Zaltyre does have a respectable track record and in general I would vouch for his knowledge and his being  nice and friendly person .  In this case I would also agree that he is correct.  I do believe he has made a few bad rule interpretations but I cannot sight any of them right now.   As for him doing playtesting, I either do not know or cannot commend due to an NDA which I may have signed .

I am very sure that you need to pay for the units you produce.  As the OP shows it would be drastically overpowered if not.  In my view it is still strong just being able to produce.  The best way is when at war.  You get a big fight and then invade a planet.  You can then rebuild stuff on the front lines to deal with the inevitable counter attack or even prepare for the next attack

A barghest-mounted goblin archer! It could come in a H&M, and could behave differently based on if you kill the archer or barghest first.

I think that if one keeps a couple things in mind, the scenario makes a lot more sense and offers a degree of hope too.
The Asmodee purchase has affected a lot of how FFG does business. To be blunt, FFG products seem to constantly be in and out of stock marketwide for months at a time. FFG is clearly ordering smaller batches of both new and reprinted products, which is why it might be impossible to find a particular "Hero and Monster Collection" at MSRP this month (thank you, scalpers) but be readily available everywhere next month. I've observed this across their product lines for the past year or so now.
Asmodee, as a company, doesn't seem to 'believe' in updating content as frequently as olde FFG has done in the past. Whereas we might have seen a big box and one or two small boxes a year (depending on the product line), most lines have now trickled down to a single box per year -I couldn't help feeling like MoM's last expansion was kind of a joke, after being spread out so far, only ONE new monster class and ONE new scenario? Ugh.
Lastly, Asmodee has a bit of a reputation for purchasing companies and then culling back to just the main top selling product lines. This is where Descent throws a wrench into the mix. Prior to the app, Descent sales appeared to have been slowing down to crawl. It was enough that many retailers we're beginning to reduce their inventories with pretty frequent discounts on expansions and miniature packs -notably more often than most product lines. After several years and expansions, nobody would have faulted you for saying that the product was winding down.
But then the app happened.
The whole thing was a bit of an experiment, one that FFG had likely been pouring money into long before the buyout, making it difficult for Asmodee to justify cancelling. When you're that close, it would be a waste not to finish it up and see what happens. And when that app launched, it renewed interest in the line. Those of us who had all the expansions were ecstatic about new content for our existing stuff, those who didn't have everything suddenly had reason to want to get the rest of the product line right away. And whether you had just the base game, a couple expansions, or a giant collection, even the paid additional app content seemed worthwhile to most. Descent suddenly turned back into a gold mine.
So what happened? Why stop making content for it?
There's a lead time from development to finalized product. And the most logical guess is that Asmodee pulled any resources that might have been working on physical Descent expansions, to work on other products -new lines like the recent Rune Wars miniatures game, or just existing lines that had previously been selling better than Descent. Management would likely be apprehensive about moving people back to an older product like Descent, likely wanting to see sustained sales, to be sure this wasn't just a brief fluke. Once people get reassigned to make new Descent content, it could be a good year before they're even ready to send things to the printers in China. Factor in quality control, internal testing, etc., and you've got a pretty big gap in time between releases. 
Also, consider that FFG/Asmodee might want to give their newest Terrinoth product the limelight for a 6-12 Month period, so as not to cannibalize their own sales. So if something is nearly done with development, they might be keeping tight-lipped about it so as not to hurt RW sales.
Given the renewed success of D2e since RtL, I do think more expansions will arrive. But I think we may not hear about them until later this year, with release potentially next year.
All of this is of course speculative, but it all makes logical sense.

If you are defeated at any point while it is your turn, your turn ends. You cannot stand up until the next round (another hero could revive you during the same round, but you couldn't take a second turn, as yours has already ended).

Also agree with Zaltyre and Any2cards. 
The rule here is you must first spend any surges required to make it not a miss before anything else.   For an example if you are adjacent to a shadow dragon and roll only one surge but cannot do enough damage to put any hearts on it you must still pay the one surge for shadow before you recover 1 fatigue. 
 
Also you cannot spend any surges unless it is not a miss.  So no using the cross bow 15+ spaces away after it was a miss due to range.
 

I disagree, in that the surge is a requirement for the attack to hit. If the attack misses, no other surges may be spent. Therefore, in order to spend "as many surges as possible", the attack must hit.

I would not read into that too much.  With tripling sales its safe to say that they will make more.  From what they guy said about 100 times, they do not talk about unreleased products.

I feel that one fist would put nanok to shame on the offense category.  Only using a one hander is not that bad of a draw back if you get a bonus die.  Give him iron claws in act2 and he would dominate.  BYYYG!!!  Dragon tooth hammer would also be nice.

Ah their size, yes they are 2x2 now didn't think to check that. Nagas are 2x2, I assume that's the same as before and ferrox are still small.

Sorry  but only able to offer the objective tokens and not hero tokens.  If you need a few more other than the red let me know.  Hero tokens are not hard to improvise.  Also if you like descent and collect more expansions you will get more hero tokens.

So as it is shown you get 3 new skills for a total of 6 skill points.   Then you lose 2 3 point skills which is also 6 points.  So it balances out rather nicely in my mind. 
 
Monk does look really nice.

That does seem really odd.  From what I understand about the industry, its rather costly to make new sculptures.  To make new ones that are only slightly different seems very peculiar to me.  I am sure they had some good reason but its lost on me.
 
In fact this seems like a lost business opportunity.  If they had just made totally new heroes and put in descent hero cards they likely would have gotten some descent players to buy runebound and some runeboune players to buy descent. 

Over the past few days, I have finally taken the time to update all of my document aids that allow me to track my enormous investment in FFG games.  This included updating all of my Descent 2nd Edition documents.

Anyway, part of my effort was matching up all of the proof of purchase tokens with all of the expansions they came with.  Since I have everything for D2e, I wanted to make sure that I had not lost any of my proof of purchase tokens.  While FFG's support is amazing, and while I have never been asked for one of these for any game for which I have submitted an issue, I am a bit OCD when it comes to making sure I have what I am suppose to have.
 
Much to my surprise, when I generated the document titled "Descent 2nd Edition Proof of Purchase", I found that I did not have a proof of purchase token for DJ06 (the current values range from DJ01 to DJ43).
 
After scrambling around, looking high and low, I went through all of my stuff and realized that there wasn't an expansion of any kind with a proof of purchase whose value was DJ06 (you can look at my document to verify this).
 
This got me to thinking.  What was DJ06 suppose to be?  Was it a planned product that never made the light of day?
 
FFG's X-Wing game had something like this.  FFG officially announced a tile set for X-Wing, assigned it a proof of purchase product code, officially announced the product on this web site, and then canceled it and never produced it.  There was a very compelling reason for this which is not important for this discussion.
 
Unlike the product for X-Wing, FFG has never announced anything that has the code of DJ06 (to the best of my knowledge).  Even in their own product pages it does not exist.
 
Care to guess what this was?  Anyone have any insider insight?

I really feel like it's the same deal with Juliden's Keep. It's true, terrify is crippling, and terrify prevents you from winning the quest. There are 3 ways to clear terrify:
 
1) The way on the card
2) Throw the card away with an ability
3) Get KO.
 
1) If you're in a room like the study, getting out of LOS of the dragon gets very tough (but not impossible.) Luckily, she doesn't have shadow, so that's good.
2) Like Ben said
3) As long as you're not the last one to die, this might work.
