Well thanks for all the replies gents. First, yes there is a gaming store in my town. It's called New Game In Town. Yes, they do sell some X-wing items . I'v purchased a few and some other people have. So, that leads me to believe that there is others in the town that play. Second, to answer that what town I'm in question. I'm in De Kalb, about 60 miles west of Chicago.. and nearly 3 hours north of Peoria. I have also been giving some thought to "demoing" as it were at the shop just in the hopes to increase the potential player base.

So, some months ago I posted an "anyone from Northern Illinois" tread in the organized play thread. I got literally zero hits. But, while looking at the other thread posts on this site and that of Board Game Geek, it almost seems as though Illinois isn't even on the map. Not that I don't enjoy chatting and discussing the game with you all, but that doesn't really help me get any games in.

In terms of war application, I would compare the Firespray more to the Junkers JU-87 "Stuka" Dive Bomber than a fighter

Lot of love for those Rebels. I fancy myself an Imperial player primarily. Seems the Rebs love shooting at their own people these days.

Can we see a pic of it on its peg/base, I'm curious if the wings make contact with the table surface fully extended.

And let's not forget.. GW products are stupid expensive...

lol, sorry. I didn't see the last bit of your post.

Well, running 5 Tie/In's you could give 3 of them stealth device taking you to 99 points. Giving you a better shot at initiative.
-
Yeah, Interceptors are where it's at. I have 3.. and I almost always Run a 3 Tie/In list. They can be a bit pricey, but if you take advantage of their insane ability to move around, and a lot of times avoid fire arcs with boost, and or barrel roll. Well, let's just say that Tie/Ln's took a huge back seat for me.
-
Though honestly, all you need is 1 Interceptor to reach 100 points for the Imps. So, if and when you do pick up an Interceptor. You could run something like this: Vader (29) Concussion missile (4) Engine Upgrade (4) Turr Phennir (25) Veteran Instincts(1) Stealth Device (3) Howlrunner (18) Swarm Tactics (2) Black Squadron Pilot (14) Total:100 Points The Idea is to keep Turr and Vader together, since they have with Vader's engine upgrade boost actions, and the Tie/LN's together With Howlrunner handing off Swarm. so all your ships will be shooting before most rebs.

Pick up a couple Interceptors, and let Colonel Fel show the Dark Lord how to own the Rebels.

lol, I was expecting something B-17 related in this post.

Seconded!

You can still shoot, unless your ship is touching another ship, then you cant target the ship your touching. But, if there is another ship that you are not touching within range of your attack you can attack that ship, you just can't take any actions like focus, or barrel roll, ect, ect.

It's funny Garvin has no EPS slot.. He was the Red Squadron "Leader" at the Yavin 4..

**** that sounds awesome, hopefully I can par-take. I wish the Local Game store in De Kalb would run something like this. -
From miniatures to bigatures - capital ships and X-Wing Bigatures.

"Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral. I want that ship, not excuses". -Vader -
NONSENSE!

I'm 99% sure Star Destroyer will be the Imp capital ship.
Moore1980 replied to Thunder_Chicken's topic in X-Wing
I bet we see a Victory class Star Destroyer before an Imperial Class, Vic Class's were half the size of Imp class. -
B-Wings for that Death Star II run

"Superior" is purely subjective. Where the Sherman had slightly thicker armor, the T-34 had a lower profile and better sloping. It was also one of the most mobile tanks of the war, able to maneuver through terrain that other tanks could not. That's a pretty significant parallel, I think. But we're not simply talking about the quality of the vehicle, we're talking about production factors. The T-34 was far and away the most produced tank of the war, and apparently the second most produced tank of all time. Yeah, I'd say it's a better analogue of the TIE fighter than the Sherman. When the Sherman was deployed to Africa in 1942 it was superior to the German Panzer III and early Panzer Iv's In terms of the T-34 being better than the Sherman. The T-34 had a better gun at first a 76.2 mm HV gun, where the Sherman had only a 75 MM. Later Sherman models Like the M4A3 for example, which had "Sloped" frontal armor basically Made it superior to the T-34. But also, by the time the Sherman M4A3 can into production the Russians had more or less stopped upgrading the T-34 Line. They went to a newer model all together the T-34-85.

35,000 T-34 tanks were manufactured from may 1940-may 1945 roughly between 49,000 -55,000 Sherman's were built, with a large number of those tanks being given to Russia, and the U.K. for Lend-Lease.
