
  6. Hi guys, going through the FAQ on the 75 minute round timing and I'm getting a little confused. Does this include set up (asteroids, ships, smack talk) or is it only when the first turn is called? Shameless plug: There's a Malaysian Nationals going on this weekend! https://www.facebook.com/events/1062062973806110/ Thanks guys
  7. How would a Phantom list deal with a Fel/Vader/Palpatine shuttle?
  8. Yeah that's the magnificence of Whisper! If you kill of the opponent Ace or Turret, it's all downhill for him. That said, the hard counter is pretty easy - just out-PS him. So I guess in a way this a way of expressing your meta-view. If you expect very few low-PS go Whisper. Judging from the Nova lists, I'm surprised at the prevalence of Phantoms - need to do more thinking about it.
  9. You probably don't want to approach them head on and also before other of your ships are also in range. Have the Phantom run along the edge out of range and approach the TLT from the sides or behind after you have slow rolled some of your other ships head on. The best timing to zoom in with the phantom is when they will have to turn eventually to avoid asteroids or your other ships. I'm favouring a 3-ship build now: Fel PTL RGP Targeting Computer AT Whisper VI FCS ACD Recon Spec Colzet Title Autocorrector I have issues trying to close into range fast, might be just out of practice The reason for this style of build is that...I like Phantoms Fel is there to help with turret builds (performing very well) Colzet because I can't think of a better way to spend 23 points Wouldn't Colzet synergize better with FCD instead of Autocorrector? It's a mixed bag, FCS lets Colzet take an evade but gives you a free TL. AutoC allows him (?) to deal sligtly more damage and but has to spend his action on TL. Funny thing, my opponent drew the crit that lowers his attack value and Colzet turned one of his face up cards to that same crit. I kept doing it over the course of the game even after he flipped it down and Han dealt next to no damage.
  10. I've been fiddling with something similar, only with Epsilon Leader in the Colzet slot as Rebel Captive insurance. Although I've got a nagging feeling that having a TIE/FO as the 3rd member of the squad means that Whisper kind of has to run FCS rather than Sensor Jammer to keep the damage level up, which isn't ideal against TLTs. TFA isn't valid for the upcoming Malaysian Nationals, sadly.
  11. Ahhhh that is a fantastic point. I played a couple of games against Han, and I had a nagging feeling something was not right. Thanks for the protip.
  12. Nova? As in...Nova Scotia? Sorry I'm quite out of touch!
  13. I like where the meta is now, we've moved away from the dual ships to something a little more diverse. 4 TLT + R2/5/Unhinged seems like a recurring theme though. Also I debate whether I should have RecSpec vs RebCap vs Tactician (for Init bid)
