  1. Sorry one last thing. While this is an interesting idea, the problem with this is that there are only 2 force users for sith right now, (I say two because the Mara Jade pod is basically unplayable right now in duels.) and it really would make those cards useless. Their only purpose would be as edge battle fodder until late game when you got vader or palp out.
  2. Flipper's got it right. Limiting Sith Holocron to events is a great way to tone down the overpowered Executor pod. I've played with and against this pod more times that I care to count, and its biggest threat potential comes with the early game unit drops. Whether it be a fatty or even something like snowtrooper vanguard, having that resource burst in the sith decks brings out almost impenetrable board control. I could however. care less if they use it to play events. There are two events right now that a Sith player has that maximizes holocron's usefullness; tdoh and force lightning, both of which you can easily see coming and play around. No matter what though it's a huge benefit for the Sith because they get to play a card for fricken FREE. While other factions like Jedi struggle to even get three resources in their decks, Sith are barreling them out like no tomorrow. I will agree that as a stand alone card there is nothing wrong with Sith Holocron. Powerful cards should have a place in Star Wars, but then the rest of the pod should balance that out, which is not the case here. I know that a major opposition to this change could be the fact that the executor will be very difficult to play. While you can't turn one play it anymore, I feel it will not be a dead card. For one, it has three force icons which is alwasy useful and secondly, sith has more than enough resource ramp to get it out mid to late game, especially in Motti builds. By making changes like this to the Holocron you turn the Executor into a late game bully like it should be, and most importantly, rejuvenate the variety of viable decks in the meta. (as a side-note, I may not post a lot, but I know what I'm talking about. My credentials for this article come from playing start wars since they first gave away the core set before it was released, and from playing games for almost fifteen years including magic, thrones, warhammer invasion, netrunner, mage wars, and numerous others, plus i help friends playtest and balance homemade games.)
  3. I just want to say that I am extremely excited that someone is continuing to keep warhammer alive. I am a new player to the game (though I've played the other LCGs for awhile) and was really disappointed that FFG had stopped WHI production. Do you guys have any idea as to how you are releasing any new cards you make if/when you make them? Also, I may be a new player, but I see the benefit of giving WE to the skaven. Like was said before, being a neutral faction the skaven had little choice for a reliable restricted card until now. Secondly, their self corruption theme was pretty hard to make work without WE, Giving them that card increased variety, not decreased it. Thanks guys, and keep up the great work.
  4. Ok so I was wondering how this works. I have a maester of the sun in play and my opponent valars. In response to the valar I save a character using the maester, and discard Darkstar as the cost of activating it. I then put Darkstar into play. Does Darkstar live because Valar has already triggered?
  5. Thanks. I did go with the alliance deck option. The deck starts out a little slow, and ten power is just too much of a stressor on the deck. I'm still playing around with the plot deck choices.
  6. (note: this is also on the general discussion page. I'm new to the site, so I didn't get the location of all the sub categories down yet) So I've decided to undertake a challenge by making a Targ/Stark deck using either the Alliance or Treaty with the North Agenda. I've got it down to kind of where I want it, but I could really use some help polishing it off. (Please no comments about how impossible or crappy this idea is.) The deck uses Targ as the main house to utilize the burn and strength reducing capabilities, and then throws in the cheap bolton armies and some solid Stark characters. What is cool about this is how synergistic some of the Stark cards like Shaggydog and Grey Wind are with burn. The resource scheme is kinda wonky, and I'm forced to go to some alternate strength reducing ideas because of the house lineup, but I enjoy this deck. Agenda: Treaty With The North Plot Deck: Negotiations at the Great Sept Valar Morghulis Twist of Fate Threat from the North Snowed Under Battle of Oxcross Muster the Realm! Deck: 2x Dragon Support 1x Wolf Dreams 2x Paper Shield 1x Meraxes 2x Kingsroad Fiefdom 1x Meereen tourney Grounds 1x Flaming-Pitch Tower 1x Grey Wind 1x Shaggydog 1x Northern Fiefdoms 3x Great Keep 1x Lord Eddard's Chambers 1x Khal Drogo's Tent 3x Narrow Sea 1x Street of Steel 1x River Row 3x Flame Kissed 1x Forever Burning 3x Hatchling's Feast 1x Viserion 1x Jhogo 1x Ser Jorah Mormont 1x Daario Naharis 2x Dragon Thief 2x Street Waif 2x Dragon Knight 1x Khal Drogo 1x Old Nan 3x The Flayed Men 1x Ser Kyle Condon 3x The Bastard's Elite 1x Bran Stark 1x Hodor 1x The Red Keep 1x Great Pyramid of Meereen 3x Harried by Dragons 1x Wyman Manderly 1x Damon Dance-For-Me1 1x Rob Stark (core set) 1x The Bastard's Boys 1x Catelyn Stark
