And to explain the thought of multiple batteries...
The max size I can fit under a base is a 1000mAh 3.7V drone battery.  There are 13 engines, so 13 red LEDs.  Each one pulls 20mA, so they will pull a total of 260mA.  Which means if there are no other lights, the battery will last 4 hours powering the engines.  Not bad, but I don't know how many LEDs I'm going to have for the fiber optics.  My preliminary estimate is around 10 LEDs to power the fiber optics.  Which means that the largest single battery will only last for just over 2 hours - not even a full game.  That's unacceptable to me ;).  So what I'm thinking is making two unique circuits, one for the engines, and one for the fiber optics, and having a battery under each base to power those circuits, which should give me more like 4-5 hours of play time on those batteries.
Alternatively, there's more space inside the ship, I could put a larger battery in the ship.  But as I'm looking at how much space there actually is, and forward thinking to how many strands of fiber optics, and wires and LEDs, that space is going to very quickly get used up.  Putting a battery in there is going to be a really tight fit with everything else.

I am proud to announce the release of the Kensei Imperial Assault Tools Suite - software for your Windows PC, to make your Imperial Assault life easier and more enjoyable!
    Imperial Assault Skirmish List Builder
If, like me, you play a lot of skirmish, you probably wish there was a way to make building army lists a lot easier. There are some websites that help a bit (like the excellent Tabletop Admiral) but if - like me! - you're a traditionalist, you'll miss having files that you can keep hold of, and a rich UI that's only possible with a desktop app. Well, all your prayers have been answered!
    More details here!

    Imperial Assault Skirmish List Organizer
Now that lists are so fast and fun to make, you'll probably find you have dozens of them. Even hundreds! But how to keep track of all those lists, and what's in them? Just use the Skirmish List Organizer!
    More details here!

    Imperial Assault Card Editor
Ever wanted to make your own deployment cards? Perhaps so that the "boss fights" in your campaign games feel that little bit more personal, or so you can make a combined card for "fixes" in skirmish, or just because you're creative and want to make your own units? Of course you have - and now you can!
Now supports Command Cards, Agenda Cards, Skirmish Cards, Side Mission Cards, Hero Sheets, Reward/Class Cards, and Equipment Cards too!
    More details here!

    Imperial Assault Card Viewer
Sometimes you just need to be able to see a bunch of cards all at once, side by side. It's not big, it's not clever, but the Card Viewer lets you do exactly that!
    More details here!

And more - coming soon! (Well, soon-ish... maybe)
I have plans for a dice / stats app, a Mission Editor, and a Campaign Tracker, plus a few other ideas bubbling away in the background. But I can't promise when (or even if) they'll arrive. I'll update this thread when they do!
    FAQ
Tell me about all the awesome cool features!
Hey, I know you're excited, but give me a chance! Following posts on this thread will go into more detail.
What OS will I need for these apps?
These are Windows applications only - 7, 8, or 10.
Any chance of making a version for the web / Mac / Linux / MS-DOS / something even more obscure?
    No.
Who made the awesome font with the Imperial Assault symbols?
That was @a1bert, from these very forums, who was kind enough to share it for others to use - thanks! I believe he got it from FFG's PDFs but you'd have to ask him for details.
How can I pay you for your hard work on these awesome tools?
You really don't have to. I built this software for fun.
    But I want to!
Oh, well if you insist. You can send me money via PayPal if you like. Don't feel obliged.
Where can I get these tools?
Just click the link at the top of this post!

Click here for SW:EotE Character Generator - Latest Release

Hi everyone.  Thought I’d let you all know that I’ve been working on a SW:EOTE character generator for the past month.  It is very close to completion; I’m mainly still adding data (some descriptions are not in place yet).  It pretty much allows you to create any character you can possibly create from the Core Rulebook.  It also supports special talents such as Jury Rigged, Dedication, etc., and allows you to add any weapon or armor attachment you want.  I’ve created a four-page character sheet that you can print, based around the design concept from the characters in the Basic Game (which I thought was cleaner than the sheet found in the Core Rulebook).

Future additions will include starships/vehicles, group sheets (including obligation tables), and NPC and encounter group generator.

I've written this in .NET using C#, so it'll be for the Windows platform and will require the .NET 4.0 framework.  The data files are all in XML, so they can be easily modified if you want to add your own piece of equipment, new skills, etc.  I currently do NOT have a data editor in the works, but I may write one if I get enough requests.

I’m including some screen shots here so you can take a look at how the screens are laid out and what the character sheets look like.  I'd appreciate feedback on how the layout could be improved, features I may have missed, requests for new features, organization of the character sheets, etc.  If you have any specific questions concerning how features are implemented, just ask!

Again, I'll be releasing the actual product for testing shortly, so please bear with the screen shots for now.

    Thanks in advance,

1728maxfirepower got a reaction from thereisnotry in Davith Elso
    Hello, all.

I took Davith Elso to the Final 4 of Gencon/North American Championships last year.
    I ran the following list:
Davith Elso Obi-Wan Kenobi Luke Skywalker, Hero of the Rebellion Leia Organa C-3PO R2-D2 Gideon Argus w/ Diplomatic Mission As has been mentioned before, Davith relies on being Hidden and/or Focused to maximize his potential. If you're running him, then his "Vanish" is essential. That card is just amazing when it comes to capturing an objective, or setting Davith up to wreak havoc on your enemy's back line. If I drew this card early, then I would be very aggressive with him, hoping he would draw just enough fire to protect my other figures without dying himself, before I could Vanish when he needed to. I cannot overstate how great that card was, at least in the meta back then. I'm sure it's still really good, especially with so much offensive potential some teams can field.
I used Obi-Wan as the vanguard, slow moving, but hard-hitting and hard to kill. Davith would flank whatever the opponent used to counter Obi-Wan, and hopefully I could outmaneuver them while using the Twins to add significant damage from midrange.
If anyone has any questions for me, I'd be happy to answer them. Without being cocky, I've maybe taken Davith farther than any other in competitive play? I haven't used him in awhile but he was great back then.

Kayn Somos is really fun, and becomes better at higher point value games, when he has more nearby troopers. I won a small Game Night tournament with him right when he came out, but he's obviously not any good now. Kayn Somos would pair perfectly with the E-Web, but that's not a good unit either. Advanced Com System helps, but if a fix assumes taking Somos, that means he can't take another attachment.
He needs another Surge ability, or increase his existing Surges to +2 Damage/Pierce 2.
A points decrease wouldn't hurt either. He should probably be costed similar to Sorin and Terro at 7-8 points.
