  1. I'm not going to add to this...nothing more can be added that someone hasn't already mentioned.
  2. As an Imperial Veteran that only builds "Squint" lists Welcome the squadron, pilot! With that said What you currently have is all you'll need really to fly the best Interceptor pilots available. Soontir, Turr, and the third is a toss up to personal choice of either IMO Carnor, or Tetran. It's a good thing your buddy picked up the S&V StarViper. Because since it's release it provided the "Squint" with a piece of equipment that can not be left at home, and that is the Auto-thruster card. In the past the Interceptor had the "glass cannon" tag applied to it, and trust me it was very fragile. It was tough to run interceptors effectively, turrets would just own them, and having no shields... well, a well placed X-wing/B-wing shot, or close ranged A-wing hit and you are done. I'll tell you now, do not look at the green dice to save you. They will fail you. The Interceptor is one of those ships with a brief learning curve, but once you master it and are dodging firing arcs like nobody's business you will quickly realize that the Interceptor is probably one of if not the best Imperial air superiority fighter. Boost and barrel roll then add autothrusters for added range 3 and or turret protection, and suddenly you are a feared player. Add the elite talent of "push the limit" and you'll quickly see that it wont be easy for those Rebels to take you out.
  3. There is only a couple "WTF" moments in my local meta. One guy had both his VSD's and Gladiators where the flight stand goes into the model not glued in. applied some glue and he's good to go, but it was a bit disappointing knowing FFG's quality control. And another guy had one of his y-wings wings break off.
  4. let's not forget about Soontir.. pari him with a tie advanced or two and he's doing a damage to every squadron that shots his way, but not at him.
  5. It would appear that Lord Vader has already accepted the apology of another officer, and I have been allowed to return to my command. However, I will be reporting this "Darthfish" transmission to ISB so they can isolate this brazen hijacking of encrypted Imperial military channels. And arrest this Rebel.
  6. After receiving orders from high command to pursue and destroy the rebel scum, task force forty-seven intercepted the rebels near Yaga Minor. Task force consisted of VSD: Warlord VSD: Dominator and a third VSD who's transponder was malfunctioning, so I could not Identify it nor it's commanding officer. (Reminder to report said officer to high command for improper ship maintenance). GSD: Demolisher GSD:123 and GSD 034. Plus combined fighter support forces in total: ten Interceptor squadrons Including Colonel Soontir Fel, five Tie squadrons, six if you count "call-sign Howlrunner", three Advanced Tie squads Including Lord Vader himself. Major Rhymer, with four other Bomb squadrons in support. Once the task force hypered into the system Comscan detected one particular rebel ship to be transmitting encrypted rebel command codes. The ship was one of the rebels Assault class frigates. Governor Tarkin who arrived just before the task force jumped to chase the rebels assumed command and ordered that the task force attempt to destroy that particular ship. Rebel forces consisted of two assault frigates, the one mentioned earlier serving as the command ship of the enemy fleet. five nebulon-b frigates, and two corellian corvettes. Plus the rebels also had fielded several fighter forces in the following formations: eleven X-wing squadrons, two Y-wing sqauds, four B-wing sqauds, and three A-wing sqauds. Several known rebel pilots were identified during the course of the battle. Those pilots were: Wedge Antilles, Dutch Vander, Tyco Celichu and Luke Skywalker. (Recommend high command expand the Imperial garrison on Corellia, since it seems this is the second "Antilles" to come across Imperial database's as a rebel, or sympathizer). The battle ran into difficulties almost immediately, half of our fleet arrived in system on the far right flank of the battle this portion was GSD: 123, GSD: 034 and VSD: "Unidentified" While the entirety of the rebel fleet arrived concentrated together. GSD: Demolisher moved up on Governor Tarkin's orders and began to engage rebel ships, as did the Warlord. Dominator was moving up but at a slower speed to act as a reserve to not allow any rebel ships to escape, should they get past our main force. Comscan at that time informed me that Lord Vader was making short work of the enemy fighter forces near him and colonel Fel, but our fighter groups engaged with rebel fighters near their command ship were taking heavy losses. It was as this time the battle turned for the worse, up to this point we were delivering punishing damage to rebel ships even managing to destroy one of their nebulon-b's. Plus seriously damaging their none command assault frigate, but under continuous concentrated fire from rebel ships GSD Demolisher was lost with all hands. It wasn't too long after that our command ship the Dominator was also lost to punishing rebel concentrated fighter/bomber and ship fire. At this point Governor Tarkin ordered the fleet to withdraw Warlord continued to hold the enemy forces at bay long enough to recover all our remaining fighters before making the jump to hyperspace. I shall be prepping a shuttle and report to Lord Vader and apologize personally. (Note for my executive officer, Once you are settled in the captain's quarters, I have left a list of those officers and crew to receive disciplinary actions for their failures in today's action). <END REPORT>
  7. Assault Frigate with that title is a little op.
  8. Or the fact that all expanded universe outside the six soon to be seven films, clone wars( animated series) and SW: Rebels is no longer Disney approved cannon.
