invictus_1693 got a reaction from crashnburninc in Career Adventure Seeds: The Colonist
This one works for any group with a good Face that can handle themselves in senate situations; I developed this one based on a dramatic interaction of two of my PCs backgrounds (my PC happens to be a Trader with lots of good social skill, not a Politico).  Haven't run it yet, but I'm excited for it come up at some point.

Also, HUGE THANKS to ddbrown30 for heading this up; there are so many good adventure seeds now due to your efforts.  I just ran my first session yesterday and can't wait to run more.

Specialization: Politico (or any social-oriented Face)

The Hook: The PCs get word (by news, family, at a bar, etc) that a planet one of them is connected to is about to change it's citizenship laws to include only landowners; currently, only citizens are under the protection of the planetary army, and the Empire plans to round up the landless people (probably non-human) for slave labor.  It should be a sign of corruption/Imperial intervention that this law will strip people of their citizenship.  This hooks the PCs if they are actively anti-slavery, or if they have friends/family who could become enslaved.

The Meat: Many different ways for the PCs to approach this.  One of the simplest and shortest-reaching ones is to raise money to buy land for their friends/family in need; this should be expensive for some reason (landowner fees, high cost of land, etc), and make it clear that the rest of the people on the planet are still in trouble.

The PCs can get political and team up with a senator on the planet's senate who opposes the bill.  Perhaps a businessman/politician has plans to get rich off of selling the slaves from the region he governs.  This political enemy should have criminal connections that the PCs can exploit; while the PCs' face handles the Senate (the senator is attacked or gets sick and the Face needs to step in for him, as he is the best choice due to his convictions), the other characters can search the local underworld for clues and connections.  Lots of places for Enforcers, Slicers, and Theives to get involved here.

When the bill comes up in court, the Face should have some resources and evidence to use against the Political Enemy that his buddies (other PCs) got for him in their efforts, gaining boost die/decreasing the difficulty of checks for different points he brings up, especially if he's able to cast a bad light on the Political Enemy with some evidence.  To simulate the winning over of Senators, you could build a light side/dark side pool of destiny points to represent the swaying over of lawmakers; it should start about 1/3 anti-slavery, 2/3 pro-slavery to represent the pressure the Empire is putting on them to make this happen.

The End: The Senate opposes the Empire-backed bill and it fails, saving the poor from slavery and rallying the planet's leaders against the Empire.  This could result in some Imperial obligation, as the PCs (especially the face) just set precedent and dealt a political blow to them.  The Rebellion could become interest in their services elsewhere, and they could obtain some powerful friends on the planet.  The Political Enemy could become a recurring Nemesis.

    Yep, that's correct.

Also, is your GM stuck in the mindset that his BBEG/major enemies must all be fighters?  I would structure things so that you have plenty of underlings to destroy, but the Boss-man/woman is elusive, resourceful and tough to actually get to.

invictus_1693 got a reaction from Vestij Jai Galaar in Bounty List
    Here's what I do -

I already keep a list of Nemesis-level NPCs, totally statted out and with backstory, so that I can pull them out and tweak them if I need a fully fleshed out character for the party to interact with.  What I have started putting on this list are "bounty options"; each of these Nemesi (Nemisises? Nemesissys?) have a bounty amount, who would want them turned in, and details about where they would hide or escape/fight tactics they would employ.

The number you have ready for the party to pursue should depend on how comfortable you are as a GM improving.  If you have a strong improv game, give them a list of 3-5 bounties when they go looking for one.  If not, just have one or two that are really fleshed out that you feel confident running.  Much better to limit their options a little if that means you can function better.

Page 157 EoTE.  Under Stun Damage (Passive).  Stun (Active) is right next to it.  Stun (Active) requires 2 advantage to activate and inflicts strain equal to the value in the profile, Stun 8 for example, not reduced by soak.  If the profile says stun damage or stun setting then the strain damage is still reduced by soak.  There are not very many Stun (Active) weapons because it is very powerful, can only think of 3 maybe 4 weapons in all the books.

You're the GM, the players have to respect the rules and limits you set.  If they don't have the respect to follow those rules, you don't need to game with those players.  A player telling me "to chill, it's all good" when I ask he/she to respect my rules does not deserve to be there.  I would reiterate the rules at the next session and if they choose to ignore you and continue their antics, end the session and kindly ask them to leave (if you're hosting).

I don't think they care what you think or they'd abide by your table rules. I have no magic words to spawn maturity so it may be ultimatum time imo.

I'm with you here.  One of my favorite things is how the dice end up doing all the combat variables in one roll - Hit if you succeed, more success add more damage, and you can crit/get creative with the advantages and triumphs, all with just one roll of the dice instead of multiple instances (like D&D/Pathfinder/13th Age).  That being said, we do roll a lot of dice at once to resolve that, and have to do a lot of mental math to figure out the result.

Send some bothans into FFG headquarters. Many will die, but they may succeed in getting you the info that they don't release to the public.
Or, and this is a rather radical measure, be patient. The bounty hunter book will come. In the future. I have foreseen it.

invictus_1693 reacted to awayputurwpn in PC Starting with a droid mount
Since Basilisks are droids, I would actually tend more towards treating it as a "beast" instead of a vehicle. This is primarily because I'd like to see them have actual WT and ST, and characteristics, and whoever heard of a vehicle with a melee weapon?

Instead of Survival to ride though, perhaps Pilot or Computers to control the droid. Or heck even something like Knowledge (Warfare).

I have given this matter copious amounts of thought, well over 45 seconds, which is certainly enough to sort through the myriad complications.

... or more reliable. I think there are times a GM can legitimately say that something can't be done under the present circumstances. Having the talent gives the player more "push" in making it happen anyway.

This is how I run it.  Examples:

The party was without their mechanic for the session.  They needed to somehow rid an abandoned escape pod of the swarm of dangerous bugs, so they took specific pieces of equipment they had (some vacuum-sealing plastic, matches, etc) and made a temporary smoke bomb.  They subtracted the necessary stuff from their inventories, made a pretty difficult check, and succeeded.

When the mechanic rolls contraption, we wait until we see if he succeeds, THEN we say "how did you do it?" and he doesn't need to remove anything from his inventory.

There are quite a few, like the entrepreneur and his extra 100cr per session, or Know Somebody.  In the old days this would have bugged me, because I'd have expected credits and income and social contacts and all that micro-management to be part of the game play.

However, I have unlearned what I have learned  These Talents allow you to dispense with all that micro-management and get on with the story, and I'm finding these Talents more useful for that purpose.

In general, it's very much worth it to scan through all the Talents, pick out those that seem "unnecessary" at first glance, and try to discern the intent and how it can be leveraged to move the story forward.  It also means thinking about situations where a character might want to do something similar without the talent, and how it might take them longer, or require better equipment, etc.
