This may be the boost that VR has been waiting for.
Elite: Dangerous shows that spaceship games work well on VR, but that doesn't have the appeal of Star Wars games.
E:D prefers joysticks and throttles (for lots of people), but SW:S may well favour gamepads. Both work well for VR.

I can’t speak for the other guy, but the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games were the pinnacle of sci-fi dogfighting. The pacing was fantastic. The missions were extraordinarily well-concepted, difficult, and varied. The mission briefings from Dodonna, Ackbar, the Imperial Flight Control Officer, or whoever you happened to be taking orders from were engaging and informative.
Once in the cockpit, your role was often dictated by your ship type, and you’d have different assignments according to what you were flying at the time; an A-Wing might be assigned to do a high speed sensor sweep of an Imperial convoy as it dropped out of hyperspace in waves, which necessitated transferring all your weapon energy to engines (or shields), and quickly acquiring target locks on all the ships you passed while dodging turbolaser fire at top speed. An X-Wing might be assigned to escort duty of a Y-Wing squad while it made torpedo runs on an enemy Interdictor, with the added directive to throw its own torpedoes into the mix whenever it wasn’t actively dogfighting enemy TIEs. Some missions required you to actively work with your wingmen and direct them to attack certain targets. Others put you in positions like, “We’re under attack! This lone Y-Wing is the only ship that isn’t currently dismantled for repairs, go use it to stop as many TIE Bombers from hitting us as you can, while we plot a hyperjump to safety!”
Ships would drop out of hyperspace and throw a few squadrons into battle, then make a couple of quick microjumps to the other side of things a few clicks away, and drop a few more, and while you got distracted by all of that, a Lambda shuttle and a group of StarWings would jump in and make a boarding attack on your flagship.
The game was glorious. The controls were fantastic. Each ship was a joy to fly and felt very different from the others. In the cockpit of a TIE Interceptor, you constantly flew on a knife’s edge, knowing that one full salvo from the linked cannons of an X-Wing, or a split-second slip while juking a concussion missile, and you were toast.
The only games that have remotely approached the masterful approximation of Star Wars fighter combat since those games were Rogue Squadron 1 & 2, and they were pretty decent, but in all, much more arcade-y and just not the same. Everything else, including the fighter combat of the newer Battlefront series (which isn’t bad), has paled by comparison.
I’m interested to see what they can pull off with a new take on SW Fighter combat, but I’d be floored if they gave us something even half as good as the old PC games.

My dream of a return to 1993's Xwing and 1994's Tie Fighter is coming true. Hopefully.

These changes were proposed by the organizers of Stahleck, which used to be the European Championship (before FFG decided to organize an official one) and is still the world's biggest annual tournament (especially for Melee). It even attracts players from Asia and the Americas.

    Both the learn to play (pg26) and rules reference (pg12) books state how many titles are used in a melee;
    Shuffle all 6 titles and remove 1 (OR 2 in a three-player game OR 0 in a six-player game)
So both a four-player and five-player game use the first part of the text and only 1 title is removed.
FYI - it is recommended that in a three-player game that one of the removed titles is always the Crown Regent and that the Support rule is ignored.
Your English is excellent; no need to apologise.

Can you please thank the team responsible for bringing us the AGOT 2nd LCG; all entertainment industries seem to take a lot a flak these days and praise is pretty rare on the Internet.
AGOT continues to be a fun, thought provoking and great looking game which has provided many hours of fun for my friends and I both in Joust and Melee. It took a while for us to understand it (and I still keep learning, mostly by listening to podcasts) but it never ceases to surprise and generate outstanding gaming moments.
Thanks, I hope you all have a great Worlds event!

I am starting to feel the lack of an LCG.  There is a small group of us (3) that do Netrunner.  If there were people doing AGOT nearby I would be tempted to get into that.  I might even consider L5R.  I just hope some new LCG gets launched sometime soon...but I am not optimistic.

We moved onto AGOT from netrunner - it took a few games to get our heads around its differences but I highly recommended it; the intro decks were gold to help people get involved and are worth the low investment to try it out.