  9. Welcome to Armada. You have just taken your first step into a larger world. May the Force be with you!
  10. Same here, though I didn't color each squad differently.
  11. You HAVE to take a commander, so Imperials are forced to take Tarkin right now. Meaning if you take both Tarkin and Yaluran, you can be pretty flexible turn one, you can take whatever token since there will be no shooting. Turn one I usually take Nav token for reducing or increasing speed when needed. Turn two I take either con-fire, or a repair depending on how aggressive Reb ships are pushing into me. As for my Tie's I will hold them back as long as possible, waiting either to catch a couple X-wings not with their pack and swarm them, then take a squadron token to move and shoot. Or wait for Luke to appear and then all of my ties are in Luke's face, either keeping him "engaged" or killing him. That black through shields is to monster to ignore, regular X-wings you can bounce around on your shields and there not all that scary only chucking one red dice. Something else I found to work is allow the corvette to think it's flanking action will work, then use that Nav token to reduce or increase speed, while it's still one turn out from completing it's flanking attempt. It will probably be right in the crosshairs of at the very least your front arc, maybe even the side arc allowing to put a lot of hurt on it, or destroy it outright. But every game experience is different, and different people tend to run different strategy's.
  12. Fel+Push the limit+Royal tie title+Shield upgrade+ Autothrusters
  13. I play Firestorm Armada, Terran Alliance fleet. I think it's fun, but the exploding six does dorta ruin it at times. FSA feels more strategic to me vs Armada. Armada is all about ok there are the Rebs/Imps point and shoot, some strategy involved but not a lot. Where FSA you need to use that terrain, you need to think out your deployment and lanes of attack. I don't know, everyone has their own opinion about it, you either love it or hate it. If you like Halo, then buy the game when it comes out. If not, then don't.
  14. Me personally, I have lost interest in X-wing. I'm a strictly Imperial player and with every new wave it seems that before Scum came Rebels were getting better and better ships and or pilot abilities. Where as the Empire gets average pilot abilities or really over costed ships.. I.E. Tie Defender/Phantom. Hell, they even nerfed the Phantom some so the Empire doesn't even have that to lean on so much now. I do believe the Raider's Tie Advanced upgrades will bring that more under control, but my opinion is that Rebels will always get better and the Empire will always fall short. Scum is in the middle ground, of taking things from both sides plus like so many others, I too was always more into the capital ship scene. After Jedi lightsaber fights cap ship scenes are is what defines Star Wars, again only my opinion. I can also see people being turned away because of the pricing of armada, but several folks have already hit the point. In Armada you'll only be fielding 2 cap ships, 3 tops, so you only need the core set, and one expansion to get the full feel of the game. With X-wing you need to possibly buy 2-4 copies of one ship for your fleet. adding those expansions up is easily the cost of an Armada expansion not to mention how many people bought more than one X-wing core set? I'm not even going into the cost of X-wings Epic ships, but you see where X-wing is also as expensive to Armada, so I do feel that Armada like X-wing will slowly gain steam until it to is a powerhouse.. Not that it isn't already, In my neck of the woods it has a very strong following.
  15. Played a game tonight, I was having my way with the capital ships. Got both down to a single hit point by turn 3, and vaped the Neb on turn 4... However, My over aggressive nature took over and I left Luke to his own devices. Luke backed up by Dodanna decided that ramming crit/hit combo black dice results down my throat would be fun and giving me two 2 damage crits plus regular hits, because I was 'Dominator"ing the hell out of my VSD for extra die leaving my shields all but gone.. vaped my VSD before I could rock the corvette and secure victory. Lesson learned.. ALL tie fighters in Luke's face till he's dead.

  17. Squints legends: Fel (27) Push the Limit (3) Autothrusters (2) Tie title (0) Stealth device (3) Carnor Jax (26) Push the limit (3) Autothrusters (2) tie title (0) Stealth device (3) Turr Phennir (25) Veteran Instincts (1) Autothrusters (2) tie title (0) Stealth device (3) total 100pts. Fel and carnor PTL for defensive turtling or added arc dodging. In Carnor's case, since he's going to want to be in range one of things focus evade mostly. As for Turr, VI for PS 9 (shooting first in most cases) then either boosting or barrol rolling out of return fire arcs.
  18. I'v been playing Firestorm armada. (table top game)
  19. Starviper,, Since all I wanted it for was the Autothrusters cards. LOL.
  20. Two possible Squint list idea's here. Fel (27) Push the limit (3) autothrusters (2) shield upgrade (4) Title (0) (36points) Turr (25) Vetern instincts (1) autothrusters (2) shield upgrade (4) Title (0) (32 points) Tet Cowall (24) V.I. (1) autothrusters (2) shield upgrade (4) title (0) (31 points) shields eat a crit or first damage you take. autothrusters... well do what they do.pilot skill 9 for all ships, you should be shooting mostly first. Unless you run into V.I.ed up Phantoms. The second variant is this exact list but dropping v. I. on Turr and tet, and dropping all the shield upgrades and having all three with push the limit, autothrusters, titles and stealth devices. the first list is 99 pts the second is 100.
  21. As an Imperial Squint pilot I will admit I picked up the Viper for autothrusters, but that is not the only card in the pack that is useful for the Imperial Navy. Accuracy Corrector is also quite useful. Since I am not that thrilled with S&V ... " bounty hunters, we don't need their scum" I will only be picking up one more ship, which happens to be the S&V Interceptor for the Mangler cannon for my Tie Defenders.
  22. What am I doing with M3-A Interceptors? Well that's easy, I'm shooting them down with my Imperial TIE INTERCEPTORS!
