  1. I think just jumping to a fresh time period would be the way to go.  Past or future.

    I strongly think they need to go back. Current time line has a lot of outside influence. Reboot of the game should focus on the emerald empire not the expanded world with all the desert peoples and what not. Game needs to focus on Samurai and Ninja not burning sands and what not.

    This is exactly why we need to go back to the early days, clan wars or earlier. The lore for the original was so well thought out. Down the road had a much more tacked on feel to keep it going. The game started with emp death and bad guy came back to take revenge from the start. Being as that was rehashed many times with the blood speakers and the spirits returning we might as well go back to square 1.


  3. Im not sure they are going to pick up where they left off either. That intro is talking about where l5r comes from.

     

    That being said a reboot from the original clan war era would be awesome. I have followed it for years and the old stuff by Ree was by far the best.

     

    Starting it from clan wars and putting new changes based on fans would be awesome. Could end up with 1000 years of darkness being main storyline.


  4. IMHO L5R is all about story. I know FF can make a set of game rules and have them work well. If they do nothing more with story involvement then a kit with a few promos and once a year one player helps make a card like the other CCG I don't think this will really be L5R at all. Players driving where the story goes is so very important for the world. I hope they take a very long hard look in to what made L5R such a great game that lasted 20 years in the first place.

     

    That being said I hope they go old school and let us do time of the original 7 thunders.


  5. I started this before any of the other treads actualy. It was a post i had to have aproved before it would go up. I agree however its not needed and can be closed.


  6. Main issue I see is buying mutiple of the ship and playing with them does not even solve the problem unless you buy a ton of them just for the tokens. I get 2 ships and I could still want to put out 3 mines. This could be a big issue if that card reads that each token is left on the table on its own and people dont hit the middle one. After a while its entirely possable with a full punisher squad with you could end up with all 4 center tokens out on table and not be able to put out a 5th. Normaly I have no issue with how they pack for the most part. I buy mutiple of every ship to date. This one buying 3 or even 4 does not realy resolve the issue fully. I dont think asking them to put 2 copys of a mine that stays out on the table is asking 2 much.


  7. Mutiple ya but realy you need 2 per ship to use the cards. You would have to buy 2x as many as you can use to be able to be sure you can play them all when needed in tournament as made. I buy at least 2 of every ship myself but this will end up being an issue untill at least another wave prints more of the cluster tokens for most players who dont buy like 4 or more.
