  1. Personally (speaking from my years of watching people come and go from more than 7 LCG's), if this is all took for you to quit the game, you would have quit the game before the first year was over. I have been playing enough of these games for long enough now to spot "casual interest". There is nothing wrong with casual interest for a game, but don't pretend otherwise. The nature of LCG's will eventually drive away everybody that can't deal with a lifestyle game in the long run. All that this announcement did was accelerate that process. This announcement is good for the game and makes sense. For the competitive players, it's great! For the casual players (aka, kitchen table players) it makes no difference; just buy what you want, whenever you want to.

  9. I gotta say, I love this game, but these objective set rules are starting to point to some very sloppy play testing. It's not like these sets came out along time from each other, it was consecutive packs! It's just disappointing to see this many corrections needed so early in the game. Either way, still love playing the game and will continue too.
  10. Not trying to defend the practice per se (it annoys me sometimes too) but I can say that with the case of Netrunner, the specific reason that they didn't give triplicate of everything was that they wanted people to be able to grab a "color" of runner and corp, slap in all of the neutral or "colorless" cards and immediately play a game. So that case, it makes sense to me from an ease of entry standpoint.
  11. I agree that the asymmetrical makes it even harder to focus on specific factions or deck builds. Because you are collecting for AT LEAST 2 decks, you need to buy a lot of cards to support them. I think it might be a little easier in Conquest, but if you look at AGoT and LotR, you still see a need to buy a lot of cards you don't need. Also, it takes a lot of work to figure out what exactly to buy. I tend to buy everything as it comes out (For Netrunner and SW, and will for 40k) but that also means I definitely need to pick and choose which games I play. Also, there is obviously a need for "catch up" packs or something like it. I know Team Covenant sells their factions packs to try and help with this issue, but I've never done that, so I'm not sure how well it works. I have also come up against the issue with new players at my league night. We sit down and play a game and they grab the core set and ask "What do I need to buy? Everything?" and I have to say, "Well, you probably want at least 2 cores, all of the packs, all of the deluxes....". Their eyes always go wide when I point it all out. Now I do mention that they can go slower and pick and choose, but bottom line, it is daunting.
  12. Hey, Thanks for pointing this out to everybody! New guy here (to the forums and Star Wars LCG) and I wanted to make sure people in the greater Seattle area knew about the FFG League nights that we run every Tuesday night, 6 - 9pm, at the Uncles Game in Bellevue, WA. I organize the league and try to get the word out as much as possible. We focus on competitive games put out by FFG, such as Netrunner, X-Wing, Star Wars, Call of Cthulhu, Diskwars and the upcoming W40K Conquest I'm sure! We typically have about 10-14 people show up to play every week. The group started out as an Android: Netrunner group, but I have been trying to get more of FFG's other offerings going. We have several people playing X-Wing and a handful of us also starting to branch out into Star Wars LCG. I've been really getting into that personally, so I'm trying to reach out to fans in the area and garner interest! So, if you are in the area and want to play, come on by! I'm always there by 5pm, so feel free to come and play a game! (FYI, We also get league kits and try to host regular league tournaments!)