I'd just buy the premade faction decks if you're not planning on building a big collection.  They're listed as House Intro Decks below...

Yep. Some agendas will be effectively ignored once the game begins as they alter what cards can be included during deck building (e.g. banner agendas) whilst others might have text that is used throughout the game for actions (e.g. Fealty).

Dice lord reacted to Knetsch in Intro Decks Play Guidance
You can find the contents of the intro decks:
on thronesdb, just seach on "intro" or author "Kakita_Shiro" The author has described each deck a bit And FFG has listed the decklists in the articles . Go to the product page and then to "intro decks" https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/8/23/swear-fealty/ I have not played them but looking at the decklist I think:
the Stark on plays aggro, focusing on military challenge kill with Ice, winter is coming and put to the sword. the Lannister one on Intrigue, with big Cercei, tears and Casterly rock the Greyjoy one seems to focus on pillage (core Euron, big Asha, Tris Botley), with a splice of kill the Tyrell seems to focus on strength buffs and a lot of renown the Night's Watch deck seems to be all about defending the wall the Baratheon deck want to win dominance and do tricks with that. the Martell deck is a bit unfocussed, half icon removal and some "win by losing" effects the Targaryen one focusses on core Dany with her dragons supported by some burn

Dice lord reacted to ChannelDelibird in 3 player melee - recommended changes?
Yes! Three-player melee is vastly, vastly improved by doing the following two things:
Remove the Crown Regent title from the game Ignore supports - anyone can attack anyone else This prevents tables where you don't have any choice about who you can attack, which both is boring and leads to skewed table balance.
That said, playing with four players is always superior when possible!

Not just fan-run, it's the largest AGoT tournament in the world, by quite a margin (more than Worlds and EC combined). And you still remove one of the remaining 5 at random each round.

Yes. The Council of Stahleck (the largest fan-run AGOT tournament in the world) came up with the idea of excluding Crown Regent altogether and ignoring support.

Never fear tho, I'm sure they'll be added to the FFG dice app for the roll adverse players.

Dice lord reacted to Hellfury in New Wiz-War player asks- WHY?!
While I agree it's a shame that Wiz-War is not more popular, it also isn't shocking that it lacks the interest fans believe it should have.
In this day and age, games that have such direct confrontation aren't popular.  This isn't a co-op or multi player solitaire game which typically gets lauded on sites such as BGG.
It requires a bit more from players. It celebrates creativity of players within the design space. You have to know how the design works in order to play the game fluently. You also need to appreciate schadenfreude and a sense of humor at your own expense.
Not a lot of contemporary games are like that, and not a lot of gamers enjoy this.
Games like Survive! even struggle for popularity, and it requires far less from participants.
It takes a particular brand of consumer as well. CCG players have an easier time acclimating since they are accustomed to using creativity within a design space to accomplish their goals. But even then, the first couple game are rough as you internalize the cards and the potential they offer.
It's a lot more daunting for non CCG players.
That's makes this a niche game within a niche market.
But, FFG were confident enough in it to not only aquire the license from Chessex before it expired, but to produce 2 more expansions for the game.
But it will be a shame for others, who much like you, found out that the game is quite good, only to find it out of print. All because more people didn't buy it enough and FFG decided to let it go out of production due to it not being as popular as Star Wars.

[Edit] As for FFG's lack of promotion, this has long been an issue with FFG. They feed into what is already popular, not what needs help to become popular.
All it takes is an occasional article posted on their site promoting older and/or less popular titles to possibly increase sales for an item.
But they haven't done that as long as I recall. They promote only upon new release and then move on to the next thing thrown against the wall to see if it sticks without any help. It's frustrating, but that's how they seem to market stuff.

The revised core is a much more balanced "out of box" game than the original core, so if you can get one and want it as a boxed game by itself, I'd say go for it.

I will play kitchen table with mostly unusual / quirky decks. There is no "abusive" meta in my house, and if a card starts to be annoying and unfun, it will go on our own personal ban list. This is why such kind of game is nice, you can tailor it however you like
