  1. I just want to make sure you don't make the same mistake as others have made in thinking that your existing Z-95s will help your Scum out in anyway. Your Scum faction will consist of 2 Y-wings, 2 Z-95s, 1 StarViper, 1 Firespray-31, 1 HWK-290. One Y-wing will be from your existing collection but both Z-95s will be from Most Wanted. interesting... most likely I'm late for the party (as usual), but Are the Z95 and Ywing rebel dials different from the ones in the Scum MW?
  2. Great! It looks like we share the same opinion for the most part. I'll get MW and the Starviper to get started with S&V, considering that I already have 2 Y-wings, 2 Z95s and 1 HWK290s (yes, sorry Tokyogriz I have a one of those ) and of course 1 Firespray, I think I can have fun with S&V as well as complementing Empire and Rebel squads with the upgrades. I really like the Scyck but definitely seems more like a swarm ship and in a future I would like to buy at least three of them and the IG looks more fun to fly at least in pairs, so that one is also a future purchase Thanks all

    S&V on a budget

Hello hive mind, need your input on this important decision, I have a tight money situation so I'll have enough money to buy only two boxes of the new S&V ships for now and in a few more months the other two, I think I can stretch my money for a big set and a single ship, just as additional info, I have at least one of each of the previous ships, so I'm trying to find the box sets that also include upgrades that I can use with either my rebels or empire collections. I was thinking that I would buy the Most Wanted set and the StarViper, Do you guys think its a good plan? What would you do? Thanks all
  4. nice article man, I like the analysis and comparatives you did; I'm kinda in the same boat, when I started playing X-Wing (about 2 years ago), Marksmanship was one of my favorite cards until I started to get the expansion ships and cards and understood the game a little bit better, now it's just a nice and naive memory
  5. Mine had a finger print as well, and since I'm a detail freak was kinda upset, so my wife suggested to clean it with Windex and just re-apply the wash on that area, to my surprise Windex removed the wash without affecting the paint below, then re-applied the wash, the black one from GW which I can't remember the name now and the finger print problem is gone. Just as a side note, go easy with the Windex, I'm sure if you really damp the model or apply to much pressure the paint will be damaged
  6. wow! I've been playing for almost two years and just now I'm realizing that not all of the missiles/torpedoes cards say "spend your target lock" this is embarrassing
  7. Very good job man, I think I can see some washing on the mini which works very well in combination with the drybrushing, those are your two base techniques and with some practice I'm sure you'll have fun painting. I would say you're ahead of a beginner level now.
  8. I'm sure somebody at FFG is having a blast watching us trying to figure out the cards
  9. that site has an interesting technique for large flat surfaces, thanks for sharing
  10. This is an “epic” one Playing a 2-on-2 epic game, I had the Tantive IV lined up to roll over a group of 3 TIEs that had been dog-fighting a Falcon and a X-Wing, so the X-wing just had to move out of the way and the Falcon had to block the TIEs and leave them in front on the Tantive IV and I told my partner this, I was just itching to plow over the TIEs and then I saw the Falcon moving… my partner underestimate the base size and move too much, he did block the TIEs, but left the Falcon where the Tantive IV was moving and also moved the X-wing to follow; end result, Tantive IV destroyed the Falcon, clip the X-Wing base and destroyed it too and the TIEs were unharmed.
  11. Are you kidding! that's some solid paint job and the small details are superb, thanks for sharing Also, cute padawan, very cool that she enjoys SW along with you
  12. Awesome work man! what do you use as reference for the X-wing markings, just the movies? Sort of. High definition screen captures gotten by other people were used. I also used what was presented in others doing up these fighters in X-wing as well as other toys and models. Another really helpful bit was finding pictures of the actual models they used during A New Hope. (Like here is Luke and Wedge: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=5942 http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=2199 ) that's a great find! thanks for the links
  13. I don't know anything about EU and... I think the prequels are not that bad, I even enjoy them
  14. Awesome work man! what do you use as reference for the X-wing markings, just the movies?
  15. and it is 4 of those cards as well, nice work CC
  16. very interesting, I’ve done this before for the other games I play, but never really put some time to apply it on X-Wing dice, please don’t judge me (too hard) but I just realized that rolling 1 red dice against 1 green, the red has the statistic advantage
  17. absolutely! I have very good memories when I was a kid getting Star Wars toys for Christmas, even now my wife makes sure I get something Star Wars-y every year and X-Wing made things really easy for her
  18. Wow, I just can't believe I missed this post, I've been patiently waiting for FFG to release the Otana, even thinking on making my own and this is just the right inspiration I needed. Great model and paint job
  19. I think the angle of fire is more a representation of how the movement would be in a dogfight situation, what I mean is a pilot doesn’t wait to fire until its target is perfectly line up to his guns, I would think he will pull the trigger in bursts calculating that the target ship will cross or fly into his line of fire
  20. Probably you already know this, but here it goes anyway; you can manipulate where the iPhone focuses, just touch the screen on the area where you want it to focus, I usually take all my minis pics with my iPhone and it has very good camara
  21. hehehe, we're in the same boat buddy, although for me it isn't that bad, just my Lambda and the Hawk haven't experience the thrill of getting too close to asteroids and the inevitable crash I also share your feeling towards the Phantom, it has been flown but just once along with the TIE bomber and the Defender
  22. Congratulations cubanboy!! enjoy your son now, we'll all be here for when you're ready to tell us what is going to be his first ship or roll of dice Welcome to the new padowan
  23. awesome news Cubanboy, hope everything goes well and congratulations! On a side note, this is excatly why I say the X-Wing community is the best, you just can't find all this little awesome details anywhere else
  24. "The Force is strong with this one" Wow, you're an amazing painter, I really like your style, I've tried for long time to learn to paint this worn effect technique and know that is not easy thing to do (at least not for me ), thanks for sharing with us, really enjoying it
  25. We had a great event just a few participants, but this is just a starting point, we're planning to get this X-wing events bigger. Feel free to take a look to our After action report at the link below http://ordo-ineptus.proboards.com/post/36230/thread
