Newbie to get buying (bet you never heard that before :)
Moore1980 replied to mr.thomasschmidt's topic in X-Wing
Typically, it goes like this Core sets x2 (Extra dice, damage deck, ect, ect) X-wing expansion (Pilots, and upgrade cards) Tie Fighter expansion (Pilots) Tie advanced expansion (Vader) Y-wing expansion Then when your cash catches up with you. Falcon expansion Slave One expansion Tie Interceptor expansion x2 A-wing expansion Now in Wave 2 you'll find things you like and you may pick up more than one expansion, like A-wings. Some love them and have say 2 or 3 it all depends on your taste and playstyle. And again, once your wallet takes a breath Wave 3 I can't answer this properly, since wave 3 is "on the boat" and not in retail as of yet. But, you can assume that once it goes viral, it's going to be like blood in the water.. a feeding frenzy! -
LOL... Hollywood
-
So? It'll have green lines. But there are those perfectionist's out there
-
Why not just use the generic Bounty hunter base chit, and just field it for Rebs? It's not like Merc's and Bounty hunters were Imperial exclusive.
-
My vote is 4 and PTL Nothing like boosting, PTL, and BR ing, or Boosting again
-
Yeah. FFG had a limited release of Wave three at Gen-con. While Regular retail sale is not for another three to six weeks. I really wish I had sent money with a Guy I know that went to Gen-con... : /

Yeah, I Posted on the X-wing Miniature facebook page When I learned about the Lambda Shuttle. " I finally get to field an "Imperial" Medium based ship. I never consider Boba, or any of the BH pilots, that I field to be affiliated with the Empire as Imperial. More like, guns for hire.

So id Biggs, Garven, and Dutch. But these guys are the OG starpilots. I think they get a pass. What I meant was there are including him in a scenario set for the hoth escape. But he was dead at that time The only pilot I can recall besides Wedge and his badassery that took part in the Hoth evacuation was Derik "hobbie" Kelivan (spelling)

Can't go wrong with Interceptors.. they are Pro if flown correctly.
-
Y-wings as well are elusive.
-
Np, Man.. Yeah, it's a little disappointing, but hey it's a new scenario.

http://teamcovenant.com/vorpalsword/2013/08/16/quick-gencon-update/ So What’s Up With Wave 3? Not much to add to the spoilers found elsewhere, but since Rekkon has asked and others are curious, I’ll talk a bit about the mission included in the Lambda rules insert. It’s called “Undeniable Assets”, and it’s set up for a 100-point Rebel list and a 120-point Imperial list. The idea is that the Rebellion has disabled a convoy, and the Empire is scrambling fighters to rescue the passengers. You set up three Disabled Ship tokens, which are (of course) included in the Lambda box, and start play. The Empire wins by rescuing 5 passengers and rushing them off the map; the Rebellion wins by capturing 6 passengers. Passengers are rescued from a Disabled Ship using an action while at Range 1 of a disabled ship. Unfortunately, it’s apparently difficult to do, because for each passenger you rescue you take damage. Possibly lots of damage, although the Lambda (and only the Lambda) can avoid it entirely. The Rebellion can capture passengers by critting the disabled ships (one per crit), which have 3 Agility and infinite hit points… or they can just wait for the Empire to do it and then kill the Imperial ship to capture all of its passengers. There ya go Storm :

I usually just Dry brush the Reb ships, to give them that "Dirty" cause were rebels look. I also hit the engine's cause they don't look right out of the box. Plus I hit the inside of the engine with some paint to give then that "fire-up" engine look.

I know someone that I play the game with that went to GenCon.. If was thinking.. I would have flooded him with coin to have him bring me back some prizes and suprises. Lol,
-
Well, atleast all our posts provided some slightly different info, lol.
-
Yeah, one did. I forget what it's called, but yes. There is a new scenario.
-
LOL, damnit.. I write a big post.. and someone has already posted almost exactly what I'v written....

Tournaments are usually 100 point battles. Its not that the Falcon is bad or good. It's that some people use it so well and others not so much.. Larger ships tend to get bumped (touch other ships) or fly into asteroids. And yet others have balls of steel and roll with a two Falcon/Slave One 100 point list, it's all a matter of personal taste. For your personal forces, keep 2 starter(Core) sets. 4 Tie Fighters and the 2 X-wings are gold, and as stated previously cheaper than buying them separately. Not to mention the extra dice, damage deck, move templates. and upgrade cards. Typical Rebel lists will either be three really good named pilots, or one or two named pilots and a couple Rookie x-wings/Gold squadron Y-wings.. ect, ect. The later is more popular in most cases because More Rebel ships equals more firepower on the board to combat those Swarms. Imperials usually run what Most would call "Tie Swarm" which simply put is a list of mostly really cheap 12 point Tie Fighters, mixing a couple of the Named Ties in like "Howlrunner, or Mithil. Usually numbering around 6-8 ties. That once all lined up and concentrated can rain some serious laser fire down on the enemy. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, with Large ships like the Falcon and Slave One.. it can get really interesting quickly. Hope this helps, man. Welcome to the most addictive game your wallet will ever meet. May the Force be with you, always.

Imagine wave 4 now... and trying to K-turn... K-turn right off the board, LOL.
-
Go to Youtube, and click on team covs page.. they are on it.
-
Yup, what Parakitor said. I do visit both sites, because there are different topics on each board, including after action reports. Which I like to read.
-
Ok, so team covenant revealed wave 3 unboxing vids.. Lambda Shuttle ... Yes, must have. Tie Bomber... Yes Please.. B-WIng.. alright, could be useful. HWK-290 Hum, with the upgrade cards that come with it.. actually can be pretty badass for only having 4 hull 1 shield, and 1 attack dice. Now to wait for the mad dash to get some of wave 3 at retail release.
-
Yeah... we sorta mixed bag our thoughts on that vid in another post the day it came out. But I feel ya.. I too cringed with their mistakes.
