    I really wasn't in love with the fighters in this game [aesthetically] but my perspective changed after painting the X-Wings.

    It's a little irritating thematically because it means it's out of place if I ever want to use the Vipers as Zann Consortium craft.

     

    Same here. I'll be painting mine to have more of a generic MandalMotors look.

    It's a discussion forum, and we're discussing. I'm not even remotely irritated with you, and after rereading my post I don't think my writing comes across as annoyed.

    If you want to be done with the discussion, that's okay too. But it's kind of a cop-out to post your opinion publicly and then feel aggrieved just because people--politely, even!--disagree with you.

     

     

    Polite disagreement causes me no grief. I have no quarrel with you, Mister Sword.  

     

    However, the context since my initial post so far is unanimous disagreement, and some of it not at all polite. I am aggrieved by that.

    Wanting/thinking there will be a fourth faction is one thing. Just don't use the faulty logic of the LCG. At best, it may show potential art they might choose to reuse in this game. 

     

    I didn't say I wanted it, and I didn't claim that it's coming. I said I expected it, that's all.

    C'mon, man.  Your post basically called people out with a smug "a bunch of you said _______ would never happen" comments, over and over again.  You can't really be too surprised when folks rise to the bait and engage in spirited conversation.  You got the fight you asked for.

     

     

    The preceding arguments were all based on why this wouldn't work. Historically, FFG makes something work whether we figure it out or not. That's all I was saying there. I also think it's more likely than not we'll have a 4th. I may be wrong. That's fine—I don't care either way.

     

    I definitely wasn't looking for a fight.

    At Wave 1, a bunch of you said they'd never do medium ships. Done (but they were named "large"). You said there'd never be huge ships. Done. You said there'd never be a third faction. Done. 

     

    If FFG's planning it, it doesn't need to make sense to you how they go about it. So it's not a matter of how it would/wouldn't work—it's a matter of whether or not they're doing it.

     

    Given the context, I think there's a precedent already for Smugglers and Spies, considering the LCG's faction model if nothing else. There's a clear delineation between the S&V and S&S factions. I'm willing to bet we'll see this eventually here. 

     

    We have Scum/Imp Fett and Scum/Imp Scarlet now. Who's to say you couldn't have something like Smug/Reb Han and Smug/Reb Dash? Or Smug/Scum Emon?

    The race is on...

     

    I ordered from both CSI and MM on 2/16.

     

    I received shipment notification from CSI on 2/24 with FedEx tracking.

    I received shipment notification from MM on 2/25 with UPS tracking.

     

    CSI Shipment departed Orlando, FL on 2/25 @ 1:03am.

    MM Shipment departed St. Louis, MO on 2/25 @ 10:03pm.

     

     

    CSI shipment is currently in Ohio

    MM Shipment is currently in IL

     

    I am 20 minutes south of Green Bay, WI...so my guess is that MM will be here on Friday and CSI will get here next Monday.

     

    I'm not far from you—a few miles east of La Crosse. Preordered separately, got CSI confirmation first. It's expected on 2/28 but just left Orlando this morning so I wouldn't be surprised if it was Monday. MM delivers tomorrow.

    Through a combination of gift cards and obsessive Amazon watching, I picked up Most Wanted and a StarViper for $15 out of pocket, and have a second Most Wanted plus two Aggressors on order for another $75 in Amazon store credit. Downside is that it'll take at least a week to get here, but I've basically built my Scum fleet for only $15 in real cash. Now it's just a matter of picking up the occasional Scyk here and there at the local FLGS.

    That concludes this episode of "Extreme Couponing: X-Wing Edition."

    Do you do surveys or something for your Amazon gift cards?  I always find the best deals on Amazon.
    Nope. I just get a bunch from friends and family for birthdays and Christmas, then bank the total.

    From there, I just put what I want on a wishlist and watch it like a hawk. S&V had already dropped from a 10% markup over retail to 20% below MSRP in the last 24 hours. I won't be surprised to see a few $20 Aggressors or $25 Most Wanteds by the weekend.

    As of 5:11pm, so is mine. I have my fingers crossed for Friday.

     

     

    I got a tracking number at 5:11pm as well. Scheduled for Friday. I ordered late January.

     

     

     

    Order Status is "Complete Verified," order placed Jan 13th, shipping to Minneapolis.

     

    I assume that means my shipping notification will come shortly.

    my "CoolStuff" pre order shipped...  my MM order has not.. both placed at the same time. I split them up to ovoid "Single points of failure"  both companies are great IMHO never has a problem with either one.. 

     

    I feel like that's just paying for extra shipping...unless you ordered so much from each site that they were both free

     

     

    I did this. Pre-ordered with MM a few weeks ago, then placed an order today with CS. Free shipping for both. :/

    2x GR-75 separated by a thin layer of foam; tokens, bases, stands and epic-only cards in the lower section. Damage cards in tuckboxes beneath the CR-90.

     

    That's an interesting idea for the epics. How much vertical foam are you using there? 4"? I figure the CR-90 requires a minimum of 3", and the GR-75s require 2" each.

     

     

    It's actually just 3". The CR-90 fits perfectly with the engine section being almost exactly 3". No issues there at all. The GR-75 are pretty tight with a 1/4" strip of foam between them, maybe a millimeter or two above the edge, but that's mitigated by the 1/4" topper. You can probably tell I meant to have a GR-75 on each side, but this works out okay for now.

     

    The GR-75 may be 2 inches tall (not sure), but it's not a flat brick, either. If they're facing opposite ways and supported carefully, they fit together just fine.

    Only one CR-90? Slacker :)

     

    I know. I'm not sure how likely it is that I'll get a second. Definitely two Raiders, though.

     

     

    ...you have 18 TIE Fighters...

     

    ...AND 18 Interceptors...

     

    Make no mistake, I'm almost 100 points of everything (some more, some less) and, yes, Epic, but... ****, dude!

     

    And I play solo exclusively, not much for competitive play. It's more of a collector/cinematic thing for me.

     

     

    Sooo your the reason for the shortage...

    Nice set up!

     

    I could admit to being the shortage for the American mini sleeves by FFG, if nothing else. I bought 15 packs a couple of weeks ago. My bad.
